Initial contact with roofing consultant George was excellent. george explained in detail the scope of work, the crew experience and the quality of materials to be used. The crew was very professional, worked quickly and always arrived on time. The on-site forman was responsive and made sure the job and clean up was completed according to the contract. I would not hesitate to recommend Haight Roofing to anyone needing a new roof.

This is the second time I have had this house reroofed by Larry Haight's company. They always do an excellent job & clean-up afterwards. When I have a problem with any leak, they are quick to respond & repair. Very nice people to work with. They were good at explaining our options in materials, costs, & warranties. The work began & ended on time.

Excellent installation of new gutters. High attention paid to slope of gutters around the house. Outbuilding roof replacement is excellent. Looks better than the main house. Cedar shingles used. The roof is multi-step and professional edging was installed and it looks incredible. Engineer recommended installation of vents, and how to maintain the whole building to extend its life. Very prompt, professional, and sharp attention to detail.

He came out and did the same waking about over the roof as the other roofer. They missed some details the the other roofers noticed. They refused to provide any estimate without another appointment which was clearly going to be just sales pitch to replace the whole roof instead if fixing it. I had to pouint out some problems including the gutter which I ended up fixing myself instead of dealing with these clowns. It was a total waste of time. Do not bother with them. They will just game you.
Description of Work: Took a few weeks to call back about an estimate so the other two had already seen the roof before the even called but they were able to come out the next day. Arrived a few minutes late but every contractor is because of where I live, so it was an average arrival time. Called a week later claiming they wound not give us an estimate without them coming out for another appointment.

Games are never played. Our procedure is explained when you first call in. We do ask to meet with you, not for a "sales pitch" but rather to expain what we found and how we can fix the situation. Most people respect this and understand that replacing or fixing your roof can be a big job. I am sorry that you did not like our procedure but you still allowed us to look at your roof knowing how we operate. Why be so vindictive and give us such a bad review? We were only doing our job, a job that we extremely good at.

So here is how it went: We being a member of Angies, located Larry Haight's Roofing among it's listings and after getting two bids selected them to contract with us. Randy May , their sales person came to our home and went over everything that would be entailed in the completion of a new roof and Skylight.. Their estimator came out and reviewed the whole situation, took pictures and recommended the work to be done, which Randy presented to us. As stated in the provider section all the work was accomplished in a very orderly fashion and with great care to examine the underlying supports, insulation ( of which we had ample from before) and boards which support the tiles. Each day as they finished working on the roof, their men completed cleaning up any debris that was left. In addition they covered all our planting and etc with Tarps to protect everything. We have a back Deck on our home and that was entirely protected also. Randy reviewed with us regarding the Wiring from the Electrical pole which was tied down to a separate place on the roof, that it should all be secured in one place according to code. His recommended Electrician who was familiar with this particular kind of situation did the work for a very reasonable price. I know because I got a Bid from another company for a much higher price and they made it complicated, so we were glad to have his man complete the job for us. During the Skylight removal and replacement they were very careful to secure the opening each day as the glass was removed right away. All previous vents were removed and new tops to the ones remaining were replaced and Ridge vents were installed on both the roof of the house as well as the Carport in case anyone ever changes it to a garage, very thoughtful idea. Needless to say we are very pleased with the whole job and how it was so prfessionally handled. In addition we had them replace a previous gutter to accomodate the runoff from the carport that seemed to accumulate and not drain. They installed the new gutter which really does the job and for that we are very happy. We have recommended Larry Haight already to a few nieghbors who are thinking of replacing their roofs. We are gad to write this review which was our idea for an outstanding company.
Description of Work: The company, first provided a debris Bin for the Teardown of the roof which was essentially completed the first day. The Bin served as a carrier for some of the new Materials to be used. Chris Brockman, Operations Manager reviewed the work and supervised what was to be done each day. He was very thorough and communicated to us what was encountered on the roof and the appropiate action to be taken. They replaced any 4x 8 boards that were inferior. They were 32 in all. The reconstruction of some facia board was necessary. The completion of installing new roof tiles was then completed. New and larger gutters and larger down spouts was completed and were an improvement. Because there was a special order for some of the trim there was a small delay in the finishing process which was fully explained by the Operation Mananger to our satisfaction. The job was tereupon completed in three more days. The other major accomplishment was the replacement of our Skylight over ther Kitchen with a much improved installation and double pane protective Glass. In Fact , Chris examined the installation and determined that an addtional securing of the Skylight was necessary and completed it himself. We were very impressed with the care and concern he always showed by his thoughts and actions.

