IRC Kitchen & Bath

This was the third time we went with David and he and his crew are better than before. There's not much else to be said about it. They take their time and are careful, so you'll have the best experience if you don't have a super-tight timeframe. But David will be the first one to be up-front about what he can and can't do about time. This was the first job in which there was an actual issue during the installation - we obtained the wrong shower valve and didn't realize the error until after installation. On top of that, this was 3 days before Christmas. The way he reacted was great - he had a plan, was straightforward about when/how it would happen, and it happened. The Monday after Christmas, his guys came back, fixed the issue (which required some removal of drywall and tile), and it didn't affect the final look at all - I can't tell that the issue even occurred. And, of course, the bathroom looks great.

From the very beginning, David was extremely honest and trustworthy. His workers treated my home with a great deal of respect and I had no problem leaving them there to work without my presence every day. The work was performed to perfection and he is reasonable with his pricing. I have a WOW master bath, as well as a beautiful guest bath and my kitchen has inspired me to cook more often than before, and I cooked a lot. I would love to use him again, but he has created a modern and beautiful atmosphere in my home. If in the future, I have work to be done, I would seek out David and IRC. My neighbors intend to use him as well. They have seen my results.

Amazing!! The tile I had was patterned and they created a beautiful layout that made the most of the "look". His team consulted with me on all the choicepoints and helped make decisions. They always cleaned up and left everything neat and orderly.

This was our first remodel project in a house we'd barely settled in to. I'd received David's name through the company that built our custom cabinets, and after reading some good reviews here and meeting with him, we went for it. We gave the crew a very tight timeline: Memorial day start, July 7 finish. The team descended and prepped the area very well, erecting dust shields and taping everything off. As the project expanded into the living space, they moved everything out to other rooms (tip: if you are going to store a sofa outside, wrap it in a dark tarp - not clear). Demo was swift. David and crew tore out everything, including a pony wall and plumbing. He brought in a floor guy to find replacement brazilian cherry boards to patch a large area in the floor, then sand and refinish the entire kitchen/living/dining room. It looked fantastic. We ran into some normal snags during build-out. David found old stains behind the dishwasher that looked like mold, so he ripped out more of the wall to ensure it wasn't fresh (it wasn't - hooray!). I grumbled about what I thought was a high paint quote, but that team did a great job. Plumbing had to be re-routed, more electrical than we previously thought had to be installed, etc. Even though our costs rose a little, it was all reasonable and David went the extra mile wherever he could. Overall the build-out went very smoothly. We had custom cabinets for David's crew to install, and we had some timing issues with parts, drawer pulls, and supports. When David asks you to have all material ready for him at the start of the job, DO IT. He wants to complete everything on time, and there were a few moments where I was the one holding him up. Our kitchen and many walls of the house are transformed, and we are completely delighted. David is a great contractor and communicator, and his crew is skilled and diligent. We had a very positive experience.

We found David and IRC Tile on Angie?s list and are very glad we did! David was very patient with us as we tried to work through exactly what option we wanted to take when remodeling our bathroom. Ultimately we decided to open up a wall that had a pocket door in it that led to the small bath area ( 5x9 ) to open up that space to make one larger area by combining it with the 2nd vanity and dressing area. There were other options to consider as well to handle the entry to that area from the bedroom and David did a great job of breaking down the costs for all the different options for the project overall. It allowed us to have a very good idea of what the tradeoffs were between features and cost. We talked with a couple of other folks about the project and while the cost estimates were all in a similar ballpark we just felt that David was the right choice especially given that the project was predominately tile work. My wife had a very good idea of the look and color scheme she wanted and David hooked us up with Kayron Brewer who was the designer he worked with. Kayron was very helpful in helping us pick out materials and in taking that look and creating the design and drawings for the project and added some nice touches to it. The actual work David did is to die for, it all came out better than we could have hoped for. The craftsmanship, and attention to detail transformed that previously small dank space into being the nicest room in the house ( love the heated floors ). David was always available for questions before and during the work and if any came up during the work he would always check with us before doing anything. His crew was great and always cleaned up at the end of the day and were skilled and pleasant. David even picked up a small job at the last minute for us to redo the dry wall in a powder room and repair drywall from a ceiling leak in the kitchen area. We had a tight timeline to get that done so that other work could be done there and David was able to make that happen for us. I could go on and on but it suffices to say that we were thrilled by our experience with David and are already thinking about what our next project with him will be.

