They are fabulous. The owner has a sense of design and is knowledgeable about plants. He also is aware of what type of landscaping works with the period of your home.

They did job. Ryan is on top of stuff over there. The whole team is. The utility company mismarked, but they took care of the issue right away. I have them return for yard clean up, mulch and irrigation maintenance.

Ryan and his team were amazing to work with. From start to finish, the project ran smoothly, on time and in budget. We love our finished project and can’t wait to start another one.

Ryan was amazing start to finish! At our first meeting Ryan sat down with us and we discussed what we were looking to do. He turned that into a virtual plan where we could discuss and make any adjustments if we needed to. He did such an amazing job listening to what we wanted and brought some amazing design plans of his own that there was no need for any changes. The crew came in and did such an amazing job that even all of our neighbors mentioned their high quality of work and professionalism. Ryan came back once the job was done and walked us through the new landscape they had created and described each of the plants thoroughly and how to maintain them.

Project went well. On budget, on time. The crew was great. No complaints. Would hire again.

The initial interaction with this company has been pretty awesome. We got a note from the office manager that Ryan and his team are pretty busy and won't be able to start for another 6 weeks. We were ok with that so we went ahead and set up an initial meet and greet. Ryan came on a weekend to look at our yard, listened to our needs and promised to return in 2 weeks time with a proposed plan. He did return with a plan and we were very excited to get started. But then things started going down hill. We really wanted to work with Ryan as he already spent time working on the proposal and we really valued his input. But it has been TWO months since we have heard anything from him. Repeated emails and phone calls went unanswered. He replied after a while that he will get back to us with a quote but then we heard nothing again! We wasted TWO precious months waiting for him to get back to us. I can't believe it felt compelled to give him our business in the first place. Totally unprofessional.

Green Spaces did a wonderful job in our front yard. The space was previously occupied by a big leaf maple whose roots had spread all over. We had the maple and several firs removed and stumps ground but there were still many large roots in that area that needed to be dealt with. The crew we had was very conscientious and hard working and did a great job of removing a lot of the roots and prepping the soil for planting. They also installed a rockery with steps and a beautiful path meandering through the garden area. The plantings look great and I can't wait for it all to fill in in a couple of years. I would highly recommend Ryan Sarvis and Green Spaces for any of your projects. We will be hiring them again next spring - thanks for all your creativity and hard work.

We were looking to establish an ongoing relationship with a landscaping company to take on a series of projects over an ongoing period of time. As with another reviewer, our initial meeting with the landscape designer went well and she offered some interesting ideas, taking copious notes and making various yard measurements. We were very clear about what our immediate priorities were, and why, and what some of our other "down the road" wishlist items were. And like the previous reviewer, we too had read the 8/17 review about the company and had concerns about contacting them -- something we'd end up regretting. At the follow up meeting to present designs/estimates, the designer showed up late and spent an inordinate amount of time sorting out network connectivity and battery issues. She then proceeded to pitch us at length on project items that we had previously told her were at the very low end of our priority list (back yard patio being one of them). Of the priority items that were at the top of the list, she completely missed the mark on the type of plantings we were looking for and had discussed, and, more importantly, why we wanted a "green fence." She had forgotten about the hardscaping we'd requested as part of a dry well we were looking to have dug. She forgot about the landscape lighting we'd previously talked about. Even the back yard patio she pitched (which we'd told her was something at the bottom of our project list) she neglected to include using the 1 ton of extra bluestone we have stacked up in our backyard specifically for that project, something we'd shown her and explained what we wanted to use it for. The capper of all this was when she presented a drawing showing a raised vegetable planter box placed directly in the middle of our already exiting vegetable garden! (We'd had no discussions about doing anything with our existing veggie garden, so besides being utterly annoying and missing the mark, it wasn't even something on our list.) After politely taking her to task on the fact that everything she'd presented us was not what we'd requested, or in places had even discussed, she started making a used car salesman type pitch, stating that she could have a crew start on the work the following week -- otherwise it would be several months before they could schedule us -- and that the company had "about a $7,000" work minimum, which was news to us. After not falling for the hard sale, we scheduled a follow up meeting for approx three weeks out, hoping she'd get things right this time. The following day I emailed both her and Green Spaces office manager, expressing our frustration and disappointment with the meeting, and explicitly detailing (again) what the project work was that we wanted done, and the priority of each item. We also asked for clarity around the "about $7,000" work minimum. We never got a response from anyone at Green Spaces. On the day of our follow up meeting, we received a separate email from the designer saying that she needed to cancel because she had another deadline she needed to meet. She didn't address of acknowledge our previous email, only said she could email us the revised designs if we wanted or meet sometime the following week. At that point, it was well past obvious that this wasn't a company we had any interest doing business with, or otherwise recommending. We didn't bother replying and haven't heard any follow up from them since.

