Smooth as silk. NW Granite and Marble previously installed granite counter tops in our kitchen and powder room. We were so pleased with their professionalism and craftsmanship that we didn't hesitate to return to them for the bathroom work. Sergiu was a pleasure to work with, as usual -- answering questions thoroughly and without hesitation. They did excellent work and the employees were very friendly. I recommend this firm without hesitation.

They will helpful in helping me pick out by piece, came on time and installed it with my previous bar to sink. They were able to under mount this sink which had previously been a slip in sink. It looks perfect. I'm altogether satisfying
Description of Work: They are a low cost provider of granite. No showroom, just a small warehouse of granite slabs. I was able to pick out my own piece, a second, for a low visibility counter.

We ordered tile from NW Granite and Marble for our bathroom, but we had our contractor install it. We had a design appointment with Prema before we picked the tile, and she gave great advice, our bathroom always gets lots of compliments. In general their store has a great selection of tile, and the prices are better than most other places I've seen, even online. Most importantly, their staff in the store is very helpful (unlike other tile places next door) and they give great design advice. We did not use their installation services, so I can not comment on that.
Description of Work: We ordered bathroom tile from them for complete bathroom renovation. Their designer (Prema) also came out and measured our bathroom and gave design advice.

On the first visit, we were given a quote on how much EVERYTHING would cost - I specifically asked if cost included putting the sink back together, and was assured this to be the case - there was also talk about the window in front of the sink needing to be beveled - so it would be able to open, without there having to be a large gap - When she asked if the price quoted was within our budget, I said we didn't really have a price in mind, we just wanted it done for re-sale purposes...this was a mistake, because a few hours later, when she emailed us a written quote, the price had increased by $800 !! We should have jumped ship right there and then .. she claimed it was because she forgot to add in the cost of demolition and tax, but I went back and looked at the invoice and it wasn't even close...then, when they come to install, within 5 minutes of walking through the job, the guy tells me there is no beveling on his work list - and there was going to be a gap between our sink and window - I explained to him that both the person who came out for the original estimate and the template guy BOTH knew and documented the need to bevel - and he kept shaking his head "No" - I had to contact provider to make sure they communicated with the installers, and make sure they do it as discussed - The installer was clearly not happy about this - but ended up doing the job, as it was supposed to be done..then, after everything was installed, and they were getting ready to leave, I noticed the disposal was just sitting on the bottom of the floor underneath the sink - I asked them if they were going to hook everything back up, and the one installer that spoke english (The other didn't) said, "No. Don't get the counter tops wet for 24 hours" and left.... REALLY ?????? When I called the provider the next day to voice my frustration, the same person who came out and specifically told me they would complete the job and put everything back together, now had a totally different story - she would give us the name of some local plumbers to come out and hook everything back up !!! THEY NEVER, EVER MENTIONED WE WOULD NEED TO HIRE A PLUMBER TO COMPLETE THE JOB!!! Classic bait and switch . Do not trust this company.

Description of Work: I priced a lot of granite installers. NW Granite was the most competitive in price. I had one guy in north Seattle come down and quote me more for the demolition then NW's whole install. The workmanship was outstanding. I could not be happier. I had a large job including a kitchen with three "L" shapes, corner appliance garages and a bay window. The granite was put in with only two seams that are virtually invisible. The back splash was molded around outlets and window sills. By far, this is one of the finest jobs done on my home.

Everything went very well except when the countertops were measured. No one noticed that there were 2 pieces of plywood instead of the usual one piece. This caused about a 1-1/2" gap between backsplash and window ledge. That was OK as I filled it in with tile I was using to put above the main backsplash anyway. Only had, and may still have, plumbing issue as it threw drain off allignment. Working but may need to be relocated at a later date. Was not there fault though. May have been wise to leave plywood on countertops then add trim. Home Depot was wanting about twice as much for all of this FYI, including having to pay around $500 for a sink.
Description of Work: Removed old kitchen countertop & installed new countertop, backsplash & granite ledge for window. Also installed undermount sink (which was free with the purchase)

We shopped in the SODO area of Seattle where there are over a dozen stone slab and tile suppliers and several fabricators. We pulled bids from three companies with Northwest Granite winning the project. NW Granite while located in Woodinville has a showroom in Seattle. We purchased the slab from one company and NW Granite walked us through the design and sub contractor work. Prema was our sales rep and as we picked different elements of the design she secured the material and stored it until install. We went to Woodinville for the layout of the cuts. The company has about 9-10 employees and they are all extremely polite and professional. When the big day arrived the crew showed up on time to demo the existing material and installed the counters. A couple of days later the tile workers arrived to install the back splashes. We hired a local plumber and electrician to make a few modification and NW Granite was excellent working along side all of them. They left the project sit for a week so we could live with it and find any errors then they sent a guy over to do the little fixes that come with a project of this scope. When finished we were extremely satisfied. A kitchen remodel is by no means a pleasant experience but we were only out of our cooking and sinks for ten days keeping in mind we did not remove the cabinets only added four. All in all there were no speed bumps or delays in the process and we could definitely recommend NW Granite to others.
Description of Work: The project was to remove all the countertops and backsplash, add some additional cabinets and replace the sinks and faucets. The cabinets were ordered independently as were the sinks and faucets with Northwest Granite handling the granite, tile, fabrication and install.

