It all went pretty well. The scheduling went well. The templating went well. I?m not sure how to judge the end result as I have never had this done before. They were prompt and showed up when they said they would. I don?t have other estimates to pair against their price competitiveness.

It was just okay. During demolition of my old countertops they damaged some of our appliances and after two months I am still waiting on resolution of the repair of those appliances. The guy that came out to do the appraisal and select the type of granite was outstanding. I would use them again if they fix my appliances.

I got three bids for my new countertops. I had a combination of marble and cesarstone for three bathrooms, a kitchen, pantry and laundry room. They were the lowest bid by $1000.00. We actually had an issue where the two slabs the kitchen was made with did not match. But in my estimation, this is where this company stands out. Anyone can do the installation right, but an excellent company steps up when there is a problem. That is exactly what NW Granite did. The owner, Sergiu, personally came to the house and handled the problem himself. Even though it meant that they were going to be stuck with two large slabs, already cut, he put in the new countertops. He followed the process thru to the end, even calling me to make sure I was happy with the final product. I would recmmond this comapny to anyone.

We checked out a number of granite fabricators before choosing NW Granite and Marble. They had the best price and got good ratings on Angies List. Everyone was very helpful and professional, and knew exactly what had to be done, including the designer, the fellow who made the template, and the installers. We were particularly happy that we could have the demolition of the old countertops included in the service. The installers, in particular, were really great. They ran into a couple of challenging situations with our old downdraft fan and managed to figure out what to do. The countertops are just beautiful. The only slightly frustrating thing was that they were slow to return phone calls.

This company did fantastic work. Our kitchen and powder room look terrific! We put this project off for many years -- in large part because we heard so many stories about bad outcomes people have had with other granite fabricators. We're so very happy we chose Northwest Granite & Marble -- largely on the strength of so many positive comments we read about them on Angie's List. Their work shows real craftsmanship -- it's thorough, meticulous, and obviously done with great care. Everyone on their staff are true professionals who were friendly, informative, and responsive -- right down to the person who answers the phone in the office. Our sales rep, Joe Lynch, put up with me being a nervous Nelson and asking many questions. He offered good information about every step in the process and he put my mind at ease with his responsiveness and complete and patient explanations. The same is true for the company's owner Sergiu and Yuri, another staffer. All of their assistance made it a MUCH easier process for me, and for that I was very grateful. Their installation crew was also great to work with -- really hard-working, talented guys and very pleasant. With a company like Northwest Granite & Marble, you can undertake a remodeling project with great confidence. I wholeheartedly recommend them.

They were easy to work with and their quote is straightforward with no surprises. They cleaned up after themselves and finished the work on time. The two men who did the tile (subbed out) did excellent work but there was a small communication problem concerning when they would get here. I would suggest a little better communication between them and the customer. ( this was not the case with the granite installers).

I contacted NW Granite and Marble to fabricate a granite countertop for a vanity I was installing in my home. It was a simple job and I did not need them to do the installation, just the fabrication. I chose them because they had good ratings on Angie's List. I took in a drawing of the countertop I needed along with the template for the sink I was installing on Wednesday February 10th. Joe was considerate enough to hope the Seattle shop early so that I would have to take minimal time off of work. What I didn't realize however was that they expected you to travel to the Woodinville location to chose the granite for the job. Because I did not have the time and because I new the approximate color I wanted in granite, I arranged to have them send me pictures. This was the only problem I had with the whole transaction. Sergiu was supposed to send pictures Thursday morning but did not. I called on Thursday afternoon and he said he would get them to me later that evening. None arrived that evening either. I then tried to call Friday morning and talked to Jennifer. She tried to get in touch with Sergiu but he was out of cell range. I finally called Sergiu on Friday afternoon and got him to send me a picture of a granite slab that was could be used but only one picture. Luckily it was a good one. I then arranged to have the countertop fabricated and arranged to pick it up in Woodinville on Monday February 15th. The quality of the fabrication was excellent and the final product was everything I had hoped for. If I could recommend one thing to future buyers would be to make sure you are ready to make lots of regular phone calls unless you have set aside a large portion of the day to conduct the transaction. My primary complaint would be that phone calls often went unanswered and that they did not always follow through with promises. However when I did call, there was usually always someone there to answer my call and provide information.