In our initial meeting with the landscape designer, we were impressed by her ideas and suggestions. We then scheduled a second meeting in which she'd present a detailed plan. We asked, however, that when she returned, she help us to understand how the company had addressed the numerous complaints raised by a former customer about the work crew (see review in Aug., 2017). In our second meeting, the designer shared an email from the company's owner. He entirely blamed the former customer and acknowledged no errors on the company's part. On that basis, we decided against proceeding with them.

We had 3 raised garden beds built in our backyard. Green Spaces also ran our hose line out to the garden area via a buried hose from the house and they extended our lawn to make a nicer edge. They sent two guys out and it took them two and a half days to complete. The garden beds are beautiful with river rock around them to keep the weeds down! And the hose right there by the garden is amazing. I'm extremely satisfied with the work and would highly recommend Green Spaces for any landscaping projects.

It went very well, they were very professional and provided detailed plans as required. The cost of the work was above what we were prepared to pay at that point and we postponed work.

Ryan and his team transformed the front of our house by replacing a driveway, retaining wall and stairs. It is absolutely amazing.

Green Spaces Landscaping transformed our backyard into an inviting space that we are simply thrilled with. We found and purchased a design consult coupon from Green Spaces Landscaping on Angie's to get some ideas about what might be possible in our backyard. Ryan Sarvis came out to our home and spent quite awhile sharing ideas and inspiring us. Ryan listened to our hopes and answered all our questions. We had a rough idea of what we wanted to do before contacting Green Spaces; but Ryan brought our thoughts and ideas into focus and had many ideas we never even contemplated. Ryan is very knowledgeable about landscaping, hardscaping, decking, patios, lighting and more. Although we did have a few other quotes, we felt Ryan's expertise across a multitude of disciplines would be beneficial in ensuring everything would come together as planned. We had a couple of revisions of our contract/bid and the work to be performed and Ryan was flexible with us to maintain our targeted budget while still achieving our main and most important goals/priorities. There was a bit of delay due to the poor air quality this late summer but once the project kicked off we were so impressed by the Green Spaces Landscaping crew. We were blessed to have Matteo and Hayner as our two primary craftsmen. Hayner and Matteo were wonderful to have working around our home. For six weeks they came every weekday like clockwork showing up early in the morning and working tirelessly throughout the day in the wind, rain and even some brief snow. They are very conscientious and they take great pride in their work. We had a lot of fun talking with them about the work being done and they were very helpful when we asked questions about what was being done or fine-tuning some of the decisions. When I'd ask if something could be adjusted a bit; Hayner would say 'you're the boss'! We miss the guys and hope we get to work with them again in the future. One tidbit of advice is to communicate often with your designer. We worked directly with Ryan and a few times some ideas would get mixed up or forgotten so it is important to get as much detail as you feel you need to ensure you and the Green Spaces team are on the same page and have the same expectations. That said, Ryan was always able to accommodate our needs and we truly felt that his company's ultimate goal is to make his customers dreams a reality and do so at a fair value and with quality workmanship. In summary, we are very pleased with the outcome of our backyard makeover and are so thankful that Ryan and team were able to take on our project. We hope someday to have Green Spaces back to our home and re-work our front yard!

Everything looked great except for the blackberries invading over the back fence.