I normally don't take the time for a review. But Larry Height's roofing is a lost gem in the construction/roofing business. Firstly, I am still blown away by their honesty and communication. Some examples: during re-roofing they found some extra material that could be re-used, so discounted my final bill by a significant amount. I would have never known had they not told me and been so honest. They are not annoyed or nickel-and-dime for any little extra concerns you have questions about-- they just come right out. During the installation, they covered our entire yard so no debris would be left behind. Each day left the job site clean of debris (we have little ones). They even asked to get into our garage so they could sweep up any debris (!). They also had a super reasonable rate for gutters and flashing (and don't contract out anything). They also do insulation. Which I said to check and add if needed... they said it wasn't needed (honest!). They offer the best workmanship warranty... and I truly believe if I ever had an issue 20 years later-- they'd not hesitate to come out and fix it. Make sure to make this company part of your bidding process. We also liked Oasis and Northcreek.

To start, when I was getting bids from different companies for roof replacements, Larry Haight's roofing was the only company that would not provide me a bid without sitting down to talk about it. At first I found this slightly annoying, but after having gone through the experience, I now know it was extremely valuable and well worth my time. Randy came down and discussed with me for at least an hour the different aspects of roofing and what their bid was. He was very transparent, not pushy, and I could tell he cared about doing the best for his customers. He was very open about the roofing process and the different things to look at when selecting a roofing company. I asked him a ton of detailed questions and he answered them to the level of detail I was interested in. Overall, this was the best and most important conversation I had in my process of selecting a roofing company. After a month or so of mulling multiple bids, I decided to go with Larry Haight's because the value was much higher than the other companies and bids I could have gone with (items considered were materials, reputation, duration in business, warranty, etc). I could have paid less, but it wouldn't have been by much and I wouldn't have gotten the quality of product nor warranties that you could rarely find with other companies. The roofing replacement took place over a few days, but I was impressed by how quickly it got done based on the weather. The crew working on the project worked in a light rain and I was impressed with how well they installed the roof. The chimney cap was installed about a week later as it required measurement and then the parts to be made by a separate company who Larry Haight's works with. Overall, the installation of the roof went very well. After the roof was installed, Chris (project manager) came down and we went over what was done. We actually got on the roof to take a closer look and it made me have much more respect for anyone who installs roofs (rough on the ankles). The final step was the final bill. Fortunately there were no surprises and the total actually came in a few hundred under what I thought it would. Overall it was a great experience and I highly recommend people to contact Larry Haight's roofing when considering a roofing replacement or service. They truly care and while you might pay a slight bit more, the value you get is much greater than almost any other roofing company in the area.
Description of Work: Larry Haight's Roofing replaced my old composition roof with a new composition roof. Modifications were made to have ridge venting and a new chimney cap was also included.

They did an excellent job and they were very professional when they did get to it but I was a little disappointed that we had to wait that long.
Description of Work: He was very good and very honest. They’re very competent but unfortunately very popular. It was supposed take place in October but didn't happen until March. I was on the waiting list for the second week of October but it got delayed. That is my only complaint. With the holidays and everything, they just couldn't get to it. Then, we just had to wait until the temperature reached 40 degrees.

