From start to finish this was the best appliance buying experience I've had. The showroom was clean, well laid out with nearly all all the best brands in the low, middle and higher end budget ranges. The saleswoman was helpful when we wanted help and very knowledgeable, yet not pushy, leaving my wife mull over choices alone and not hovering. In the end, we did not get the highest end dishwasher by name but more the best dishwasher to suit our preferences. We were very happy with the choice we made and equally happy about the care used during installation. High marks all around.

I have used them a couple of times and have been very pleased with them. I have appreciated the fact that it is a small locally owned company and they are perfectly willing to get whatever it is that I want. When I was ready to buy the freezer, for example, I knew exactly what freezer I wanted and what model and what size because I had done my Consumer Reports research. When I first walked in and asked for it, they said that they did not have it but that they could get it. They got it for me within two or three days and delivered it, and I got it at a perfectly reasonable price. When I bought the washing machine, I was looking for an energy-efficient low-water machine, and many of them were too large for my laundry room. When I ordered the first machine, I got home and realized that I could not open the lid all the way because my cabinets were not high enough above it. I went back and told them what the problem was, and they helped me find another machine that would meet my measurements and my other requirements. They were very pleasant about it and changed the delivery, which they had already ordered. They did all those things without any complaints. They provided wonderful customer service. I have been buying appliances from this community for over 40 years, and the company that I had used went out of business. I did some shopping around and found rude treatment. I found people that would tell me what they knew I wanted but I certainly didn’t. Fredericks Appliance Center has been very accommodating and providing very good service. I could have probably found machines that were somewhat cheaper but not as easily, and I would have not known whether or not I had somebody that would really stand behind things. Their quality is outstanding. I would use them again in the future.
Description of Work: I purchased a washing machine from Fredericks Appliance Center. I also purchased an upright freezer from them about a year and a half ago.

After some online and product research, we went to Fredrick's to purchase a new washer and dryer set. Based on Consumer Reports, we had one brand and model in line (LG). Fredrick's had this brand and others all arranged together, which allowed a nice comparison of details. We were approached by one of their sales men. This was the one small down side of the experience. His "sales" approach is a little brusque, stating that our research was inaccurate and the machines we were looking at were not worth the money. While we appreciated his perspective, his sales skills need a little work. I had to take a larger roll in his sales approach asking "Why he felt the original machines were inferior?", "Which machines would you suggest?" , and "How do these machines all compare and what makes them different?" In the end, we did purchase machines that day going with a different machine than we were originally looking for (Whirlpool). The overall reason for this choice was practical - solid machine, good maintenance record, and the controls make sense to use and are easy to navigate when they are stacked. (You wouldn't believe how many dryers have screens directly above the main control which makes them impossible to see when the dryer is stacked. ) During delivery, Fredrick's did a good job of managing customer expectations. We set a date and time for delivery. They called me a day before delivery to advise that one of the components, the stacking brace, was not available and they would need to reschedule our delivery. We rescheduled for a few days later and the delivery crew was on-time, professional, and very helpful describing how to use the new machines and answering all my husband's questions.We would use Fredrick's for our next major appliance purchase.

They were competitive in pricing after I explained that I'd price shopped at Lowe's. I told them exactly what we needed and the sales rep was close in pricing and offered better service that I would have had at Lowe's. Plus, Fredricks' Appliance is much more personable to work with and they are responsive and accomodating. I have worked with them in the past, and will definitely continue to do so in the future.

