It was terrific, he was amazing. He was available for calls while he was doing the inspection. The report was very thorough and was in my email the same day. He has always been available for calls and has handled eveything. He was very easy to work with.

Tyler discussed his service area and took care to answer all my questions, he explained his policies and a quick run through of the service as well. Even though I changed payment methods a couple times due to a busy work schedule, Tyler rolled with me and cancelled the electronic invoice so we could pay cash. The day of inspection, my husband arrived early and so did Tyler. When the garage proved to have a rotting roof, I received a call from my husband with an offer from Tyler to stop (if that was a deal breaker) and receive a partial refund of the inspection fee. This is impressive as a buyer because an inspector is actually offering us the chance to reduce our cost of inspection before getting too deep into the process. Very ethical in my book. Because we knew the garage is a converted carport, or whatever, we decided to move forward. My husband tells me Tyler is a friendly, respectful, and professional man who does his job with authority and has a knowingness about him. I found our phone and email conversations to be the same. The inspection report arrived by the time I was up at 5 a.m. the next morning and is so readable I drank my morning cuppa coffee and had it digested by the time the bus arrived in Seattle. We won't be purchasing this home. We do know who will be performing the buyers inspection on the next :)

Tyler Mittendorf inspected our home from roof to crawl space, including all appliances. He answered all my questions as I followed him through the inspection, and sent us a complete report the same day. During the inspection, he advise me on how to address the issues he found, and he answered specific questions I had on areas of potential water damage. He was punctual, professional, thorough and knowledgeable. I would use his services again and would recommend him to anyone who wanted a complete home inspection.

Needless to say, foreclosures can be tricky and this was no exception. Tyler inspected a 4300 sf home that had been stripped of nearly everything that could be carried. He then wrote an extensive report and basically gave me my to do list. He is friendly, prompt and extremely thorough. My youngest son just bought his first place and I recommended, and he used Tyler for his inspection. I hear he now has a thermal imaging tool, which is quite an investment.

The report did mention about roof leak (but leak was fixed and still need to be fixed proper way better than putting up some seal). I did trust his call and arrange a professional roof fixed. I assume thing will be ok until last month I went up there to replace the bathroom ventilation fan and noticed that there MOLD on plywood in some other area. He absolutely missing that. I would say he might not inspect whole attic and that was what we expect him to do. He knew that the roof was leak and be fixed, so he should look more careful since some moister still be trap inside attic and this may cause this Mold for a long time already. I'm still rating him C since he provided some good recommendation on the other part. But still, one small mistake it could lead to a big problem.

Inspector was professional and pretty thorough & friendly. Gave tips about fixing issues. Will look him up again and will refer friends to him.

I felt comfortable with the home inspector. They were professional. They found minor things that were brought to my attention.

Tyler spent almost two hours inspecting the interior of the large condo and answered all our questions. We found him to be very thorough, knowledgeable and patient. Tyler is the most thorough inspector I have encountered. He spends the time to go over the property with precision. He saved me potentially thousands of dollars when he uncovered a structural compromise in the support beams of a home I was trying to buy. Needless to say I did not buy that one. Tyler Mittendorf responded to our need for a short lead time townhome Inspection (Presale Buyer's Inspection). He arrived per scheduled time and did a thorough attic to crawlspace inspection, pointing out items and taking digital photos as his inspection work progressed. Per our request, he forwarded a thorough inspection report to us and to our Real Estate Agent 'on time' by E-mail. The thoroughness of Tyler's Inspection Report provided us with the objective information needed for our decision to not offer to buy this particular Town Home. We'd use First Choice Home Inspection again.

We were considering buying the home that we have been renting and living in for the past 8 years. Tyler spent 3.5 hours looking at the house, taking notes and photos. He was thorough and knowledgeable. When he was done with the inspection, he offered to show me a couple examples of problems he found and he gave me a brief verbal rundown of the more major problems. He told me that he would email me the complete report before midnight. The report came as promised, organized both by the type of problem he found and the urgency of the repair. I'm very glad we called First Choice Home Inspection. I would absolutely call Tyler again. He was very easy to work with and followed through with some very useful information.

He did a good job, he was clean, he was on time. He was very thorough. He went down into the crawl space, up into the attic and performed moisture tests. He checked all of the plug ins. He took his time and went through every nook and cranny.