This story begins with rainwater leaking in through my kitchen ceiling around the chimney, every time we got a sudden burst of rain. I knew something was wrong but couldn't see the problem myself, when I got up on my roof and looked around. I got out my Angie's List booklet, looked up roofers, and began cold-calling to find someone willing to come out, give an estimate and do the repair. You would not believe how many roofers refuse to come out for minor "repair" jobs and state they'll only come look at your roof if you're ready to purchase a new roof. When did roofers get into the business of refusing work? Anyhow, after getting a few "no thanks" replies, I called Larry Haight's Residential Roofing. They were the only company willing to come out and inspect my problem; this was the first quality that made them stand out. Turned out my leaky chimney was actually an indicator of a much bigger problem. The roofer who installed my existing roof about 7 years ago never put counter-flashing around the chimney, preferring instead to just slap some caulking around the base of the chimney and call it good. That caulking was now old and cracked, allowing rainwater to seep in around the chimney. But that was only the beginning. I have an unusual roof: it's a flat roof, made of PVC membrane. The roofing company who did my original roof used a cheap TPO fabric that is impossible to repair now because it loses elasticity quickly. In addition, the corners of the roof hadn't been done properly; I had wood rot (which I could see from the ground, looking up at my eaves) from the leaks around the corners. Larry Haight's would have been willing to do the repair if a repair was all that was needed, but I had a poorly installed, low-quality, aging, leaking roof on my hands that if left in place, probably would have caused wood rot beyond the eaves, down my walls. The Larry Haight's guys gave me an original estimate of $16K to replace the roof, which included proper flashing around the chimney, redoing the downspouts, proper ventilation, etc. They warned me, however, that with such shoddy workmanship in place, I could be facing additional charges, once they ripped up the roof and looked inside. The first day of the job, when they ripped up the roof, they found my existing roof had been slapped down right over the old roof. So they had to replace 900 board feet of rotted wood and padding, IN ADDITION to putting the new roof in place. This resulted in an additional $6K for the job. They reported this to me on the first day and got my approval for the additional charges before starting. There were no surprises, from a billing standpoint. They even worked with me to arrange payment terms for the additional costs. Every single person I worked with or talked to at Larry Haight's is a consummate professional, from the receptionist to the estimator to the foreman to the crew. It's a family-owned business, with the kids of the owners working in the front office. Even the salespeople and foremen seem like members of the Larry Haight family. The company that did my poor-quality roof went out of business when the construction industry tanked in 2008; Larry Haight's survived the downturn and has been in the roofing business for over 30 years, thriving today - because of their high-quality approach, I believe. The crew brought a Honeybucket with them to my house so they weren't traipsing inside to use the restroom. They laid down tarps to collect all the debris from the roof each day, and each night they cleaned up around my house meticulously before they left. One of the guys mistakenly dropped a caulking tube down one of my furnace chutes near the end of the job. He told me about this mistake the crew made a special effort to pull it out, without damaging anything. The day of the final walk-through, we saw that the downspout gutter was leaking in a few spots (it was a rainy day) and they made a special effort to fix the elbow joints to eliminate the leaks. They went out of their way to communicate with me, ensure I was in the loop on every detail, earn my trust and secure my satisfaction. Flat roofs are not like regular shingled roofs; they are tough jobs to do, requiring a highly trained crew and special workmanship. I went up on the roof to inspect it the day of the walk-through and was blown away by their excellent workmanship. Larry Haight's Residential Roofing ensured the quality of my new roof with a lifetime guarantee that is transferable to any owner of my home. Very few companies do that these days. I couldn't be more pleased and grateful. I highly recommend Larry Haight's to ANYONE needing a roofing repair, estimate, or new roof.
Description of Work: The ceiling around my chimney was leaking into my kitchen every time we got a burst of rain; a Larry Haight's Residential Roofing representative came out originally to inspect the chimney and offer an estimate for cost of repair. After inspection, the representative saw that it would have been impossible to repair/fix the substandard TPO material used for my flat roof and proposed an entirely new flat roof. Ultimately we hired them to replace the roof.

I contacted Larry Haight after detecting a small ceiling leak coming from the corner of the skylight. They sent out an estimator who went up on the roof, removed flashing, and found the leak - he took pics to orient me to the work. He recommended replacement, and told me about the options and what would be involved with replacement - his description proved 100% accurate. He went back to the office and coordinated the estimate with a manager; the estimate was emailed to me. I found it was just fine and emailed back a couple questions, which prompted either the owner or a manager to call me immediately with answers. I put down a 50% deposit and they contacted us less than a week later with an appointment for the next day. The crew of two people arrived just after noon and got to work, and by the end of day one had the new skylight and new roofing material in place. Roofing material had been color matched to approximate our 10 year old roof. By the end of daylight they hadn't finished the final fit and finish, but returned the next day and installed the screen and mechanism to open the skylight, and they were done. At the end of day one the original estimator paid a visit and again inspected the work - again he documented their work with digital pictures. I have since been up on the roof to have a look and they did a good job with the installation, fitting the skylight into a space that the last home contractor has built that was out of true (not square). The mechanism to open/close works well. The crew was courteous and cleaned up everything. The work came in on estimate; the invoice for the balance came in about a week later, I have paid it and am a happy consumer. Time will tell if the fit is water tight, but we've had about an inch of rain since the install and no leaks detected so far.
Description of Work: Replace a ~10 year old skylight with a new one.