You will see below in the company response that their attitude is that you are a contractor and deserve to be treated like one. If you are a homeowner trying to ask questions and get specifics, you will be sorry. There will be no apologies and they will treat you like you are the problem. They were provided with my contact information after this report and did nothing to apologise or mitgate our experience. They told me it was my wrong perception because I don`t buy major appliances often enough to understand that there are always additional costs and adjustments. The best thing Fredericks could do is to require their sale staff to go on 2 weeks of installation calls to see what the customer experience is. Our feeling is that except for a good price, this company is missing the boat. We repeatedly said that we wanted all costs accounted for and no surprises. We requested that someone come measure for installation of the wall oven so we wouldn`t have any issues, but this was refused. We measured carefully and expressed concern for the oven fit. We indicated that it was a big challenge for us to schedule a day of installation, so we needed to be sure all was done on one day. The installer arrived with one appliance and didn`t seem to know where the others were and spent the first hour tracking down the other delivery staff. He found time to pitch their special stainless steel spray. Then he proceeded to say there were a series of extra charges for building a shelf to fit the new oven, and that there would need to be a custom trim piece ordered for a separate installation to fill the gap in the oven installation. Since we had been told all costs were accounted for, we referred the installer to Rebecca. She then indicated that these were valid extra costs Fredericks would not pay. The installer indicated that any customer buying new appliances should know that there are extra installation costs....this is a stunning comment for a company who should outline all these fees up front regardless, but particularly if ASKED ABOUT SURPRISES. The shelf fee was eventually waived but we were told the trim piece would be $75 + tax and take a couple of weeks to arrive. When it did arrive, the price was announced at $98, and we redirected them to the installer who gave us the lower price, which they did eventually honor. We were told that this trim piece required professional installation and could not be installed by us, so we had to make arrangements to wait the 4 hours for them to arrive on a given day. This installer spent 30 seconds putting in 4 small screws and said the piece left a small gap (even though they measured it themselves), but we accepted it as we don`t want any further dealings with these people. To add insult to injury, 3 weeks later, someone called to upsell us on the "inadequate" manufacturers warranty, saying that the electronics for these products were so temperamental as to be unreliable and we really shouldn`t go without the Fredericks service package.
Description of Work: We purchased a new refrigerator, stovetop, ventilation hood, and wall oven/microwave combination. We did considerable research and made three visits to Fredericks, making clear each time that we didn`t like surprises and didn`t want a series of installations which were challenging for us to schedule. We worked with Rebecca. We did a lot of homework and were prepared, and we expected the same in return. There were threads of service concerns in other Angie`s List reviews, but we went ahead with Fredericks anyway, thinking maybe it would be different with us. Unless you have time and patience in abundance, think carefully about why you would choose this vendor. Some of the comments made to us were frankly insulting and this was not a good experience.

I liked the advice that the sales person gave us. I assumed I would buy a frost free freezer, but she talked us into buying a not frost free. She explained that it runs at a colder temperature and uses much less electricity. I also was able to determine that I didn't want a frost free freezer.

When our 15-year-old dishwasher broke down right after Black Friday, much to my surprise I discovered that Lowes, Home Depot, Sears and Best Buy were completely out of stock for 2 weeks, or more, depending on the model! At a Home Depot near our house they told me ?After Christmas"! Even the most expensive models were out of stock. So much for the recession... After asking around, looking for local stores that sell appliances, I discovered Fredericks. They had a great selection, everything in stock, and their prices were actually lower than the so-called Black Friday sale prices of the big stores! The only thing that was more expensive was the delivery and installation, and the extended warranty (as compared to the quotes I had for similarly priced models at Lowes and Home Depot), but in the end, after adding everything up, it was still cheaper... and I could have the dishwasher installed the very next day! The delivery went really smoothly, and the young guy that did the installation was excellent. He checked over and over again that everything was leveled and that the door opened and closed smoothly. All in all, it was a great experience, and it debunked, at least for me, the myth that the big stores have better prices and service. Next time, I am going to Fredericks first.

They had the appliances that I was looking for. They were friendly. Casey is very friendly and Rick answered all of my questions. He is very knowledgeable and answered my questions. Especially when I put him in touch with my contractor. The appliances arrived to their warehouse in a short period of time. I couldn't take the appliances yet and they were happy to store them until I could have them actually installed, several weeks down the road. I was satisfied with Fredericks. Compared to some of their competition, they seemed like they wanted my business more than say Albert Lee Appliances.

Rick was able to quickly help us identify the microwave/oven set that we selected as our replacement with no adjustment to our existing cabinetry. Since our microwave broke, and we were in a hurry, I didn't take the time to research models as I would have usually done. Rick gave us a good tutorial of our best options and helped us choose what we think is best. The installer, Charlie, called beforehand as expected on the predicted delivery date, on time, and was very efficient with the installation. He even spent a few minutes with me discussing installation of other appliances that we are looking to replace in the future, with regards to adjustments that we'll want to consider before makeing a purchase. We'll be going back to Fredrick's for those replacements.

I was in the market for a washer and dryer. I had been told that Fredericks Appliance was one of the places I really wanted to check out. I came into a very nice showroom and was greeted right away. When I explained to the sales rep that I was just starting to look for a new washer and dryer he took me back to the units and pointed at the GE and the Samsung and explained that I would want either of the units. That was it... no discussing the features or qualifying my needs.... he just pointed at the units. After several minutes I pushed the issue and started asking him to explain why those were the best units for me. At that time he did go over all the features. I really enjoy going into a store where I am not pressured into buying. Where I felt Fredericks Appliance fell short was in even giving me any details about what I might like.

