I am tremendously pleased and totally satisified with the work that Larry and his crew did on my home. Larry sent a crew to repair the bad trim in advance of the day to begin painting. They were delayed by rain in September for about a week, but got right on the job when the weather cleared. They completed the painting in a day and with absoutely minimal disturbance to the lawn and shrub beds. The results were fantastic. The house looks better now than when it was new. NW Quality Painting has my highest recommendation. I would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: Larry's crew replaced rotted trim pieces on the front of my house and painted the entire exterior except the doors.

Again, another GREAT JOB and experience with NorthWest Quality Painting! This painting project had more concerns to deal with and hard decisions had to be made. What to do? We had LP siding that, at first glance, was ok and with replacing some siding or replace all the siding and start anew. We called in a siding contractor and with a closer look, we found swelling on the LP siding at the second floor level of 3 sides of the house. We wanted to do it right so we elected for cement hardee siding. Well, it was a setback but it will be done right. This delayed the paint project about 4 weeks for the siding installation and get back on track again. This didn't stop NorthWest Quality Painting and Larry, the crew came in were there at 0730 to pressure wash 2 sheds, front porch, railings, eaves, gutters and treat for mildew. The siding contractor and Larry were in constant contact so to be available when needed. Well, contractor finished up on a Thursday afternoon and site cleaned up. Monday morning, 0730 the crew was showing up to prep and tape and did some painting. Tuesday was possible rain day (don't paint in the rain) Wednesday, painted almost all siding, Thursday, finished siding and trim, front porch deck and steps, site clean up, equipment gone as if never there. The house looks great and we appreciated all the input as to making a decision on the siding with the pros and cons. This is a quality company that does quality work and I told Larry from the start, you weren't the cheapest or the most expensive, but you were most impressive from estimate to the finished product.
Description of Work: Quality and Fair estimate! Prep work, pressure wash, sand, caulk, mildew treat, tape, plastic cover, clean gutters, paint front porch, railings and decking and steps, cleanup, reinstall items that were removed.

To make it a little more interesting for NorthWest Quality Painting is we want them to paint our 2 story house across the street also, Larry said GREAT and no problem. Just to inform the readers alot was going on withsecond house. We had also gone to NorthWest Quality Paintings website when making the selection for more reviews and more information about the company. We had received 5 estimates before making our selection. NorthWest Quality Painting was in the middle of the estimates but were the BEST at explaining what can be expected from them and the process. Larrys standards are high and that is what he expects from his crews. Larry gave us a good start date and on the monday morning 0800 his crew was onsite ready for the prep work, pressure washing, sanding, caulking over the next few long days. Very impressed, hard working, no messing around, very polite, every day, on time and ready for work. Larry oversees everything, if he is at another site that day, HE will be on site at sometime to check on progress, inspect, see if we had any concerns and inform what will be going on in the next stag of the project. Next prep was the taping and painting, well they came to work, under the eaves, trim, ensuring everythng from nail holes to the siding grooves. Well NorthWest Quality Painting, Larry and Crew, we would like to thank you all for a great job!
Description of Work: Since the house was built in 1972, there was a lead paint test completed during first vist to gve estimate to insure there was no surprises later. Ths house is a rambler style so as we walked around inspecting the condition and surfaces to be treated and painted, Larry was explaining exactly what would take place from the prep work before painting, what I needed to accomplish, ie trim back bushes mostly to give them access to the walls and also explaining that plants hold moisture which could cause the siding to rot.Gutters were mentioned as to repair or replace, I elected to repair a small section that had rusted through. The prep work to be completed was pressurer washing, treated for mildew, sanded, scraped, and caulked, gutters cleaned, downspouts removed for painting trim, removed house numbers, taped and laid down cloth or plastic to protect lawn, plants, windows, everythng was protected that did not receive paint. He also will useSherwin Williams Peal Bond primer for the sides of the house which receives almost constant sun during the daylight hours Paint colors were selected and game on for a great experience! Larry sugguested using Sherwin Williams A-100 paint and explained why

Larry's suggestions on color and paint were very helpful, he has a good eye for what will look right. He responded very quickly to phone calls and request for estimate. The work was completed better than expected, care taken on the details, and we will happily be repeat customers.

