Without hesitation, I absolutely recommend Larry Haight?s Roofing for consideration in your roofing project. I have found that from their field staff to their office staff, they are all very nice people who show an interest in helping you solve your problems, even if it involves using a different company. I originally had one of their estimators (Mike Apple) come out to assess a ?leak? we had in our office. Our IB membrane roof had been previously installed 2 years ago by another company (which, was now out of business, grrrr). Mike astutely diagnosed the issue as not being a roof leak, but a condensation problem caused by improperly installed roof insulation (which I later had fixed by the original contractor). I of course was delighted to find it wasn?t a roof problem. Later, I called on them again to install some venting around one of our skylights. Mike again review the situation, and made the further recommendation to install additional venting on a different part of our roof which did not have ?intake? venting (due to an addition which was performed on our house). They very promptly were able to schedule the work, and get it done in less than a day. Through this whole process, I learned a TON from Mike about roof venting (and of course, got to see first hand what happens when it is not done properly)! I cannot emphasize enough the value of having a roofing company with educated staff that fully understands this critical aspect of roof installation.

Overall, they started 1 day late, due to finishing a previous job. However they did finish on their estimated end date. They put in some overtime getting roof ready for local rains. When crew arrived, they all knew exactly what was needed and all crew members just started simultaneously. Each knew what was needed next and just proceeded with the tasks needed. No one stood around waiting to be told what to do. Crew worked well together and were very efficient.

Punctual, professional and thorough best describes this business. In researching their work I found the quality of work to be excellent. To be able to stay in the roofing business as long as they have been indicates that they are doing the right things right.

From my first e-mail for an estimate request to the payment of the final bill was a GREAT process. I filled out the request form on their website and received a call from Geri (a company could not have a better front-office person!: friendly, prompt, knowledgeable, friendly...wow!) within an hour. This was amazing, in and of itself, because getting roofing companies to even respond to estimate requests had been proving painful. She set up the appointment for their estimator to come out within a week. The estimator arrived at the scheduled time and rang the bell, informing us he was here. He then got on the roof, measured it all out and went away. Randy May came by a few days later (on a Saturday, meeting our schedule, of all things!) and spent a short, informative session with us. The short part is important, because Randy imparted more information in that hour than the others had in 3 times that long. There was no hard sell. We were impressed with Randy, as a person, and the company, as a whole. We got two other bids and Larry Haight's was in the middle. We went with them because of the impression that Randy had made on us. They were able to get us on to their schedule starting about three weeks after we signed the agreement. The work crew were great and cleaned up...COMPLETELY... after themselves, every day. The PM, Chris, called me on a regular basis and always kept me informed if there were issues or delays. There were some material supply issues, so the project took a little longer than the scheduled week, but it was done properly and in the best time possible. After our initial punchlist walkthrough, Chris got all of the items handled quickly and for the right price. Obrigado to the crew and thanks to all at Larry Haight's!

The cost to replaced the gutters was reasonable. The initial contact was nice to work with. The follow through was good. There were additional cost that they said they would tell us upfront. They told us after they were finished that there were additional cost to fix the work they had just done.

Contacted for estimate on gutter and roof repair. Sent someone out for estimate who left a card. A week later I'd followed up trying to see if they'd been able to access the property for an estimate. Shortly thereafter I missed a voicemail, presumably to discuss it. I returned the call and followed up with several e-mails but haven't heard from them since. Disappointing for such a well reviewed company. I hope they're busy with lots of summer business, because they had their chance with me. The following is a REBUTTAL to the company's response from my LARRY HAIGHT'S RESIDENTIAL ROOFING CO report, as their's was erroneous. I wrote asking for update on estimate, figuring more than 2 weeks had passed: Thursday, July 22, 2010 They quickly replied and their sales and vice president tried to contact me by phone. Left a voice mail. I returned the call and left a message with the front desk: Thursday, July 22, 2010 I wrote saying I'd left a message with the front desk: Thursday, July 23, 2010 They responded saying they replied that they would forward my message to their sales and vice president: Thursday, July 23, 2010 I did not receive an e-mail or call. I wrote my initial report on Angie's List: Wednesday, July 28, 2010 They were very quick to reply and to claim they have yet to hear from me. Not the customer is always right approach, nor the truth. I wrote their president and their sales and vice president: Monday, August 2, 2010 I again received no response. They are not as expert at returning calls or e-mails as they claim. I was also frustrated to have had to follow-up with them for the estimate. And when I left an unbiased review, they quickly responded that I was at fault.