We have encountered problem after problem with the firm GreenSpaces. Some problems are bigger than others; however, the sum total paints a dark picture of the expertise, quality of service and business ethics of the firm. The multiple problems with Greenspaces Landscaping include: • In preparing the yard for planting, the crews removed vegetation from the yard that was not supposed to be removed, including vegetation in a neighbor’s yard; • The crew took ferns from the community owned greenbelt to use in my yard; • The principal of the firm even suggested to me that I just take ferns from the greenbelt; • The crew used the greenbelt as a bathroom, even though there was a porta potty; • The crew trimmed community owned greenbelt trees without permission so they would have an easier path to walk; • The crew did not amend the soil as the contract specified; • The firm did not provide boulders as specified in the contract; • The crew planted trees without removing the burlap from the root balls; the trees subsequently died; • The crew gave tours of my yard to people passing by without my permission and when challenged about it, said they thought it was OK because “…you weren’t home…”; • The principal of the firm assured me that the lighting the firm would provide would be equal to or brighter than what already was in place. That is most certainly not the case; • The crew damaged my outdoor dining table; • The crew did not set up the irrigation system as I had clearly communicated to the principal. It took multiple attempts to get the firm to rectify the situation and one area is still not right. • The lighting system has exposed wires and still is not working properly; • The landscape does not look like what was promised in the presentation pictures the principal of the firm provided prior to my signing the contract; • Over 40% of the material planted was not appropriate for the site and died; • The crew damaged our deck and the firm has have yet to repair the problem: o First, the crew installed mismatched boards. o They did not use the board manufacturer’s recommended screws and clips on those boards thereby invalidating the manufacturer’s warranty on those boards and the boards to which they attached. And, o the crew neglected to screw down the 40+ deck boards cut for the trim addition on two levels of the deck. o Then, the crew improperly screwed down those boards. o I first advised the principal of the firm of the last problem in September of 2016. In conversation on 11/2/16, he said he would investigate the costs to fix the current deck problem and get back to me after his vacation. On 12/9/16, he said he would get back to me about it the following week. I have waited for his response to my request that the firm fix the deck destruction it caused. • When I met with the principal of the firm on 4/26/17, he assured me that: o he would replace the deck boards that his firm damaged and properly install the new boards (He said that he changed his mind and agreed to replace the deck boards because “…the installation was not up to industry standards…” and he “…believed in karma…”), o he would send me suggestions of plants and shrubs to replace all of the dead ones, He has not done what he promised he would do in April 2017 either. What is not reflected in the above is the inordinate amount of time and energy I have had to expend to get GreenSpaces Landscaping to provide the most rudimentary customer service and quality product which it purports to offer.

Work is on going but we had a great experience with the landscape designer in drawing up a plan and execution schedule.

I sent an inquire to Green Spaces via their webpage on April 7, 2017. I received a prompt response from their office manage on 4/10. She sent my request to their "maintenance design team," who I was told would be in touch about obtaining the estimate. I sent a follow up note on 4/15 asking when someone would be contacting me to schedule a time. She responded on 4/17 and said she would follow up. On 4/18, the salesperson called to set up a time to see the yard. He arrived on time on 4/24 and we reviewed the services to be performed. I was told I would have an estimate by the end of the week (4/28). On 5/2, I sent a brief email to ask when I could expect the estimate. On 5/9- a week later, he responded to my email and asked me if I had any questions about the estimate. I promptly responded that I had not yet received the estimate and asked when I could expect it. It is now 5/15, and I have had no response. I understand that they are a busy company, but I assumed that I would have received an estimate in 5 weeks time. If you need prompt service, this company probably isn't for you.

We are very happy with the quality of the work both in terms of functionality and aesthetic appearance. It was also a pleasure to deal with designer (Ryan Sarvis) and the company as a whole.

The project went very well. The crew was fast, thorough and picked up after themselves!! We are using this company for our back yard renovation as well. The final cost of our project was exactly what was stated in our invoice....no add ons as so often happens with big projects like these. They used quality products and the results reflect that. Ryan has a wonderful sense of design which was very much appreciated as so many of the landscapers that came to discuss my project didn't. This is a trustworthy, quality company that I would recommend to anyone.

We really liked working with Green Spaces. They were very professional in their interactions with us. The quality of their work was very good. We are very pleased with the way our yard looks now. They were very flexible in accommodating our special requests, and they brought good suggestions as we were designing it. At the end of the project, they fixed all of the minor issues that we had to our satisfaction.

Ryan Sarvis, the Principal Landscape Designer, carefully listened to our concerns and came up with an attractive low-maintenance, water-thrifty, bee-friendly perennial garden with improved drainage and plants that will not outgrow the small space. Ryan and his team did a superb job in half the expected time – the lawn, old shrubs and tree stumps were removed mechanically, without using toxic chemicals, and the soil was amended. Everything was kept very tidy. Our new yard looks open and welcoming. We look forward to our upcoming backyard project and we highly recommend Green Spaces Landscaping.

The initial consultation was excellent - asked great questions, offered suggestions for what we we could do with the space. However, the follow up was frustrating. It took weeks to get the initial follow up plan, and when I got it, it was no better than what I could have done on my own. A meeting about direction resulted in one more round of updates, but that was not much improved. I was hoping for a professional's perspective on how large to make the patio, where to put borders, etc. I got a sketch, but not dimensions. By that third round, I was really looking for specifics on what we should do with hardscaping, not plant selection. If plants are more what you're looking for, your results may vary.

It went great actually. They are a very good company. We have contacted them to do more work.