I am so very pleased with my countertops fabricated and installed by NW Granite!! I looked around at every possible option for upgrading my awful 80's tile countertops at a reasonable cost and "hassle factor" and feel 100% confident that I made the best choice available to me to get granite countertops through Sergiu Bekchiu and NW Granite. My only 2nd guessing was whether I wanted quartz vs. granite, but other than that, the whole process was super quick and easy once I decided to go this route. I talked with Sergiu at the showroom, then he sent me to Meta Marble & Granite to look at slabs. I was indecisive about what look I wanted so when we contacted him again a few weeks had passed and it was then in the middle of the holiday season. He remembered having talked with me and then negotiated a very fair price for a fast turn-around on the templating and install. I picked out a slab and his templater came to do all of the measurements. He asked several questions about certain areas around the kitchen so that every detail (such as the shape I wanted for the corner of the raised bar) was all to my liking. As it turned out, they needed a slightly larger slab so that they could make the cuts for my two L-shaped pieces of a U layout, the raised bar and a separate wet bar area out of ONE single slab. I went to Pental instead, to look at a larger slab and give my go ahead. When the 3 installers arrived they quickly got to work on the demo of my current counters and then began installing my sinks then slab countertops. Once everything was in place they cleaned up and sealed my new countertops. By cutting all of the pieces they needed out of one slab I have NO seams in the entire kitchen. It is so beautiful and easy to clean. I'm sure they could have done this job faster and easier by cutting corners (literally!), but they took a lot of care from what it seems to me. They guarantee a 15 yr life on the seal, which I found to be unheard of in most of the other comparably priced granite products! We're doing the rest of the kitchen work ourselves, so that's slower going, but I can't wait to have a completely new and beautiful kitchen! I would (and likely will when I get to the bathrooms!) call NW Granite, and particularly Sergiu, again.

Pre... was a great person to work with as we discuss our project at the showroom and at home. She came across as an experienced professional and listened to and responded to our questions. She was prompt with providing us the estimate including estimates by the sub-contractors for tiling and demolition. We were happy with their estimate for the vanity tops, but we decided not to go with them. Our project went beyond their core business as it would require addt?l sub-contractors we were not familiar with. We would consider them again in the future for my kitchen counter top remodel.

Initial responsiveness from Sergiu was excellent. He called immediately after I filled out online a request for an estimate. I had read in other comments that they were very responsive and quick in their work and with a tight timeline for our project seemed like a fit. We set an appointment within the week for a 6 pm appointment at our home. When he did not arrive at 6 pm, I called and asked if he was close by as I had another appointment to get to at 7 pm, he said yes. By 6:45 pm I called again to say that we would have to reschedule and he said he was 5 minutes away. Claimed traffic was "bad" coming from south Seattle to North Seattle but nevertheless this did not start out on a great foot and was annoying. I would say a combination of our tight deadline (rushing), his thick accent and his inability to communicate in a timely manner through email led to a less than perfect rating. Having said that I feel the quality of the final work was good with one minor issue. Maybe I did not understand what "bull nose" meant from his written estimate or maybe I just could not understand what Sergiu was saying (heavy Russian accent) at our initial meeting but we ended up with rounded edges on the counter tops instead of straight edges which I wanted. Again we were rushed due to his late arrival on the initial meeting and since my husband was at the installation that day I cannot say for sure to what level this detail was discussed. Nevertheless I was very disappointed but I cannot put full responsibility on Sergiu. He did deliver on timeliness on the project which I have had less than stellar experiences with seattle contractors in general so I would give him an A+ here. I said in my comments that I would not do business with him again but that is primarily because I prefer email communication to phone contact and there were 3 incidences in which I had sent emails and did not receive a response in a timeframe that was reasonable to me. In addition, when I had to call for an answer to my email questions, sometimes I could not completely understand what he was saying. If I could have rated the experience with + and -'s I would have said B- to C+

It's all been very quick, smooth and professional. From the day we first contacted Sergiou to the day the granite was installed was only 14 days. Sergiou came to our house the day after we contacted him and had samples for us to see. He was very professional and answered all of our questions and concerns, and explained the entire process. We had an estimate within 3 days, we went to the showroom to see the full slabs of what we'd selected that week. The following week his crew came and installed their portion of the work. His crew was hard working and did a great job, finishing in one day. The finished product looks excellent.
Description of Work: Our old kitchen countertops, sink, faucet, disposal and stove cooktop were removed and new granite countertops and sink were installed. The next day the plumber recommended by Sergiou came and installed the new faucet and disposal. The cooktop and downdraft will be installed by Albert Lee installers.