David at IRC was great to work with. He provided many good ideas during the final design phase of the project and showed a deep interest in making sure the details were well defined and that we understood some options that were available to improve our ideas. He then provided a very detailed work plan and budget. There were no surprises at the end. It cost what he said and we thought it was a very fair price. I found one of the best things to be the work crews that IRC used. They were polite, neat and asked questions to make sure we were getting what we wanted. They showed up when they said and asked permission if they wanted to work late or on a weekend. They constantly checked and rechecked to make sure grout line, counter lines, etc. matched aesthetically. Even their trucks were kept neat and clean which indicated a real quality focus. David used subcontractors for electrical and plumbing and they also were polite, neat and interested in making sure we were satisfied with the work. We talked to many contractors before selecting IRC and we feel that we received value for our money but also that the whole experience was pleasant due to the way David and his crews interacted with us.

Went with IRC based on the positive Angie's list reviews. David fit us into his schedule and we had Igor and Benito working on our bathroom. Two very nice guys. They were punctual and cleaned up everyday and did a great job leveling the bathroom floor for the small hex tiles. Everything looked smooth and flat, no curves, bumps. They removed the trim and put it back perfectly. David came by to oversee the work his guys were doing and they finished the job right on time. I think it took 4 days, like he said it would. David is a busy guy because he and his team do quality work. We'll use them again in the future.

The project went extremely well. David did an excellent job of understanding how we wanted to match the style of our old brick Tudor. He provided a detailed estimate that specified what was included and the work for which we would pay "time & materials". The final bill was exactly what we expected with credit for work that we did ourselves (e.g. the demolition) & the additional work was well documented (e.g. higher quality grout, dry wall work, cove base). His workmen were very prompt, courteous, clean, & responsive to our little tweaks here & there, with excellent suggestions of their own, especially Benito who did all the actual tile work. We'll let you know in about 20 years how well it has worked out for us, but right now we couldn't be more pleased. We can highly recommend David & IRC Tile Services.

Really disappointed based on all the good reviews IRC received on Angies List. I never received an estimate, even after I emailed and called David requesting one after the initial visit.

The contractors are all very friendly and skilled. They were able to masterfully fix the sections in need of repair without damaging the other sections. I'm very happy with the result.

We need to remodel the two bathrooms in our condo. IRC Tile showed up after several attempts to make an appointment, but it was clear he was very busy and giving quotes was low priority. He listened politely, asked questions, took measurements, and promised a quote before leaving. It's been over two months, and we never heard back. Clearly, with the popularity of this business with the people on Angie's List, they have plenty of business and do good work. However, if your job is small potatoes, don't expect to hear back in any reasonable amount of time, let alone get your job done. This may be the way it works with contractors, but it's terrible customer service. The least they could have done was contact me to say they wouldn't be able to do the job.

My experience with IRC tile was top class from start to finish. David was on time for his first appointment. He discussed various options with me. His estimate was detailed with all options we discussed and very well itemized that allowed me to see pricing based on how we structured the project. He was also very accommodation with my shifting schedule and the work was done on time and with high quality. His crew was very professional and David was very detail oriented and very particular about quality and customer satisfaction. The crew cleaned up very well when they left everyday and made sure we were happy with the work when it was complete. I would definitely hire IRC tiles again.

Detailed estimate, was here on time and properly equipped. The workmanship is outstanding. David (the owner) is an artist when it comes to layout. Left everything very neat and tidy. We will use him for the kitchen!

David and his crew were prompt, professional, and courteous. They did a great job tiling our basement bathroom; we will hire them for our next project!

I had a good experience with IRC Tile Services during the quote process. I was real satisfied with it, but we ended up not getting the work done. They were good and pleasant. They were straightforward. I picked them because they were rated well with Angie's List. I was really pleased.