Have waited through winter and now summer due to concerns with "low spots" where water does not drain properrly. Problem was underested in ther intial review of project with slight sloped roof. After installation pressed for correction that cost me added $1k and likely them more than that. I should have not paid anything extra. Still suspect of one low spot and now proving to be correct, low spot remains, water does not drain. We have to broom it.. They are honest people who did many things right but they technically made errors in this project at a very expensive price. Be very careful in execution on flat roofs. I may still call them to make a final correction to the low spot but I recall the last solution was to take that section of roof up again and build in slope and re lay that roof section. Could have been easily executed with better indentification of the issue up front. In all fairness I have not called them back on this issue as the resolution is not very attractive..

He provides quality work. I appreciate that it's a family owned business. They're honest about their work and provide only the services necessary. They go above and beyond where they can, which is much appreciated.

The people hired by this company were top notch. They worked very fast and kept an eye on the weather forecast and cleaned up the yard. They brought a dumpster and a porta-potty so that they didn't bother us for anything. They needed to, and did rent a machine to assist in removing the old insulation. All in all it was exceptional work. We are very pleased and have recommended this company a couple of times.

Great. Immediately returned my calls. Came to the house and gave us a thorough estimate within two days and scheduled our project within 2 weeks of signing the agreements. They completed the entire project in 2.5 days. Would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Great job. Courrteous and professional estimator. Kept in regular contact. Showed up on time. Did good work. Thoroughly cleaned up afterwards. Kept me informed when they found (as they wanted me the might) one of two skylights was leaking and charged a fair price to replace it. Finished up in 5 days as estimated. Frequent in progress updates from job foreman. After the fact they voluntarily pointed out that my gutters were leaking in two places, which they may have caused. They might have gotten away with this if they had not brought it up. They made repairs to the gutter on their dime---volunteering to do so without me having to pressure them. True integrity. Their price was slightly hihger than most (bit not all) of the other bids---but I just felt more comfortable that I could trust them. I made the right choice.

I had numerous leaking problems with a kitchen skylight. (Larry Haight did not install the skylight, but they did put on a new roof for me after the skylights had been installed.) After several meetings with the skylight installer and then the skylight manufacturer representative, the manufacturer rep said that he would not replace the skylight even though it was under warranty and should be replaced. He claimed that the roofer had damaged the skylight, so it was no longer covered by the warranty. After much haggling, LH came to my rescue and insisted that the skylight be replaced at no cost to me. I paid LH only a minimal installation cost of $350 (the job took them about 5 hours). They also repaired, AT NO COST to me, some damage to the roof caused by the skylight rep when he tarped it. Later LH came back again to fix damaged flashing on the back skylights and another area near a stove vent. The flashing was actually their fault, but the vent problem was probably caused by another worker on the roof. All was repaired at NO COST to me. Going forward, I will not have anyone work on my roof except Larry Haight. They're a great company that really stands behind their work and their customers.

Everything was great. The work was finished on time. The roof looks good. The project was not inexpensive, but the price was competitive with the other bids I got.

We had first met Michael Haight at the Bellevue Home Show, and were impressed with his frankness about how various "systems" actually perform in keeping gutters clear of leaves and branches. He never claimed that his company's screens didn't require some modicum of maintenance; while the several other gutter cover vendors promised that their microfilters or whatever would never be a problem. He was very professional and personable. Then, after chatting at length with his brother-in-law (this is a family business) at the Seattle Home Show, we asked for an estimate. Mike Apple arrived exactly when promised; made his measurements and didn't "oversell" what they could do. Because our gutters had lasted almost thirty years, he showed us that replacing them was actually more cost-effective than trying to repair the leaks. And, his estimate was most competitive! (The Angie's List discount was a big help too). The installers were amazing. They must stay so slim from all the climbing off and on the roof, or maybe from not taking coffee breaks or lunch. They made me tired just watching them. Super nice guys who obviously knew what they were doing. In one long day they tore off the old gutters; installed new ones; added the screening to help keep them free of debris; and cleaned up (even blew leaves off our roof) everything. We can see why they have been in business for 25 years -- they are straight shooters who know their trade and are clearly proud of the work they perform. And, they do it for a fair price.

They are awesome! The estimator arrived when stated. The quote arrived in a couple of days. After the contract was signed they completed the work within about 10 days. They arrived on-time and had the job completed in one day and they did a great job of cleaning up and not leaving behind any debris. Everyone I encountered was professional, friendly and very responsive.

