Description of Work: We had an existing concrete patio demolished, and a stamped concrete patio and walkway put in along with a gas outdoor masonry fire pit, brick pavers along the outside of the concrete fire pit area. Ted and his crew were excellent with communicating about design elements (where concrete met house borders, back patio step out, taking into account tree root limitations, etc.).

Description of Work: Replaced a 20 year old cedar fence.

Description of Work: I had Custom Fence & Masonry put a fence up for me. They replaced slabs in my driveway for me and put up a new fence.

Description of Work: We had pavers put in from our driveway to a circular patio and from our main driveway to our barn.

Description of Work: Remodel of an over-foundation slate patio that was leaking water into basement. They leveled, sealed, and installed a new stone patio with no impact to the existing structure.

Description of Work: Ted helped me design column footings and layout for rock walls and excavation for a new south porch on an old house. There were several challenges and his design met them all and passed Seattle DPD inspection to boot-- first time through without corrections. During the form layout and excavation, there were errors in the work of his crew. I caught these before the cement pour and they corrected them without hassle or argument. This job was small but fairly complex with several drawings. They did an excellent job and I did ask them back for a second contract for a fence - cedar 6' plank. (not just a hypothetical "would you use them again".) This fence had an unusual feature - brackets that allowed for expansion/contraction due to cedar humidity change and also servicablility from the owner side (removability of the panels). I also specified some unusual post positions - more drawings, which they followed. They got the job done rapidly and cleanly. Some lower edges of some planks were several inches above grade however, but this was not a big problem. Ted is very knowledgeable and can help guide in design and avoiding problems. On complicated jobs its best that the owner does keep an eye on the work as its done. Ted was far more knowledgeable than the other contractors I had requested bids from. He knew rebar configurations and pour specifications and helped me create the drawings which his crew would later follow and would pass Seattle inspection and would fit to the new porch and old patio perfectly. On the fence work, he would accept my design drawings and follow them. Other contractors I had asked for bids would "translate" my drawings to their style for their quote - forcing me to review their translation catching errors and adding a lot of detail. Ted was also a lot less fussy when it came to demanding a wide vegetation clear path for their work. It seemed that the other bidders were looking for excuses. I had done quite a bit of clearing, including stumps, but there was one stump that Ted's crew removed cause they figured it was too close to the fence for a good job. He also upgraded the cedar fence posts to clear - at slightly higher cost to him- just cause it would make the fence better.

Description of Work: Ted and his very capable crew arrived on time and meticulously worked around my plants and annuals blooming (not one plant was destroyed). They replaced the aggregate concrete that was removed earlier in the year by another contractor who did extensive foundation repair. Several places on our concrete patio had to be dug up or drilled through for slab jacking and Custom Fence and Masonry replaced and matched the existing concrete so well that you cannot tell which is old and new! Ted replaced a concrete step that was broken due to the ground settling underneath. The steps had a beautiful bull nose brick coping which they saved and reused carefully. As I said, they were extremely careful to protect my plants. All of the workers were friendly, careful, and dependable. They were superb and very amenable about requests such as moving pots carefully, closing our gates for protecting our pets,etc.. They beautifully restored our concrete patio for a very reasonable price. They also replaced a fence post in our wooden fence for only $100. (We had 2 much more expensive estimates for the same job; we saved about $200 having Ted do the repair.) They were very tidy, leaving no clean up for us. Description of Work: Rebuilt a neighbor's brick lampost I backed into with my car. Custom Fence & Masonry provided an estimate, corresponded w/ me in a timely manner re: doing the job and showed up on time (actually, early!) to complete the job.

Description of Work: This company did some brick repairs for me on a small railing leading to our door. UPDATE: Well, it's 4 months later and the repair fell apart. Calling the company and giving them a shot to rectify.

Description of Work: WE DID A MAJOR REMODEL TO OUR HOME AND USED THIS COMPANY FOR LANDSCAPING. THEY DID THE JOB FROM THE GROUND UP. SOIL PREP, LAID PAVERS AND CRUSHED ROCK AND SAND AND BROUGHT IN ROAN RIVER ROCK.

Description of Work: THE WORK CONSISTED OF THE EXCAVATION AND PREPARATION OF THE SITE. THEN, A WEED BARRIER WAS INSTALLED ON THE ENTIRE SITE. FINALLY, PART OF THE SITE WAS PAVED WITH BRICKS AND THE REST WAS COVERED WITH VARIEGATED GRAVEL. A 35 FT LONG BRICK STEP WAS ALSO INSTALLED ALONG THE FRONT ENTRANCE.