From what I read about him, and from the way he answered my questions, David impressed me as being excellent at what he does; and he was the soul of courtesy and patience in visiting our house on short notice, answering questions, and providing an estimate. Ultimately he did not get the job, because his estimate appeared to be slightly higher than the one I accepted, and because he was not able to start work immediately. When I notified him that the work would not be his, David was grace personified.

Dave was one of many contractors I interviewed and received estimates from. I selected him based on the positive referrals from his previous clients postings on Angie's List and our discussions and the estimate. The estimate was reasonable and I was able to establish good communication with Dave. Perhaps, unlike most customers, I am very detailed in my planning and oversight of the project and Dave was very patient and accommodating in that regard. We would review what was necessary to do each day and if there were choices to be made Dave made sure I had an opportunity to let my preferences be factored in. The job consisted of framing the tub and shower, installing a mud pan and then 12X24 porcelain travertine in the shower and tub deck and surround. The floor had 18X18 porcelain tile. Dave also installed a custom made vanity, slab countertop and closet. After the demolition, we ran into unforeseen circumstances with leaking pipes between the studs and moldy sheetrock. Fortunately, Dave's crew had broad enough skills to rebuild the necessary areas and continue with the original work statement which was primarily tile and slab. Dave juggled his schedule to add the additional hours necessary to incorporate the unplanned work and keep the project moving forward. The crew that performed the majority of the work were very skilled and I am very pleased with the results.

You get what you pay for! We built our home 4 years ago. At the time we thought all tile work was the same and basically a job of lining up the tile and grouting it into place…WRONG! In our ignorance we chose the least expensive bid, bad move! Our home has 5 bathroom showers, the person who did the tile work looked like he knew what he was doing, but we found out later that what looked good was not! All 5 of our shower pans started to leak and rot into the subfloor. Fortunately, a friend recommended IRC and David and his crew came and saved us from total disaster! IRC is an honest and quality conscious operation. Davis was exact in his bid and the job did not exceed his bid amount, the job was started and finished on time, and the crew cleaned up their work area every day before they left for the evening. David is a young man with integrity, and his company reflects that. The crew were always pleasant, industrious and quiet ,and most importantly, I felt I could completely trust them both to do superior work even if David was not there and that I could trust them in my home when I was not there. I would definitely hire IRC again and would not hesitate to highly recommend IRC to anyone who wants their tile work done right the first time!

When our renters moved out we decided to remodel what was originally our home of 25 years and put it on the market to sell. The catch was that the work had to be complete in a month! The house needed a complete makeover landscaping outside to tile inside. I called IRC and discussed with David the options for our master bath and 2 children’s baths. David came up with great strategies that actually created more value in our home’s appeal to a prospective buyer and suggested he and his crew could also do a lot of the other sub work on my list. I had David and his crew do the entire bathroom remodeling- toilets, showers, vanities, patch and paint, plus all tile work; they remodeled the laundry room, and did many other ‘handy-man’ odds and ends throughout the house.David’s crew worked quickly, the job was done on time and within budget and I could trust them. David’s ideas in those important home-selling ‘impact’ areas and the quality of workmanship have turned what was once a ‘nice’ home into a grand home! I would absolutely hire David and IRC again with any of my tile or subcontracting needs!

I contacted IRC Tile Services to get a quote for tiling our master shower. It took a week and half for them to return my email and then another week of back and forth emails to schedule a time for them to review our project for an estimate. Dave, the IRC estimator, arrived on time for his appointment but that is really the only nice thing I can say. He was kind of rude and made negative comments about our project. We had done all the demo and build out of the new shower ourselves and just wanted to hire someone to do the tile work. He stated that is would have been cheaper if we had just hired them to do the whole project and since we had done the work ourselves, he could not guarantee the tile work. We had two other contractors view the project and give us estimates and they had no issue with the fact we had done the build out ourselves. Dave left and said he would email me an estimate in the next few days. It's been two weeks and I still haven't heard back. I'm doubtful I will and would not hire them even if I did.
