Cypress answered my call immediately and took the table the same day. I provided a color sample for them to match. I was given an estimated time of 3-4 weeks which I thought was optimistic. It ultimately took 7 weeks, but I wasn't in a hurry. They did a beautiful job on a piece of furniture that holds great sentimental value. They carefully maintained a bit of writing on the underside that I wanted to keep. They also did a fine job of matching my color sample. Cypress Tree is a little difficult to find in the back of an office park, but Google brought me close enough to figure out the unit numbering scheme.

They did a stellar job on refinishing the hutch. It was a fussy job and it came back just flawless. The cleaning and waxing turned out well. The cleaning and waxing also looked great. The base they made was cruder than I expected. I thought that it would be sturdier than it was. The 2 small repairs worked fine. In looking over the receipt, I just realized that they charged me to $220 to touch up the legs on the chair that they glued, but they never did the touchup work. It took them a lot longer to do the work than they said it would. I wasn't in a hurry, though. They had me come out to choose the stain for the refinished cabinet and I was disappointed to see my other furniture covered in a thick layer of wood dust, with other items stacked on top of it. I asked them to clean it and move it away from the busy area they put it in. Everything came back undamaged, though, so I guess it looked worse than it was. The work they did was outstanding, but the process wasn't perfect.

I contacted John at Cypress Tree and he had me drop it off at his shop. We handled everything over the phone and it was amazing what they did to this furniture. It is gorgeous!! I didn't know there were craftsman out there who did such good work. Cypress Tree was helpful in all ways, informative, timely and did excellent work.

They do wonderful work. The quality of the work is great and they are reasonably priced. I would highly recommend them. I go to them if I have any antiques that I need refinished.

Cypress Tree gave me a fair estimate of the work that would be required and performed the repair on schedule and at the estimated price. I am very happy with the result. I definitely will use them again for furniture repair.

Not much to add to the above. Frankly, did not think the chair could be repaired, but they did a great job.

I was in the middle of a house remodel and things hadn't gone well with the way my new window sills had been stained and varnished. I had the stain and varnish removed by another company and then sanded and prefinished with stain and lacquer. The sills needed more work to meet my standards so I took them to Cypress Tree. Phil was great about agreeing to work on making them look better by spraying another layer of lacquer on. They came out fantastic! My contractor installed them and I can't believe how good they look. The lacquer made them much smoother than they originally were when they had varnish on them and they are a close enough match to the other wood in the house that most people won't be able to tell the difference. I am very happy with the work that Cypress Tree did for me. I'd definitely would send my friends there that needed furniture refinished.

We bought a new house and prior to moving in, we wanted some work done on the house. One of our projects was having the kitchen cabinets refinished. We got three bids, all which were fairly close to one another. Cypress Tree's bid was in the middle. I stressed to all companies that our timeline was very tight, and that our budget was more flexible than our timing. I was scheduling almost a month in advance of work being done, so I was hopeful we could get the work scheduled in our timeframe. Cypress Tree assured me that they could do the work at the time required. Due to having a new baby, we wanted all work finished before we actually moved into the house. We were also scheduling an appliance replacement, an electrician, and a floor refinisher, as well as movers to move us in, during the first two weeks we have the house. As I said, tight timeframe. 11 days before the work was scheduled to begin, Cypress Tree called me to cancel the project. Apparently, they had a large contract come in, and all their craftsmen were going to be busy during the timeframe I needed, so they would not be able to refinish my kitchen. I was, I think quite understandably, fairly upset by this. After all, I had specifically stressed that my schedule is fairly inflexible so that this would not happen. However, I consider myself a reasonable person, and do understand that sometimes things come up. I was definitely feeling as if my project was somehow not important, but I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. I asked when it would be possible to reschedule, and was given a vague answer of possibly near the end of October. No real effort was made to reschedule my project. Also, I asked if they would be willing to give us a percentage off the cost of the project due to the inconvenience if we scheduled the work later time; this would likely require us to move out of our house for a short time, due to the odor of the products used and my desire to keep the baby away from them. I was told that the owner would have to approve it. I asked for a call back by the end of the day to let me know whether or not it would be possible, and I never heard from them. Although I can only speculate, my feeling is that my project was deemed unimportant. I have to say that I truly like supporting local businesses, but unfortunately, Cypress Tree will not receive my patronage in the future. As I have an antique bedroom set and several other pieces in need of refinishing, they have just ruined a potentially long-term customer relationship. I am now scrambling to find someone who can refinish my cabinets with only a week's notice; exactly the position I was trying to avoid.