Again, Angies list steered us in the right direction. It was definately time for a new roof.We researched Angies list thoroughly regarding new roof installation. After receiving 3 estimates from 3 contractors,we chose Larry Haight's Residential Roofing company. The company had a definate organized and proven model for sucess that they followed from start to finish that we felt very comfortable with.Mike Apple did the initial estimate. Then within 3 days of the estimate,George Bear met with us to discuss the estimate in very good detail. George is Vice President and sales for the company and demonstrated confidence and pride and had a vested interest in the company. We were sold on the very detailed estimate and the quality of materials promised for the job.George promised to do the whole project the only way which was the right way.The company honored the Angies list discount which was a nice savings. The project started on time as promised. The workers were very skilled and worked very well as a team. They worked long hours and extremely hard depending on what needed to be done. The roof was never left open at the end of the day.The project manager was Chris Brockman. Chris met with us each day to show us pictures of the progress and the work that had been done.We felt very informed and also reassured that the job was being done the right way.The roof was basically done in 3 and half days.Extremely hard working crew. New gutters were installed by a separate worker another day and great attention to detail. You sense that the company has been able to retain the same workers for extended times which helps the job go more smoothly.George and Chris met with us again when the job was final. I feel the price quote was fair and the job done skillfully by all that were involved. Very thankful for a job well done and would not hesitate to hire them again if the need should arise. The company's longevity is also reassuring if needed. Larry &Cathy Eldred

I had several areas in my vaulted ceiling that were wet from the roof leaking. The roofer went on the roof and found a hole in 1 shake and several cracked shakes. He placed tin shingles under the defective shakes to prevent further leaking. He was at my home for a total of 45 minutes. The charge was $250 plus tax. The person was very professional and inspected the roof carefully in the areas where the leaks seemed to be coming from on the inside of the house, I offered to pay the bill at the time the work was done but he said I would get a bill from the office. The bill came 2 days later and said if I didn't pay at the time of receipt a lien would be put on my house.

Initially came out to check our leaking roof but said they needed to return on a clear day. If they do not want business then they should say they are too busy or something vs say they will be in contact and then never return or return calls.

From start to finish, Larry Haight's did a professional job. They provided a project manager (Chris), who kept in constant communication with us. Our old roof did not have proper ventilation, so we decided to replace the plywood decking for the entire roof. Of concern to us was the plywood over the eves, since it can be seen from below. We didn't want to have to repaint those boards after the work was done. Larry Haight's offered to pre-paint the boards. When the plywood arrived, the boards had several coats of white paint. All of the work was accomplished in just three days. The composition shingles were delivered to the roof top just before the crew arrived. They removed the old roof and worked as a team to install new insulation and decking. We had one request, which was to have time to replace the bathroom exhaust fans. When the roofing was removed over the fans, we were allowed as much time as needed to remove the old fans and re-install new units. In addition, the roofing crew added new exhaust ducts, and replaced the roof-top vents with new sexy-looking ones! After the roofing was complete, they re-painted all of the roofing vents. Meanwhile, the carpentry crew started installing the new skylight over the kitchen, as well as removing the old facia boards and installing the new pre-painted ones. They had to re-route some of the wiring for the kitchen lights when the skylight was being constructed. New sheet rock was installed, and the crew returned several times to sand and paint the visible surfaces. Each time they installed plastic to keep any dust from entering the rest of the house. We also needed to replace a support beam in the front of the house which held up the porch roof. The new beam was provided and installed, along with new support posts. One problem encountered was the location of the exhaust pipe from the natural gas water heater. It needed to be re-located away from the roof valley. The roofing crew provided a new location for the exhaust pipe, but they needed the connection to the hot water done by the natural gas company. We contacted the gas company, and they arrived within hours to hook up the re-routed pipe to the water heater. On the final day, the gutter crew arrived and installed the new gutters and gutter screens. I highly recommend this team of experts to solve your roofing needs.