Ordered a Jennair cooktop and Bosch dishwasher. Fredericks installed them both. The installers were prompt, courteous and very professional. The two sales people we dealt with were very knowledgeable and helpful. While Fredericks was not the least expensive dealers of these appliances, we found their knowledge and installation services to be well worth the money.

We were not aware of this store which is very close to our home until I read about them from Angie's List. I had researched a replacement microwave for the one that was broken so I had an idea of what I wanted. Luke greeted us as we walked in the store. They had quite a selection and Luke asked plenty of questions to help us narrow down the choices. In the end, I chose the one that I had in mind. We initially thought that we were going to do the installation ourselves but at the store I decided to have them do the installation. I'm really glad of this decision. Charlie came at the appointed time. He prepared the work area by laying down mats and cloth to protect our floor and gas range. He easily removed the old micowave and inspected the existing duct work. He wasn't satisfied with what he saw so he proceeded to correct the existing duct work. After that, the installation of the new microwave proceeded well until it came to the fit. It was going to be a tight fit. The space was just a hair under 30" in front but not the back and the microwave bottom was slightly wider than the top. Creatively Charlie used a piece of wood and mallet to hammer down the bottom edge enough to make it fit and voila! We had a new working micorwave/convection oven. All of this work happened in just over an hour. If my husband and I did the work, it would have taken us longer and we wouldn't have known to update the duct work for proper venting. Bought the microwave on Saturday, had it delivered and installed on Tuesday. Easy experience from beginning to the end.

I was greeted in a friendly, non-pressure manner when I entered the store and was given individual attention throughout the decision-making process. This was not the case at the other main appliance stores in the area (Crossroads, Albert Lee). The salesman answered my numerous questions and if he didn't know an answer, consulted another one of the friendly staff. It had a family business atmosphere with decades of experience behind it as opposed to a disinterested, warehouse feeling. At the end of the transaction I had copies of everything I needed for my rebates prepared and organized and I understood exactly what had to be filled out during installation. Their price was competitive and they were willing to match anyone elses price. The installer was efficient and very easy to work with. Be aware that Fredericks has just moved to a new location that is not on the main road in Redmond, but is just SW of downtown. I think it is actually a little easier to get to but harder to find initially.
Description of Work: Purchased Samsung VRT Steam washer and dryer, had them installed, and had the old machines hauled away.

Old dryer passed away. Decided cost of repair best applied to a new dryer. Was going to purchase a Kenmore from sears, but their web site had an issue and phone support was of no help. They did not care if I purchased from them. Angies list to the rescue. Saw Frederick's reviews. Called them and told them I did not want to kick tires, just wanted to purchase by phone. Described my needs (want a simple large capacity dryer that was in stock). The sales rep made a suggestion ... sounded good so I purchased it with installation and haul away of old dryer. The appliance was delivered the next day well within the 3 hour estimated time. The installer Scott pulled the old dryer, suggested a better way to set-up the venting ... which he did. Added the proper power cord to the dryer and installed it. The dryer was wider than the old one so he had to remove one inner door. A very nice experience. I had used a different major appliance firm before when I purchased several thousand dollars of appliances ... and the installation process was horrible and unsatisfactory. So it looks like Frederick's is the place for all our future appliance purchases. I did not rate the price because I did no price comparison. It may well have been the lowest price available for the dryer I purchased.
Description of Work: Purchased a dryer over the phone from Rebecca. It was delivered and installed the next day. I did not want to physically shop for a dryer, and needed one quickly to replace one that had died.

Sales person found us a good deal on a refrigerator model in the warehouse which fit our needs and had been mis-ordered for someone else. This resulted in a nice savings to us. Original pricing on new models seemed high compared to other places we shopped. If the warehouse model had not been available, would not have purchased at this store. Asked sales person to get us information on a new cooktop also. He said he would call with info, but never called back. We will shop elsewhere for cooktop. Refrigerator was delivered next day as promised.

The floor model refrigerator arrived with dents that they didn't have in the showroom. When my husband refused the shipment, the delivery person immediately got the sales manager on the phone who agreed to deliver a new, in box model for an additional $100. That model arrived in perfect condition. I then needed a new wall oven and returned to the same salesperson. When I asked about the pricing, he told me to call back in a few days to confirm because the manufacturer might have a price reduction. When I called back, he quoted me the new lower price. I thought that it was great that he told me to wait to see if the ovens would be on the list of lowered price items. They delivered for free and within the timeframe I was given.
Description of Work: We purchased a floor model refrigerator from their showroom when they were moving to a new site. We then returned and purchased a wall oven and microwave oven after they moved.
