In a nutshell, hired them to trouble shoot potential outlet problem, paid $165.14 for this. Then hired them to: "Run 30 amp dedicated circuit for dryer removing old dryer plug adding with remodel box behind dryer new plug about 20 foot run wall opening required including materials" They charged me $900 for this job. The tech verbally told me it would be 3-4 hours of work. In reality it took less then two, my bad for not making sure that was on the quote, as they didn't prorate for the shorter time. The office told me the tech quotes for the job and if the job goes over they wouldn't charge me more. When my washer/dryer was delivered yesterday, lo and behold the tech installed a range outlet. Called him, he said he would be out at 8:00am to take care of it, he showed up but didn't have the part and has to go to the warehouse....didn't he do the work and know what he needed to do the job correctly? I was also told by the office personal that they would be replacing the incorrect outlet for free...it's not free, I paid $900 for a job to be done correctly!!! Please think twice people and if you go with them get EVERYTHING the tech tells you in writing as they are the ones that set your pricing.

It all went well, high quality work, except for replacing the two switches. They put in a non-functional switch and wouldn't come fix it so I had to hire another electrician to come replace it, which of course cost a bunch more since it was a separate trip. The electrician recommended a motion sensor switch. I expressed doubt since the switch was up the stairs from the main part of the garage so it would always be off. He said well we'll try it and if it doesn't work then he'll replace it. No surprise, it didn't work. But then it was the end of the day and he said he would come back. But altho I called several times, they never returned and I had to call another electrician to come fix their error, which with the "trip fee" was expensive.
Description of Work: It was a variety of things: install a new outside fixture, replace an existing outside fixture, put in a couple of new outlets, remove some old security hardware, and replace a couple of switches.

NEVER again.!!!! They upgraded the panel and they added 2 dedicated outlets. They gave a quote for the panel but then they could not get an estimate on the 2 outlets. Since they were available and I was in rush I worked with them anyway. They charged me about $2400 when 2 separate quote were about $600-$800...but since I accepted to work with them, I honored my full payment. I had more work to do, but since I was discouraged that they could not come out with a quote for the job, I told them to finish what they were doing and that I did NOT work with them anymore. I was very respectful but very clear, no more bills, no more surprise !! Somehow they sent another bill, this time $460, while there, they found another issue and they fixed (they claim). I was not aware of that, I was not asked before, and more importantly I told them NOT to do anything anymore. I refused to pay, they cannot just go around the house like it was a shopping mall and find something to fix and then expect me to pay. Their response was that they did not make much money on that fix (???) and that I needed to fix any way, so I might as well paying them for the fix. It should have been my decision, not theirs. I refused to pay, explaining my reasons. From that time every month or so they try again sending me the bill (with the past due notice by the way, even if they did not answer my 1st email of complain). The quality of their work was also terrible, the legend on the new panel is kind of random, done in rush and half of that is labelled wrong. I had 2 more electricians after them, one charged me about $300 because apparently 24/7 electric put on the wrong breakers they said, no-up-to code breakers, another spent an hour to resolve an issue that was due to a loose wire in the panel....so the panel replacement that they did was bad !!!

First off, I had a few positive experiences with them previously, hence recommended to my seller-client for the simple task. But not sure what happened in the last couple of years, but customer service quality had declined. Started out with technician being over an hour late but no one called to let the owner know. Secondly, there was no upfront communication of what the cost structure would be, i.e. $120/hr for labor, $160 for standard replacement, etc. The only cost-related information communicated was $100 flat rate for trouble-shooting, which we knew it wasn't applicable because we had written in email that it was to move a light-fixture to center above sink. After the technician arrived, per owner he was very grumpy, and was using the F-word a few times when trying to cut drywall for relocating the light. Seller was a goodie Asian Christian woman, and found that very offensive. And in the end for moving the light by 6 inches or so, the bill was over $200, which the seller felt was too much. If the labor rate was $120, and there was no parts involved, with job being about 40 mins, should have been $120 + tax. It's unfortunately that businesses in time of high construction activities they write off customer service, as if such trend will go on forever. When the down time comes which it will, home owners will be more selective and critical of who they work with.

Not so good initially, the less experienced guy they sent ran into problems matching up the fixed conduit to the new panel and made some technical mistakes. Once his boss came and saw the problems he personally came back and finished the job with excellent workmanship. I know because I have a fare amount of electrical experience. We passed the City inspection today with flying colors. If you are the type of person that gets all twisted because the job took an extra day or so then you would give them a lower rating. For me, seeing them 'make everything right' with no complaints and no fuss was great. And they stuck to their bid, $2,100 plus tax. Thank you Igor!
Description of Work: I'm a Realtor and needed a Zinsco 100 amp panel replaced in a condo unit located in a 21 story 1970 concrete and steel building in downtown Seattle, all wiring in original fixed conduit. Also needed two GFCI's in the bathrooms, and two existing kitchen circuits protected by GFCI's in the new electric panel. Replaced wall outlet for the kitchen stove and two bathroom switches.