Tyler came on time; inspected the house for two hours; answered all of my questions; he also did something beyond his service: use his moisture detector to help the plumber to locate a leaking spot. Tyler was friendly and professionally. The report is very detailed with colored pictures. This will help me to make a decision on how to remodel my home. Tyler is personable, and courteous. He was discreet during the process, but sat down with me at the end to point out repairs that need to be addressed first. By the end of that evening, I had received by email a detailed, illustrated report of the issues identified by Tyler (photos.) I am pleased to recommend his services to anyone who needs a thorough house inspection. The price was a tad high for my budget, but it was well worth it.

Tyler is methodical, professional, and efficient. His inspection lasts 3-4 hours. He engages the homeowner and buyer if they are present, and most of his inspection is performed "out loud" as he describes into a voice recorder what he is seeing and photographing. Tyler has a very specific pattern he follows through a house so that nothing is missed. If you hire Tyler, and you should, then plan on spending the time at the property while he is there. You don't have to follow him around, but while you are measuring rooms and thinking about other details, he will let you know of the positives and negatives as he conducts the on-site part of the inspection.

Both home inspections went for roughly 3-4 hours each. He takes time to pinpoint the details of the issues but also reflects the possitive things of the houses.

Tyler is amazing. I highly recommend him to anyone needing a home inspection done in the Seattle area. Our offer was accepted on a house (pending inspection). Tyler found numerous issues (electrical, plumbing, foundation, etc.) that we never noticed. We ended up walking away from the house due to these issues and are very grateful to Tyler for helping us avoid a moneypit.

Tyler was professional, polite, and very quick to respond to email and phone calls. He did get lost on his way to our site (new construction - the street sign isn't up yet), but he called to get directions and say he was on his way. He was extremely thorough and helpful. First Choice Home Inspection could not have selected a better name for themselves. After researching seven different home inspectors who met my basic requirements I settled on the fist company I found?First Choice. My requirements were as follows. I wanted a company with a good reputation. First Choice proved this on Angie?s List and BBB. Next I wanted a company that was very responsive. I fist contacted First Choice late on a Sunday evening, while in another state; not expecting to hear from them until the following Monday. I left a message, but Tyler returned my call after only one hour. His responsiveness lasted throughout our engagement; including a reminder call the day before. Even after the inspection when by loan processor had questions; Tyler continued to respond to me via telephone and with additional required documents. I also told Tyler that I wanted a thorough inspection and an equally thorough report. The inspection started at 9:30 AM and ended at 2:00 PM?yes a 4.5 hour inspection! As I requested, the report was equally impressive?34 pages. This report was delivered the very next day and included prioritized statements and recommendations about how to proceed to get my concerns resolved. In fact, the seller, who is also the realtor, asked Tyler for his card and intends to use him on her future sales where she is a buyers agent. Her comment was ?I have never seen such a thorough inspection?. Having gone through the purchasing process before, I must echo her comment. Tyler conducted an exceptional inspection! Another very important factor I liked about Tyler is that he did not oversell himself. Other companies I contacted offered me warranties for appliances and talked up their guarantees. When I researched the warranties, I found them lacking. I asked Tyler why he did not offer any warranties. He told me that like any other reputable home inspection company, he is bonded and that since he could not offer a warranty that would be worthy for the customer, he does not offer it. He went on to tell me that what he does offer is a thorough inspection, responsiveness, honesty, clarity, and through report. He delivered on all fronts! The other thing I respect about Tyler is that he was very straight forward about his price. The home I am purchasing is just over 2,500 square ft and located in another county from where Tyler normally operates. So the inspection cost me $495, which was $120 over the average price from other inspectors. I must say that I was happy to pay his price and am confident that I now know the house that I intend to purchase inside and out. The sellers really have no choice, but to repair the critical items, and even added some of the secondary items. We negotiated over three other items, but armed with Tyler?s recommendations, I am confident that the items will be no issue. Since this report will likely be read by Angie?s list users, I will also add that I make it a point to comment on service I have selected using Angie?s List. I have done so for Angie?s list vendors before in other states I have lived, and I am very happy to recommend Tyler and First Choice Home Inspection to you. If you contact Tyler, don?t be offset by his modesty. I think he can afford to be modest, because he knows that when you meet him and you see him carry out his art, you will know you have hired the right company and the right inspector!