You know it's a really bad sign when you have to beg a contractor to take your money. These guys make zero effort to communicate or follow up, so if you're not prepared to do 110% of the work in communicating with them, you better find someone else. They sign up for Angies List to give them referrals (which is via the internet), and then they refuse to use Angies List messaging system at all to communicate. Ironically hilarious. If this contractor refuses to communicate through the internet, or for some reason is unable to, wouldn't a normal person mention that to their potential customer (me) at first contact, so I know what to expect, rather than just letting every attempt to communicate with them go ignored!! I provided my phone numbers with my initial contact. We recently completed a $55k remodel project with another contractor that was absolutely lousy at communication. It was a full-time second job for me to get anything done with him, and I'm not going through that again. This painter came out on a Friday, wrote notes on a clipboard, then said he'd get me a bid through email before Monday. I gave him my email address as he was leaving. Well Monday came and went and nothing. I thought by some possibility he may have the wrong email, so I called and left him a message, as well as send him my email through angies list via their "Contact Provider" messaging system. Now rather than do what a normal person would do, which is contact me when he sees his internet emailed bid bounce back with "no such email address," instead he does nothing. So after my attempts to give him my email address again, he contacts me the next day via email and say's "oh yeah, I had the wrong email" Well if that were true, wouldn't a normal person call me with the phone numbers I provided and ask what my correct email address was? Seems like common sense. I often sell things on Craigs List and I can't think of any case where the often entertaining fruits, nuts, or flakes that troll that site looking for deals have failed to communicate in a timely manner, so this guy is really the bottom of the barrel. Anyway, my time is far too valuable to waste on trying to give someone my money. If they're not willing to make a minimal effort to communicate, I need to move on.

Larry came by and looked at my house to give me an estimate. He seemed like a really good guy who knew his stuff. I liked the fact that he gave me a suggestion on how to fix a problem by my chimney to help preserve the paint over there. The only problem I have is that I still till this day have not recieved my estimate for the work. Other than that everything was fine, its just that I don't like to not get a response. That frustrates me and makes me not want to go with a company. There was alot of that going on when my wife and I were purchasing our house, so for getting work done on our house I have zero tolerance for companies who don't respond.

Larry was prompt and very professional. He gave me a good estimate and was very flexible on the schedule. He and his crew completed the pressure washing, caulking, taping and painting in good time. The crew was very careful. They covered Arlene's garden before they pressure washed and again before they painted. Each time they made a miniature green house with the plastic. It was amazing. They even covered my neighbor's car to make sure the paint spray didn't get on Michael's car. They were very fast, but extremely thorough. Arlene and I are very satisfied with the results. Larry used very high quality satin paint from Sherwin Williams. It actually looks better than the original. His team removed all the downspouts so they could paint behind the downspouts. They took care to mask and cover all areas such as windows, meters, doors, etc. The team covered all the ground and paths around the house to make sure paint did not accidentally get on areas that were not supposed to be painted.

From the start this was a great experience. When I contacted NW Quality Paint for an estimate I had to leave a message and they promptly returned my call. The day and time were established for the review and Larry showed up right on time. He was very professional and courteous Great customer Service. The written estimate was email to me within 24 hours. The price was very fair and reasonable. When we made the decision to use NW Quality Paint we contacted them and started the process of arranging dates and times. (This is dependent on rain) It took Larry's team 3 full days from start to finish (not 3 in a row due to weather) They pressure washed on scraped what needed to be scraped one afternoon (which included applying bleach). They then painted the entire house and some of the trim the 2nd day. They returned on the 3rd day and finished the trim. They kept the are clean as they were working and every night that they left the picked everything up. They were friendly and very respective to any input I had during the process I would use NW Quality Paints in the future!

I called the company and set up a date for them to come to the house and bid the job. Shortly before they were to arrive, I got a call saying they had been held up and could they come the next morning. I said "no problem". That time came and went with no one showing up. I called their office and (got an answering machine) and asked if I was mistaken about the time they were to come and to please call back. No response. Two days later I called again and got the answering machine. They may be a great painting company, but one "must be present to win"...