Went well. Install was quick and painless plus their team of two cleaned up after themselves. We found NW Granite on Angie's list and visited their fabrication facility by accident where we met Sergui. We selected them based on price and their ability to provide us with a piece of granite that was beautiful. Sergui took the time to explain to us all we needed to know about finishes and was very personable while doing so. They we're cheaper than the other companies and could do the install a week faster than everyone else.

I give them great marks across the board. They did a very good job. They were on time and on budget for the overall project. They ate the problems that arose during the project, because it was a fixed quote job. They cleaned up after themselves after they were finished. I have a very large kitchen and I thought that the price for the work was very good. I have recommended them to other people for granite work.

I spoke to many granite installers to update our late 80s tile kitchen. I got quotes from two other well known companies. When Joe called, I almost dismissed him, but his persistence (without nagging) got me. I sent him my measurements and he came back with a quote (not so much granite price, but other things like demolition, cut outs, etc.) were far less than other companies. We met him down at Pental granite and he patiently walked us through the process. We changed our minds several times and he never seemed to mind. There was never any pressure. I checked about four of their references and even went to one woman's house to see the quality of their work. Everything was glowing. I was very impressed with the turnaround time (about a week from order to install) and the install. The install started at 9am and they were done by 2pm. The installers, DJ (Francisco), Slavik and Porfordio were professional, skilled, polite and neat. They never seemed rushed, but always stayed on task without taking a break. My kitchen was left nice and neat (except for the cabinets and drawers I emptied out into the livingroom to avoid any demolition debris, but that was my responsibility). There was a little damage to a wall when they removed the moulding, but Sergiu came right out to repair it. When I dropped a bottle on the countertop during the first week and the granite chipped, Sergiu came out the next day to repair it. I would not hesitate to use NW Granite and Marble again. I was very pleased.

In spite of having to deal with some major obstacles beyond their control, NW Granite performed very well and I'm happy with their work. My backsplash is a bit complex and actually extended in several places down to the floor. The Ann Sacks tiles I chose are of 2 designs both handmade and consequently vary in color. Francisco is a true artist and the final result is exactly what I'd hoped for.
Description of Work: NW Granite was hired by the contractor handling my kitchen remodel. NW Granite was responsible for removing my old countertops and backsplash, for installing new quartz countertops including an undermount sink, and for installing a new ceramic tile backsplash. Because there was excess quartz material remaining, they also replaced a bathroom vanity top and installed a new bathroom sink.

During the removal of the old countertop, our instahot faucet was damaged. When a replacement needed to be installed, NW Granite and Marble called a plumber who was incompetent. The plumber billed us hundreds of dollars without successfully installing (Through Angie's List, we found another plumber, who was able to do the reinstall quickly and without problems.). NW Granite and Marble paid for the replacement of the faucet, but refused to pay for the incompetent plumber.

