I am submitting this on behalf of my life partner, Carol Rich. The Comcast account is in her name, while the Angie's List account is in my name. This is an example of how we share the costs of living together. She writes: I contacted Comcast customer service because of an interest in getting the National Geographic Channel added to our cable TV service. An initial inquiry was made on Wednesday, March 5th via the company's customer service chat function. An agent quoted a price of $18/mo additional to our bill. My life partner and I decided to think about it. I logged back in the next day, March 6, to accept this offer. Instead, a different agent, Arnand Singh, offered a new deal, including a cable package that included the National Geographic Channel, internet service at 25 Mbps, plus our phone service for $59.90/mo. We are currently paying about $115/mo for cable, internet and phone from Comcast. The transcript of the chat, which we kept a printed copy of, clearly shows that we got the agent to clarify all the essentials of deal, particularly the inclusion of the National Geographic Channel as part of the cable package. He gave me an order confirmation number of 8498330080029215. I was told service would be activated in about 20 minutes. The next day, when service was still not available, I contacted Comcast again on March 7 and interacted with agent Buangi. After a series of bait-and-switch maneuvers by this individual to get us to take a more expensive package, I indicated I would file a complaint against Comcast if I was not given the promised deal. Buangi then promised the original promised deal of a cable package that included the National Geographic Channel, internet service at 25 Mbps, plus our phone service for $59.90/mo. He agreed in writing to this as shown in the transcript. He said service would start in 24 hours and also that we would be receiving a phone call (which I took to mean that someone from Comcast would be apologizing for what had occurred). Again, this is all documented in the chat transcript. The next morning, Saturday the 8th, we woke up to find that we had a problem with our phone where people would call us and receive a recorded message that the phone was not in service. I once again contacted Comcast and the problem was corrected, but I told the agent that I strongly suspected that this problem was a deliberate act of retaliation by a Comcast agent against us for asserting our consumer rights. As of this writing, we have still not received the promised upgrade of cable service to provide the National Geographic Channel. 8498330080029215 8498330080029215 8498330080029215