Their prep work, the scraping and caulking, was unbelievable. Their crew was just amazing. They were careful with the shrubbery and the outside work. It was excellent. It looks like it is a brand new house and it is a 25-year-old two-story house. The neighbors behind me just had their house painted and it looks like it has been painted. Mine just looks fantastic. No wonder they got four houses in the neighborhood. Everybody kept seeing their quality work and how reliable they were.

I have vinyl siding on my house, but i had been putting off getting the exterior wood trim of my house painted. I finally got it done. I got 4 quotes from different painting companies. I picked NW Quality Painting because of the value for the price they quoted. The process was easy. I can't remember if I called or emailed first, but most of our communication was done by email; this was the most convenient way for me. 3 guys worked on the house and the entire job was completed in 3 days including pressure washing, mildew treatment, priming and painting. (These were sunny days in WA.) The guys were nice and answered all my questions. I would hire them again if I needed more painting done. The house looks great!

I initially saw Larry and his crew painting a house near me and asked for an estimate. Larry was extremely pleasant and gave me an extimate. Everything they did was top of the line...I have no words to express my satisfaction.
Description of Work: If there was a rating from one to ten I would give this company a 20!!!!!! They are amazing and do excellent work. Work was completed today and I am thrilled. Larry and Mike and crew are polite, professional and do an amazing job. Not only is the pressure washing, the caulking and sanding perfect, the painting is more than I could have asked for in a 25 year old home. They also cleaned everything up and did not damage any of my plants. This company has now done four houses in my neighborhood and everyone is giving them a thumbs up. They may be expensive but well worth it.

It went perfect . Larry came out on time and gave us a very fair estimate which we accepted . Two of Larry's crew came out on a nasty day and pressure washed exterior ,then came back on a better day and did all the other prep work . First really nice day Larry and his crew of three completed all painting and trim work on that day . We were really impressed and our house looks spectacular now . Larry and his went to great lengths to clean up after themselves and not disrupt our extensive landscaping . I can't stress enough how professional they were .

Larry and his crew came a few weeks ago to paint the interior of my rental house (you can see that review under "interior paint"). Since I had such a great experience, I decided to have them paint the exterior of the house too. Although it wasn't in horrible shape, the house had had definitely seen better days (12 year old foreclosure that had been vacant for over a year). Larry was able to complete the entire job in just two days. Other painters claimed that the same job would take them a week or more. Timing and promptness were important because we needed to be able to show the house to prospective tenants. The quality of the work was very impressive. The paint, although not the most expensive, (Sherwin Williams A-100) looked great. I found Larry to be very approachable and accommodating. He did not originally plan on repainting the garage door, but was more than willing to spray it when asked. Also, he made sure to provide recommendations along the way. I value Larry's straightforward approach to business. Were there minor issues along the way? Sure, but thats to be expected when you have a project as large as the one we did. Everything was fixed to our satisfaction and I feel confident that Larry will stand behind his work should any issues arise. Im pretty particular when it comes to attention to detail and quality work. The bottom line is that NW Quality Painting offers fast, honest, reliable work at a very competitive price. I hope they are available the next time I need one of my houses painted.

I contacted Larry on 3/27/12 to get a quote for painting the interior of a HUD home we had just purchased. I really needed the job done quickly so Larry agreed to provide a quote the very next day. Larry not only arrived to provide a quote, but he began working on the very same day. By 3/28/12 most of the prep/masking had been completed. Larry told me that he would arrive at the house early on 3/29/12 to begin painting. He needed me to drop off a few gallons of semi-gloss paint for the bathrooms. I dropped the paint off at around 0800 and went to work. By the time I got off work and went back to the house Larry and his crew were completely done. I walked inside and was very pleased at how it came out. The end product is exactly what I had asked for. I really appreciate Larry's upfront and straightforward approach to business. This is my first time using Angies List and I must say that it has been a great experience. I am hoping to get Larry out to paint the exterior of the house soon!

