First Choice Home Inspection

Perfect. Everything was done to my satisfaction.

On the first home he was very thorough and did an excellent job of catching all the problems with the home. There were a bunch of problems too! Things we did not pick up on or didn't realize there was a problem. Based on his report, and due to the owner being unwilling to negotiate, we backed out. The seller actually took the home off the market to fix the problems Tyler found with the house! On the second house, it had some issues but not as many major ones. Again he was thorough but missed a few of things that the realtor, my husband and I had noticed. They weren't major items but I felt they should have been on the report. Maybe he didn't feel they warranted being on the report. The miss that I felt should have been on the report were the ventilation holes for the attic. They were damaged (due to broken/missing pieces of wood) which means that critters could have entered the attic in those areas since there wasn't netting over the enlarged holes. I asked him about this one and he did apologize for not including it and said that he hadn't found any evidence of animal activity in the attic. The other two, I didn't bother to ask him about as we had already decided to fix those ourselves and weren't that big of a deal. There were several places in the home where trim was missing. From under a window (a very large piece), baseboards (he did note the missing one in the bathroom), etc. The last one was that the carpet around the wood burning stove was not tacked down or even trimmed off around the tiles the stove sat on. Would I use him again? Yes, he was very good at spotting problems which we and the realtor, who has a background in that field, didn't notice. He saved us a lot of heartache and expense with the problems he found on the first home.

The experience was great. Tyler answered the first time I called & was able to provide the inspection on a moment's notice. He showed up on time (even though I wasn't) and got to work right away. He was incredibly thorough & my agent even commented that he was really good & was looking at things that many other inspectors usually pass over. He was good at pointing out details in person that may not have translated well on paper. He found over 50 items that needed to be fixed with my new home. I'm so grateful for having these things pointed out, as I wouldn't have found very many of the issues on my own.

Tyler got back to me right away. Came date and time we set up. Was very professional, courteous, and kind. Dealt well with the house in it's present condition. Answered questions, gave input, and the report was emailed that day with photos. Would hire again in a heartbeat.

He did a very good job. We had to call him after he came out and he spent a lot of time on the phone with us. He was very helpful in helping in giving us all of the information to help us solve our problem.

Ya, I think it went well I would recommend him to my friends. Professional and courteous. He returned our phone calls. We are able to keep the pictures with the notes on the homes he looked at for us. He sends you the pictures.

Very well. Tyler answered our call immediately and we schedule an appointment within our inspection time period. Tyler spent several hours inspecting the interior and exterior of the home. He was very hands on and took many pictures during the process. By the next morning Tyler emailed us a very complete (30 pages) home inspection report that included photos and detailed explanations as to the things that he found. We would highly recommend him in the future. We feel that he was instrumental in giving as a clear and accurate understanding of the issues with the home.

We were very happy that we chose First Choice and we ended up using Tyler for two inspections. He's very nice and we enjoyed working with him. Both times he arrived at the property before we did so he's very prompt and completed the inspections in a very timely manner.

Tyler started at 0900 as promised and told me the work would be completed by 1130 and it was done at 1128!! 24 hrs later he emailed me a detailed 4 pg list with pictures included of ever nook, cranny and crevice of our 5 bedroom, 2.5 bath, 2400 sq ft home. My Realtor told me that he was pricey but I'm glad that I invested the money to find the 3 ft of water underneath the house. He even negotiated for the homeowners to pay the price for the re-inspection of the house after the water was pumped out. I would definitely recommend! Thanks Tyler for my peace of mind on the biggest investment of my life. He even took the time to educate me as a first time homeowner of what to expect as the house ages and tips for do-it-yourself repairs.

They did a great job inspecting my home and the inspector even gave a twenty five dollar off coupon. I really liked the report and the price was very good for the size of my home. This inspector was very thorough and he explained everything very well to me.

