The job went well overall. They just kind of cleaned everything, made sure that everything was in working order and replaced the filter. They did a great job. They were friendly and on time. It worked out well. They were reputable. I would definitely use them again.

There have been no issues that I can remember were problems. They've continued to support the heater and generator.
Description of Work: I've used them over a few years to change out my old heater for new heaters (I have 2 buildings) and in Nov 2011 I used them for my installed (natural gas) generator. I use them yearly for my heater maintenance.

I only had interaction in the beginning when we hired them on. When I talked to them they gave an estimate for by the foot when replacing a gas line. Then when someone showed up it was different then the person I thought was going to come and he looked at it and said he couldn't work on it today, because there was to much involved. He then came back later. When they decided they needed to get a permit from the city the cost went up and the actual line had to resized and brought back a lot further. Everything kind of changed when they got out to the site and it took a lot longer than expected. It was quite a bit different than when I talked to them on the phone. I can't talk a lot about the work they did. Once they got it figured out and got the permit I think the work was fine, but it cost more. Had they come out and looked at it for the estimate we wouldn't have had problems. They would have known they had to do a cut out out front.
Description of Work: I helped my niece hire All Climate Heating & Air Conditioning. They did the estimate over the phone and that was one of the problems.

We were quite impressed with what information we were given and will be using them when we replace our furnace. Anthony was very polite and explained everything to us in very plain and simple language. We trust Anthony's explanations since he is not a sales person but one of the equipment installers and we trust that perspective on a product.
Description of Work: Requested an estimate for a new furnace. We were referred by 2 of our neighbors who have used this company before.

I was surprised at the end of the work when the invoice came out to twice what I was quoted. I understand that things change over the course of the work, but I provided detailed pictures before the work was started and was not notified of any changes until the work was completed. Also, the work could not be fully completed as requested, which was disappointing. When I called the company to discuss the invoice differences, the only response was that they would explain the details of the invoice. They failed to understand why I was not happy with the fact that the work came out to twice the bid and I had not been notified 1st about the change before the work was completed. I might consider using this company again, but would be extremely careful about getting a bid and ensuring that they communicate with me before doing any work. I've never had this type of thing happen with any of the other contractors I've hired.
Description of Work: I hired All Climate to move a gas line at my house. The technician who did the work was very friendly and seemed very knowledgable.

Nathan came out to do the service. He showed me how to program thermostat and made recommendations to extend the life of the air conditioner and make it more effective. He then spent a good deal of time actually servicing the air conditioner and heater. This was real surprising to me, since all the other times my system was serviced (provided by company that installed the air) they were done in less than 10 minutes and then tried to sell me another expensive product. When Nathan was finished, he reviewed what was done and not once did he try to sell me something I didn't need. I was impressed with this company and it's employees.
Description of Work: I had All Climate come to my home to do yearly maintenance on my heater/air conditioner. My thermostat had given me a problem ever since the air conditioner had been installed (by another company) about 4 years ago. The air conditioner would come on at odd times, I thought a new thermostat would be needed.

All Climate installed a new gas furnace, electronic air filter, pump, and cleaned the ducts prior to install. Installers were clean and courteous. The bid was second from the bottom of the pile in terms of cost. Their sales person was knowledgeable and was able to respond knowledgeably to our many approaches to heating our house (efficiency levels, furnace types, filter types, heat pump inquiries, and gas fireplace inserts). Beyond their sale and install of the equipment, when the air filter had an issue that came up after I cleaned the cells, their service technician was fast and efficient, and the unit was up and running within 3 business days (slow only because they had to order the part). I highly recommend these folks - couldn't be happier with my furnace and their work.

I got one bid for the work that was over $5,000, not including moving my meter. I thought the bid was high, so I got All Climate's name, as an approved contractor from Puget Energy. All Climate gave me a bid that was 40% less. Dean, with All Climate arranged the work, and was excellent to work with. Jason, the installer, was extremely knowledgeable, very professional, seemed to take great pride in his work, and was extremely flexible with his schedule (arriving before Puget Energy/Infrasource completed their work and following up with me for 3 days to see what their status was). He also personally called for the inspections and gave me tips on working with Puget Energy. Overall, my experience with this company was excellent.
Description of Work: My wife wanted to replace our electric range with a gas range. Since this required extending our gas lines from our furnace, under the house, we also decided to add a gas barbecue and gas fireplace, so the job was extensive. Because we added appliances, Puget Energy required a large meter and a new gas line.

We had a slow gas leak for our gas fireplace. Called for an appointment, and was able to get one setup within 3 days. Jason showed up on time. He quickly located the gas leak, then recommended a fix and perform the task all within an hour. Jason was professional, efficient and knowledgeable. He replaced the shut-off value, installed new flex piping and cleaned-up after himself. We're very pleased with the repair.