The safety report indicated several things that needed to be done. A subsequent proposal from 24/7 Electrical & Plumbing to do that work was well over $1000. I ended up dealing with another "A" rated electrical contractor. He checked out each of the items listed in the safety report and found that many of them were not accurate. For example, several of the outlets that were identified as not GFCI protected were in fact GFCI protected; the electrical panel which was said to need to be replaced in the next couple of years was up to code and would not need to be replaced. I was very disappointed with 24/7 Electrical & Plumbing.

Dear [Member Name Removed], Thank you for your feedback it is much appreciated. I believe the pricing we provided you was for the items you were considering to replace not because they absolutely have to be but because we wanted to give you an idea of the costs. Your panel is pretty old and we did recommend replacing it in the near future to avoid problems. As for the outlets, I am not sure if this was a misunderstanding but I did check with the technician and he confirmed that the outlets he pointed out do in fact need to be GFCI protected and they weren't at the time of the inspection. I hope that even though we had misunderstandings your electrical is now working well and best of luck. Alex M. Office Manager 24/7 Electric & Plumbing

I explained the problem to Andrei on a new GFI I installed and how that and the other plugs weren't working. I originally thought I bought a defective GFI. He took a look at the wiring and quickly saw I had done it incorrectly. He rewired the GFI and got it to reset and the other outlets in the kitchen worked. I asked him also to look at a timer for our house ventilation that he kindly helped me reset.

I called 24/7 on a Thursday and they said someone should arrive w/in the hour. In 10 minutes the doorbell rang. Igor was professional and cheery. He identified the problem as a broken circuit from a single outlet and restored power to our kitchen outlets in 10 minutes. He also gave me a quick estimate on a transfer switch for my generator when I told him we were going to bid the project. His price is right inline w/ what research I've found on installing transfer switch kits. Igor is a VERY nice guy and we'd call 24/7 if we have other problems.

Had no electricity in several rooms and when trying to reset the breakers heard a weird noise coming from the panel. I called 24/7 electric to find out what the problem was. They came out within the next few hours and told me that my panel is a Zinsco brand and is a fire hazard so they recommend replacing it ASAP. They gave me a quote for $1,200 which was a good deal (I called 4 other places to get quotes and theirs was the lowest). I had them come out early the next morning, let them in and left for work. By the time I came back from work, I had a new panel and everything was working fine. The electrician did a great job making sure there was no damage to the wall and he cleaned up afterwards. I am extremely satisfied with the quality of their work and service and would definitely use them in the future.

The electrician came out and gave me a free quote the same day I called and started the job the next morning. Andrei and Igor did a great job installing undercabinet lighting and the lights and outlet for my new kitchen island and countertops. They also fixed the switch for my garbage disposal which I was having issues with for months. The electricians were very professional and good at answering all my questions, they finished all the work in one day and cleaned up afterwards. Everything looks and works great and I'm loving my new kitchen :) I've been recommending them to all my friends and neighbors and will definitely use this company in the future!

They had to reschedule the first visit due to another customer having a power outage they needed to work on. That is understandable to me - my needed work was not an emergency. He was there promptly for the rescheduled visit. When I first contacted them they were willing to give me a little bit of an estimate before coming out. There was a little extra charge which I authorized before the service was started because for the cook top there was a little non-electrical work to be done to make it functional. The total cost was still within reason. Andrei was quick and professional. He did both tasks in about 45 minutes.

The chandelier was about twenty feet high up. The old one was heavy, as was the new one. A crew of two men named Igors came and did a good job of safely taking down the old one and putting up the new one without any damage to my home or the appliance. The job took a little more than an hour. I am pleased with the work but I thought $500 was awfully expensive for this job. The handyman who was working in my home at the time thought so too.

I had power that was going out and coming back on and sometimes just dimming. It started at 4pm on Friday evening. It scared me and I knew I had to have an electrician in that night. I called around from Angie's list and I heard a lot of "well we don't work after 5" and "no weekends" from everyone I called. 24/7 Electric was responsive, they said they could have someone there and they thought they could even get him there before 5 so it wouldn't be an after hours extra charge. Sure enough the guy got there before five. The gentelman who arrived was polite, he put on shoe covers before entering my house. English was not his first language (Russian maybe?) but understood perfectly well though spoke very little. I did not feel as though we were having any communication problems at all. When he got there the power was back on. He explained that he would not be able to find the problem when the power was on. He said they could find where it stopped when it was off, but when it was on there was nothing to see. Given the sporadic nature of my outage he did take the cover off the fuse box and check connections, he found nothing loose. He then went out to the main meter to see if that had been tampered with, he found it had not been touched. He was very apologetic that he could not find the problem but asked me to call him when it went out again. I was disappointed that the had not been able to help but I could understand that you couldn't tell what was wrong when it wasn't happening. The charge I had been qutoed for an "investigation" visit was $100. He declined to take my money, saying instead I should call when it happens again. He also advised I call the power company as there might be something inside the meter box. He could have asked for the $100, and I would have paid it, he was very generous to say no. I promptly taped his card in my fuse box and I will call him if there are any issues in the future! It turned out the issue was with the power company so I did not need his services in regards to this issue.