I gave them my architect drawings, I hired them to fabricate the marble into my vanity and bathtub surround. They came out to my house and they did an initial measurement for the tub and we went down to the location where the slab was and I had put it on hold, they moved it from one location closer to the fabrication site. The largest piece of marble had been sold to another customer. I gave them the money and they did not purchase it. Because the type of marble it is, you can't just find another piece. When we found out they sold it, the woman I was working with said the would find another source of the marble and I had not heard anything in a couple weeks. You called to follow up and found out she did not work there anymore. I talked to the owner and he said he would resolve it, he has not. I have initiated all the contact with this company and they have done nothing, and they still have the deposit, essentially for nothing.
Description of Work: I agreed to have them fabricate marble for my master bath remodel and I sent them a deposit of $3,196.03 for half the project.

We have offered the service of bringing the slabs from Pental Fife to Pental in Seattle to accommodate Helene's viewing (to compare with slabs from Seattle's warehouse). All slabs were placed on hold for 4 weeks. Unfortunately, according to Pental, due to a computer error 2 of the slabs were released and sold. Northwest Granite and Marble did not sell the slabs or authorize the release of slabs. This was beyond our control and as a result put us in a very bad situation with the customer.

We hired NW Granite & Marble to replace some countertops and backsplash in a new home we were buying, after getting a number of bids and consultations. Joe did the initial client work and was very informative, professional and helpful. Since we didn't have a designer, he helped us select our granite slabs at the warehouse, and we worked with their in-house designer, Jennifer on the tile patterns for the backsplash. We ended up leveraging some leftover granite to use for the face or our remodeled fireplace as well. As the job commenced, we started working more with the owner, Sergiu, who was just awesome. We had a tight schedule for the work - wedged between the hardwood floor replacement and moving day, and they were unbelievably responsive to our needs - even rescheduling when we ran into some problems with the sink and appliances we'd ordered not fitting and needing to be replaced. NW Granite & Marble was so helpful and effective and delivered so much value, that we ended up working with them on a quick remodel of the kitchen of the house we were moving out of, prior to putting it on the market. Serigu, Joe and Jennifer all were super helpful again, and Sergiu even put us in touch with a crew to patch plaster and repaint walls and trim as well.We can't recommend them highly enough.
Description of Work: NW Granite & Marble replaced existing countertop and backsplash as well as fireplace mantle tile in the home we had just purchased. They also replaced the countertops, and backsplash in the house we were moving from, prior to putting it on the market.

I had been emailing and getting quotes from Joe Lynch at Northwest Granite. He was extremely helpful and responsive and I fully intended to use Northwest Granite for my kitchen countertops. Then all communication ended. I called Northwest Granite several times; the person who answered the phone promised to help, which never happened, and then promised to have her "boss" call me, which also never happened. It has been several weeks, my countertops have been installed by another Angie's List company, and I have not heard one word from Northwest Granite

We went down to their location to get an estimate on replacing our countertops. We were sent down to the wholesale warehouse to pick out some of the stone choices so the estimate could be accurate. We were then told that they would call us on the following Tuesday as well as send the information through our e-mail address. There was no response from them that week so on the following Saturday, my wife called them for an update on what was going on. The guy told her that the lay that had assisted us would not be in until Monday and that he would try to find our information and call her back. That call also never came and we still have not received any information by e-mail. How do you rate a company that does not make an effort for your business?

The job as a whole went very well, Joe Lynch was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions promptly. I visited the granite warehouse's a couple of times, there are so many colors to choose from so you need to have some kind of idea of what you want ahead of time. Northwest Granite was top notch and professional throughout the process. It was interesting that after I made my choice to go with Northwest Granite the other business's that I had received estimates from actually scolded me for not choosing them.
Description of Work: I got three bids for this job and decided to go with Northwest Granite based on other customer reviews and pricing. They did an excellent job on my kitchen counters and new undermound stainless steel sink. The stone I chose had an exotic pattern and lots of square feet. They matched the design and were able to fabricate around an existing window over the sink, they wrapped the window sill with granite, it looks fantastic. Only one small issue on the install date the crew was late, they did call and inform me of the schedule adjustment so all worked out well in the end. I just love my new kitchen and the were about $4,000 under two other well advertised companies. I'm thrilled with the end product.