I called and spoke to Michael Haight on a Tuesday, who was very friendly and easy to talk with. He seemed to have no problem with my wanting to get some repair work done that Friday while the weather was nice, and he setup an estimator to come out Wednesday. He also said that he would check with his scheduler who was at lunch and get back to me about crew availability on Friday. He didn't. The estimator came on Wednesday and looked around, spoke to my fiancee, and then went back to his truck. He proceeded to do paperwork there for a while, and then left. Without giving us an estimate. I called the office to see what was up, and when we could expect this estimate since the work day was only two days away. Unfortunately Michael was busy and the woman I spoke to was extremely unhelpful and inflexible. This lady, even after my having tried to explain the sense of urgnecy several times, insisted that there was no way for me to talk to Michael today, but he would call me in the morning. She made it clear that the estimator wouldn't be back into the office to "file his paperwork" until the morning anyway, and then there would be great amounts of work involved for her to write up a contract and present it to me, and it was unlikely that the work could be done so soon. She said that "normally" this takes more like 2 weeks than two days. So, if I have a leaky roof and call Haight's roofing, I should wait two weeks for them to do their paperwork??? That's nuts. I asked this lady if perhaps some revolutionary technology such as a TELEPHONE could be employed to talk to the estimator rather than wait for all this paperwork. She didn't really think this was possible. This was a really disappointing experience after an initial very positive conversation and wasted my time, and my fiancee's time. I have dealt with lots of different subs during our remodel, and they are all smarter and more responsive than these people. It's great that Haight has a process for going about their business and of course I expect a contract, but seriously -- for a simple repair job, an experienced estimator should be able to come up with a number on the spot and the "contract" usually is really simple. By the way they finally mailed me their bid after the job was already completed with excellent quality by another contractor, and their price was 40% too high. I guess the economic slowdown hasn't affected Haight's... yikes.

The job and quality of work was excellent. They took about a week to finish the job and there were no issues with their work. It was a very pleasant experience. I would definitely use them again.

We did not go with them. The guy came out and he was pretty obnoxious. He dissed everybody and said that they were the only company that was any good. I didn't like the way that he acted and based on him, I wouldn't go with that company. Their estimate was the highest that I received out of four people. He basically said that if we didn't go with him, we were wasting our money. His personality was extremely unpleasant. Frankly I couldn't wait to get him out of the house. The lowest bid I got was $13,000 and he was $22,026. He initially came out and said he would call a week later and I never heard from him.

I made my choice to use them based on the information I found from Angie's List. I don't have any complaints about my experience.

When the worker removed the leaking gutter, it was determined that there was more wood rot than expected. The worker left the job site. We received a phone call saying that we needed a carpenter to replace rafter tails and the nailer board as well as the fascia. They said they did not do that but had a carpenter that would do it for $1500-1700; the original quote for the entire job was $630. We knew another carpenter, so we said we'd take care of that then call them when it was done so they could come back. They said they would adjust our bill to reflect that they had not done any of the quoted replacement of fascia work. Our carpenter came and did the job for $600, much less than Larry Haight's carpenter quote. We called Larry Haight's Roofing back to say the job was ready for them to come back to (3 days later). They said they would have trouble fitting us in now that we'd gotten out of their work flow.They seemed unhappy with us for choosing someone else to do the carpentry work, and made comments about it had better be warrantied work. We said, yes it is, and whenever you come is fine. They called the next day and said they could now come that day, which they did. They did a nice job. I received a bill for the original estimate and called to ask if there was going to be an adjustment to the price (as I'd been told) and was told nastily that we'd inconvenienced them by hiring someone else to do the carpentry work and that the price they'd charged us would stand. We said fine and paid it, but won't hire them again. Their attitude is unprofessional, and we felt they would have overcharged us for the carpentry work. They're not nice, and there are too many other nice people in the world to deal with.

They did a wonderful job. They worked really hard and they were most gracious.

The whole process, from initial phone call to receiving the invoices went smoothly. Telephone, email and regular mail communications were prompt and courteous. I interacted with about 6 different people. I did not get any other bids, so I don't know about the price; but it's less than what I anticipated.

Easy to work with in developing estimate, very competitive pricing. Sales rep and job foreman very pleasant and responsive. Roof itself seems to be doing fine, looks great. Some comparatively smaller concerns: incomplete final clean up and minor damage, had a harder time managing a skylight installation that they stated would be no problem, some punch list items that should have been spotted by company, most significantly including tears in felt liner during installation that were subsequently patched, couple of shingles that had to be replaced that were bad. Would use them again but follow the job closely.

They were very responsive, came out right away, and fixed the problem. The crew that came out to do the repairs were very curteous.

Great honest company. I had estimator Mike A. out to check out a possible IB Roof leak/condensation problem. They were not the original installers of the roof, so he certainly had the opportunity to tell me there were all sorts of things done improperly with the install. Not so. He complemented on the quality of the IB membrane install, and detailed for me how the insulation (which was replaced from inside by a different company) was installed such that it was flush with the roof, and there was no room for air flow between the roof vents. This was the apparent cause of my water spots inside the house. Super helpful and educational!