Gave me an estimate for new GFCI outlets, correcting open grounds, troubleshooting water heater, and enclosing exposed wiring. Said they could only enclose the exposed wiring if they replaced it. Even though every other contractor disagreed, so be it, different companies have different practices. I understand that. I asked for an additional estimate a couple days later (via e-mail) about new wiring to furnace. Alex (the lady on the phone) said she would get in touch with Igor, the electrician, and that I couldn't contact him directly. She then provided an estimate a couple hours later: "A new circuit for the furnace would cost $375". That seemed like a good price (that made up for the extra costs in replacing the exposed wires) so I e-mailed the other contractors that I had spoken to, thanked for coming out to make an estimate, but that I had decided to go with another contractor. The next day, I asked her to summarize these two estimates into one so I could send to my bank (I'm doing a renovation loan)--and she changed the word "furnace" to "water heater". I was confused so I called her about it. She argued that she had misread my question even though her response was: "A new circuit for the furnace would cost $375". She blamed me for misinterpreting her words! How is that even possible?! And even though she cost me valuable time and effort in the midst of submitting my estimates to the bank, 24/7 refused to honor her original e-mail, make any corrections for her change of heart, or accommodate me on a more thorough estimate for the furnace. Instead they wanted me to wait a couple days so they could come back out to the house--but they would charge me for it. I told them I was on a short time frame and that I was under the assumption that we had already agreed on a price. I didn't have time to search for new contractors or wait for another estimate. Had they communicated the information to me that they'd require another estimate a day and a half earlier when I asked about the furnace, I would have had enough time to figure what I wanted to do and I wouldn't be upset. But instead they waited until the last minute to tell me they changed their mind. When I asked to speak to the electrician or manager directly to express my concerns, Alex would not transfer me to them or give me their contact information. I understand that what they did here is purely business. But it's not good business. If you can't show your customers any respect, you don't deserve any respect. EDIT: I appreciate your response. Please see my responses to below: -I did ask for a few additional clarifications/estimates, which I appreciate you giving me: the difference in cost between covering an exposed wire versus removing the wire altogether, why a certain wire needed to be replaced (for my own understanding, since no other contractor mentioned it), and the cost to wire to the furnace as discussed above. I also asked to speak directly to a qualified professional if Alex was unable to provide the information and was rebuffed on opportunity to do so. In addition, if this information could not have been provided without additional inspection, that would have an acceptable answer (had it been asserted from the beginning). -My bank, not I, requested confidential information. Alex and I agreed from the onset that I, personally, never needed this information and if she was uncomfortable sending it to me she could send it directly to the bank. -I apologize if my review seems unduly harsh. I realize, as part of my circumstances with the bank, that there were tight time constraints on the situation. I appreciate the quick responses, however, quick responses do one little good if they are incorrect. For future business, and what do I know, I think it would be good if you had better lines of communication open between the customer and electrician, when necessary--even if it's as simple as forwarding an e-mail to the electrician from a customer that asks, "How much would it be for wiring to the new furnace location?". Hopefully, this will reduce the likelihood of miscommunication for other customers. Otherwise, you're stuck victimizing your customers because you gave a dispatcher the authority to disseminate information that she, as you state, was unqualified to provide.

Response from 24/7 Electrical Company
Dear member, Although we appreciate both positive and negative feedback from our customers we would like to point out that you are being completely unfair to our company in this situation. When you called us the first time, we scheduled a visit from the electrician to your home right away. The electrician did a complete walkthrough with you, gave you a quote, and made sure you understand the scope of work that needs to be done free of charge. We then provided you with an itemized quote over email so you have something to show to your bank, from where you wanted to receive a loan. Afterwards you emailed and called several times asking for additional estimates (to be provided by the day’s end) and ways to lower your cost. You also requested confidential company and client information to be provided to you which we could not provide due to our company’s confidentiality policy. Our dispatcher Alex, who is not a licensed electrician, acknowledged your requests and told you she would consult with the electrician regarding lowering your costs and additional work you want completed. Alex then responded to your email promptly with the new information. After the second quote you emailed and called several times again requesting more quotes and trying to change the quote to lower your cost. The dispatcher had to consult with the electrician several times regarding the new requests. The water heater/furnace misunderstanding occurred after multiple quotes have been provided to you over phone and email and we simply got lost in all of the requests for which Alex apologized extensively and offered to talk to her manager about potentially giving you a discount for the inconvenience. You then began to threaten her by saying you will go to court and leave bad reviews everywhere possible. Although it has been quite stressful for our dispatcher, she has been honest about her electrical knowledge from the start, she did her best providing you with all of the information you requested and when you began to threaten her, she remained polite and continued to try to help. I'm not one to be fond of 4 hr. windows. I understand. They called 1/2 hr. before hand. Wonderful man, don't know his name came in the time I was told. He knew what to do and what to check. Found the problem and per there policy asked if I wanted to fix it. They charge $100 just to come and trouble shoot. I don't have a printer and gave me the "Angie's List" discount w/o the coupon.