Response from Avrio Surfaces
We would like to respond to this review so that Angie's List members can simply get an explanation from our standpoint. I’d also like to note, that in this circumstance, a third party used was the issue, and our craftsmanship was never brought into question. With that said… We do not have a plumber on staff. We do have a licensed and bonded plumber that we typically put in contact if the client requests a referral. The plumber and client will negotiate all pricing, and we will coordinate with him to make sure he is scheduled correctly. Unfortunately, this plumber was in the hospital during this member's install and was understandably not available, as it was an emergency visit. We explained this to the the members and elaborated that we did not have another plumber to refer them to at that time. The clients stated they were too busy to track down another plumber, so I offered to do so as a customer service. Because price was very important to them, (and as to just about all the clients we deal with!) I spent that afternoon researching the best rated plumber I could find with the best pricing available (and one that didn’t charge an exorbitant rush fee) and didn’t simply just pick the first one I saw. (I should have just used Angie's List!) As we in no way are experts on plumbing and were not a part of the conversation regarding the instant hot water tap, we cannot make a statement to its functionality and whether or not it truly needed to be replaced. As I picked what I believed to be a reputable plumber, his insistence that the tap was not fit to be reinstalled seemed to be legitimate and his explanation of the damage did not seem to indicate our crew had damaged the part, but that it was simply time to be replaced and if reinstalled it may very well fail in the near future. Because we earned this job through our reviews found on Angie's List, we are very sensitive to our feedback and did our best to remedy the situation. The new instant hot water tap credit was given to them because, whether or not it was our crew’s fault, the customers believed it was and that’s really all that matters. This credit covered the total cost to replace the faucet, and the old one was not re-installed. It is my understanding that the original plumber was not paid, as we advised the clients not to pay for work they didn’t feel was up to par. Again, we were not involved in this part of the process and can only go from the conflicting statements from the plumber and the member. As any good company should do, we put the client first and replaced the faulty faucet. We truly feel badly that they didn’t have the same level of experience with us that the rest of our clients enjoy. We worked very hard and went above and beyond in other areas not referenced in their review in hopes that we could salvage a good relationship with them. We would do that for any client. The beauty of Angie's List is that companies like ours can be reviewed in an honest and open forum based on how you feel a job was completed. We hope that our commitment to quality craftsmanship and customer service shown by other open and honest reviews gives you a good sense of the type of company we truly are! If you have any questions or concerns raised by this review please do not hesitate to contact us. This site is very important to companies like ours and truly want to make sure everyone’s experience with us is exceptional. Thank You for Your Time and Consideration! Found Northwest Granite and Marble at the home show and recognized them from Angie's list. Made an appointment for them to come out and give a bid on kitchen counters. I already knew that I wanted honed Carrara marble after doing much research on the topic. They came and gave a bid on the counters and then I decided to add the back splash as well. They did a revised bid which I OKed. Sergiu (the owner of the company) came out and did a template of the counters and back splash. He then talked to me about removing the overhead cabinets before they installed since the sink his guys would be dropping for me was too big to squeeze in under the low overhang of the cabinets. My husband and I took the cabinets down and with the help of the guys from Northwest Granite & Marble moved it to the floor. The install itself was a difficult one owing mainly to the fact that the kitchen is very small and very old (1902). Nothing is level or the same. The guys were at my house all day, but did manage to finish the counter-tops and the back splash. That was when we learned that there were some old pipes under the old kitchen sink that would block the new sink being dropped. This was our fault so we said it was OK and we would deal with it later. Joe from Northwest came out a few days later to check on the finished job and we expressed how pleased we were. After he left, however, we noticed that one of the outlets wasn't cut out quite right, so we called and were told that Sergiu would be out to fix it. Sergiu did come out (on a Saturday on Memorial Day weekend no less) and not only fixed the outlet but also a corner of the sink cut-out that wasn't quite right. He then helped us drop the sink (we had straightened out the plumbing in the mean time), and gave us some advice on caulking it.

Based upon the reviews on Angie's List, emailed and faxed Sergiu from NW Granite a diagram of our kitchen. Less than 24 hours later I had an estimate in hand. 24 hours after that, Sergiu was at our home with samples of granite, a brochure on sinks and a helpful customer service orientated attitude. Sergiu refined his estimate and included our powder room and steered us towards a couple of granite importers to select our slabs. Even though Sergiu was committed to the Home Show for a week and a half, he never put us aside and was more than willing to help us with questions and concerns. The day of template, Slavik arrived (on time!) and did a great job. Less than 10 days later, Slavik and his crew arrived at 10:30 AM and set about their business of tearing out the old and installing the new! They were friendly, careful and most impressively, true craftsmen of their trade. A hearty thank you to Sergiu, Slavik and his crew. You will not be disappointed with NW Granite!!

They were very flexible and punctual. Before you sign with him, he gives you a list of 3 or 4 names of people that have used him so you can call and talk to them.
Description of Work: They installed a new countertop after ripping off the old one. They also helped me pick out a sink and a faucet; both at the manufacturer price. They installed those as well.
I was a little put off when I first contacted NW Granite and Tile through the web, because before they came out, they wanted a sketch of the kitchen layout and what needed replacing. I faxed that to Sergiu and he contacted me right away. He really knows his business, had great ideas and got the job done quickly and well. The granite crew was careful and cleaned up everything after demolition and throughout. One of the corner cuts in the granite was tricky and it didn't fit well. They re-cut and replaced the piece by the next day. The backsplash tile and slate work was done by a different man, who did a great job cutting and configuring the pieces in a well-done design. The grout on the slate floor was somewhat messy and should have been cleaned up more, but it wasn't a big deal. Another company that came in later to do our wood floors took issue with the fact that the slate tile had been installed on top of the old brick flooring. Hope we made the right decision on that!
Description of Work: Sergiu and his crew replaced our old kitchen countertops with granite and installed a large tile backsplash. They installed slate floor in our front entry way and slate surrounding and in front of the fireplace. They helped us with design considerations and referred us to an excellent granite/tile showroom where we selected materials.