Started out fine with a visit to see what we needed and to be able to put a quote together. Sales person had lots of information about gas log sets with him, but some of the information about code and required fireplace screens was not very clear. He wanted to sell us a fireplace glass front, then a fireplace insert. I guess we appreciated the information but it all felt a little to sales oriented and less about information. In the end we just got the gas log set and said we would research the glass front that was 'required' by code. As it turned out a fireplace glass front was NOT required. We had some issues with scheduling, primarily with missed appointments, cancelled appointements and the like. The installation was scheduled for 9AM, our installer didn't show until about 1:30 PM so we wasted the entire morning waiting. When we called the sales guy to ask where the installer was, he stated that he did not say he would be there at 9, just that they started work at 9 and that the installer had another appointment in front of ours. Not good. The installer did show up finally and did an excellent job. The work is first-rate, absolutely no complaints here. The installer was very friendly, easy to work with, cleaned up after himself well. Nice work! The inspector showed up a few days later to sign off on the job. The inspector (not associated with All Climate in any way) was rude, abrupt, blamed All Climate for not having a ladder in place for him and basically acted like a total a**. He found an issue with a ground strap, basically because he couldn't get down into the crawl space because he didn't bring a ladder. Total a**. Some more scheduling issues with All Climate to get our installer back to fix the issue. One missed appointment, one cancelled appointment. When our installer showed up, again very nice to work with, fixed the issue right away (although the inspector was wrong) and discovered that the inspector had already signed off on the entire job. Weird. Some suggestions when working with All Climate: 1. Nail down the specifics of the appointment time and date. 2. Do not make the final payment until the project is signed off. This is less about All Climate and more in general, although we did feel like we were less priority in getting the job fixed because we had already paid in full.
Description of Work: We just moved in and had a gas line extended. We added a gas log set in a fireplace and a BBQ bib in the back yard.

Pre-install was very thorough and included the owner coming onto the project site himself. All of our options were presented, questions answered without any pressure. The installation itself went very well, the install team did a great job to ensure that they kept disruptions to a minimum and even fixed a few issues that were part of the prior installation. Before they left, they made sure we went through the use of the system and had no further questions.

"Dean" came out to do an inspection and give me an estimate. Very professional, prompt and informative. Justin did the work over a 2 day period He was prompt, knowledgeable and professional. He analyzed the job, upgraded some of the lines over the estimate (without additional charge), kept me informed, worked independently, and without wasting time. He also went out of his way to pick up a part for my barbecue, and gave me some advice on upgrading my gas meter through Puget Energy. They also gave me a price 35% less than my other bid.

The staff is very unprofessional. The office assistant argued with me indicating that I had not called to reschedule an appointment when I had called earlier and spoke to her colleague. She initially denied me calling until she located a handwritten message taken by her colleague. In several phone conversations, she reminded me that there was a "no show" when their tech arrived. The reason for no one being at the home was due to the fact that the homeowner, my mom, had been hospitalized. The office assistant continued to interrupt me even after explaining this. She continued to deny that I had called to reschedule an appointment shen I had called that day. The owner was very sarcastic and said we should call another company for work to be performed. These people have a lot to learn about professionalism, respect, and kindness.

Over the years, I had All-Climate Heating & A/C do some HVAC work on my house and the annual maintenance. I stopped using them in late 2009 for incredibly poor customer service and what I consider egregious business practices. All-Climate Heating & A/C installed my furnace and water heater in 2004. They did an A+ job on the install (after correcting, at no cost, the poor gas pipe routing done by their first technician). Unfortunately, I let myself get talked into a duct cleaning for an additional $300 which was a total rip-off. The downstairs ducts were new, so only the upstairs ducts needed cleaning. The technician cut a huge hole in the ductwork downstairs and did a horrible job patching it up afterwards. He also didn’t make any effort to clean the upstairs ducts, but instead just ran a shop-vac from the hole he cut into the downstairs duct. It was a complete waste of my money and dishonest of them to sell me on this additional “service”. Although I was unhappy about the duct cleaning, I still had them come each year to do the annual maintenance just before the winter season. In October 2009, my furnace stopped working. When they came out they discovered that the most expensive part of the furnace had died prematurely. Unfortunately, the furnace only had a 5 year warranty and to their credit, they did tell me that if it had happened closer to the warranty expiration date that they could still get it covered but six months was too far out. When they quoted me a price for the repair, they only gave me one total figure (close to a thousand dollars) with no breakdown between labor and parts. When I asked for them for this breakdown, they hesitated and told me they don’t normally do that. I explained that it was normal practice for any contractor to provide this. The breakdown was over $700 for the part cost plus $200-300 for labor. When I pressed further on the part cost, it finally came out the part cost was $550 to which they added a 30% markup. When I explained that most contractors add only 10-15% markup on parts, their response was that they had a right to make money (their words, not mine). I told them I’d get back to them if I wanted them to do the job. Luckily, I found another contractor who did amazing work and saved me over $300 from what All-Climate tried to charge. The new contractor also was able to get it done asap which we were ever grateful for as it was October & quite cold. FYI – All-Climate charged me $86.51 for the diagnosis. The last straw came just a month later in late November 2009, right during the Thanksgiving holiday with my parents visiting. Our water heater failed. The other contractor could not get out right away so I had All-Climate come out and it was a disaster. The guy was only here a moment, took one look at it and told me they no longer support this model. He wouldn’t even order the part for me. Instead, he told me I had to call the manufacturer myself to get the part! He then handed me a bill for $86.57 for the house call. I was furious. I called their office. Their explanation –they had a right to make money (again, their words). The fact that they installed the water heater and should have checked their records before coming out was irrelevant to them. So was the fact that the technician did absolutely nothing for me. They also told me that if I didn’t pay, the service tech wouldn’t get paid in an effort to guilt me by holding their own employee hostage. Although that wasn’t my problem, I decided to pay as $86 is a small price to make sure these folks didn’t send me to collections and trash my credit rating over a small dispute. I ended up having to call the manufacturer for the part (which took a few days to arrive) and had the same contractor who fixed my furnace come out. Again, he did an excellent job for a very reasonable price. Epilogue: Over the subsequent 1 ½ years, All-Climate has called me twice to remind me that it was time for my annual maintenance. Each time, I’ve reminded them (to no avail) that I will never be using them again and not to call.