Tyler was very responsive. Within one hour of email inquiry he responded. The inspection was scheduled next day. He did a very thorough job, spending 4 hours or so checking everything from roof to crawl space. The inspection report is detailed and thorough, completed within the same day of inspection. The house itself was built by a quality builder but Tyler did find out some items that we would have never thought of and the builder check missed out. He is highly professional, and I would recommend him to anyone that I know looking for inspection service.

He emailed us fantastic photos (annotated) along with the report and did a very good job at giving us a picture of what we weren't able to see ourselves. Everything was covered and when he felt a specialist was needed, he wrote that in the inspection report too. The builder took exception with some "nit-picky" items but that is indeed what I wanted to see! Thanks Tyler! He also was on the road after the inspection, but made sure we were emailed the report even from the road.

Fabulous. He came and provided professional advise regarding issues I had with potential water damage to the structural foundation. He inspected the attic for issues I had with leaking water. He was uncommon, professional, and knowledgeable. Tyler addressed concerns I had with settling, sheet rock cracks and nail pops, and concrete cracks in the garage. He also addressed mold in the attic and water damage from an plumbing flange that wasn't properly sealed.

Excellent people skills, and clear concise plan that was carried out address all concerns. Excellent follow up and problem solving.

Wow! Tyler did an outstanding job! He went over every inch of the house (including the attic and crawl space) and the garage (which in this case is bigger than the house!). The report he provided gives us facts to negotiate with the seller, and provides an entire list of EVERYTHING that needs to be done to house. We especially liked the clear photographs provided. We will use this report over the next year or two to fix everything and make the house just fabulous. The cost was more than reasonable, only $75.00 more than a competitor we were considering. Tyler was very personable and friendly. He allowed me to follow him for the entire inspection -- but I opted out of the crawlspace inspection. Tyler Mittendorf is a sterling example of the BEST home inspection professional. I can't think of any room for improvement. He did a top notch job.

EXCELLENT. He answered his phone each time himself, and responded quickly, despite the fact that he was clearly busy. He arranged to do the inspection soon. He was quick and the two hours passed, before I knew it. He was professional, courteous, answered all my questions and was a pleasure to work with. He left me with pages to review of his responsibility in his work, and what was and wasn't covered in such a Home Inspection (so I could hire him to do other kinds of inspection, for instance mold testing and remediation). I would hire him again, without hesitation. In fact, I plan to hire him to inspect the house I am leaving, to be sure it is up to code and fixed before I leave it.

Tyler was great. I've had home inspections before and nothing ever came close to the attention to detail that this one did. He is clearly a highly trained professional who takes pride in his work. Quite simply, I wouldn't consider selling or buying a home without Tyler doing the inspection first.

Tyler was on time, organized, & very efficient. I have had home inspection reports before, but Tyler takes photos showing the area of concern & addresses the urgency & time frame that these areas should be corrected in a concise & straightforward manner. I would use this home inspection company again & would not hesitate to recommend his service to friends & family.

He really did a good job. I had another home inspection before, and his was so much better. He caught a lot of things that the other inspector missed. He was on time, and didn't have to call and reschedule.

His oral report deviated from the written report, and this did not sit well with me.

Great experience with Tyler from beginning to end. He answered his phone, had an appointment available within a day, was early to the appointment and was kind, professional and knowledgeable. He spent about 3 1/2 hours at the house doing an extremely through job of inspecting all parts of the structure. He took digital pictures and used a digital recorded for his later reporting. He provided a very detailed 33 page report the same night with digital pictures and complete comments. For this property I was both the buyer and the buying real estate agent and I will be calling Tyler for future home inspections for my clients.

Tyler started with the roof and proceeded through everything from the exterior and interior of the house. Checking for possible moisture within the walls to water pressure in the plumbing. Siding integrity, to electrical plugs. He was very thorough, and clearly laid out graphical report that gave us the information we needed. Tyler was conscientious about his work and great to work with.

Tyler is extremely knowledgeable and professional. He is also a very pleasant person to work with. He explained all his major findings with me in person and within two days I had an extensive written report with photographs. I thought his price was very fair for the amount of time he spent. Also, he was right on time for the appointment.