The actual job they did, painting my house, was outstanding! Everything looks 100% better. I have absolutely no problem with the job they did. The painters were friendly, professional, highly competent. Where this company was less than stellar was in the area of communication. From my perspective, the owner, Larry Burns, is quite busy and does not place a very high priority on communicating with his customers. The initial part of the job was to pressure wash the entire house. This was supposed to begin at 830am on a Friday. I rearranged my day to be there when they showed up. No one showed up. Larry didn't call until that evening, well after the fact, to tell me they got hung up on another job and wouldn't be there until the next morning. I had to work that day so I wasn't able to be there. I understand about delays and changing plans but I would have appreciated a call as soon as it was apparent (like at 830am) they would not make their scheduled appointment. They did a nice job washing and cleaning up the exterior of the house, then they left....and then nothing. I didn't hear another word from the company for a number of days. I assumed at least a day would be required to let the exterior dry but by Tuesday evening of the following week I still had not heard anything from the company. I called Larry's cell and left a message, I also e-mailed, requesting he contact me about what their plans were for my house. I received no answer. We were in a streak of unusually good weather for October, great for outdoor painting, and I was concerned about how much longer it would hold out. Finally, two days later, with no prior notification at all, they just showed up! While I was glad they were finally there to paint the house, I wasn't happy about the complete lack of communication. I had to leave for work but fortunately I was able to return while they were still there so I could talk to them. Had they left before I returned, I was quite certain I would again be in the dark about any follow-up actions. The job wasn't complete at that time so they would be returning the next day. The job was completed over the next couple of days. They cleaned everything up but missed a couple of paint buckets on the side of the house. Overall, an excellent job of painting. I was very happy with the result. Now about the bill. It was exactly as specified in the estimate. No problem, but again, arranging payment was a problem because Larry just doesn't return calls or e-mails in a very timely manner, if at all. I wanted to pay by credit card but at the time Larry's company didn't take credit cards. I didn't know that because he never told me. I left a phone message and I e-mailed him requesting a contact I could call to pay by credit card. Again, silence. Several weeks later, Larry called to tell me he was in the middle of setting up the company credit card accounts. This was the first time I learned his company couldn't take credit cards at that time. He told me he would call back when the process was complete. Several weeks after that, he called back and I was finally able to pay his company for services rendered. A word about the estimate: I don't really know what the problem is with their software or why they format an estimate the way they do but it's rather bizarre. NW Quality Painting e-mailed me several copies of the estimate. For some reason several of the attachments seemed to include estimates from other jobs unrelated to mine as well as my estimate. Perhaps they thought it important to show comparisons with other places but somehow I doubt that those other people would appreciate their estimates being shown to strangers. The first time I saw this I was rather alarmed because I was seeing some estimate totals for thousands of dollars more than the estimate I was given. Upon closer inspection of the document I realized these other totals were for other customers. Very strange to have this included in my estimate document. I'm thinking perhaps it was an error or software problem but I don't know. Later attachments seemed to be comprised of multiple copies of my estimate. These attachments were often 7 or more repetitious pages long for just a simple estimate. They should have only been one page. Software problem? Who knows. Far more complex and lengthy than it needed to be and it made the job of trying to figure out what was being estimated more difficult than it needed to be. Bottom line: Would I use Larry's company again? I would answer with a qualified "maybe." While they did an excellent job (and I do appreciate that), I did not appreciate the lack of responsiveness to my questions and concerns... being left in the dark for almost the entire duration of the job. I understand that they were busy with other customers but it only takes seconds to leave a message on the phone, via text or e-mail. Keeping the customer informed should be standard operating procedure, it's just good business, but not responding to direct inquiries from the customer is indicative of more serious issues. Communicating with the customer needs to be placed higher on this company's list of priorities.

Larry and his team (Eric, Mike, and Rob) did a wonderful job, and on top of that, were a pleasure, and fun, to work with. Larry impressed me from the outset when we were asking for bids. Once I selected his company he worked closely with me in the final selection of colors and the paint to be used. I had initially wanted to use the paint we had on originally...one that had lasted for 23 years. However, that company did not offer a Satin finish, so Larry offered Sherwin Williams Duration...their best paint...that just happened to be on sale for the same price as the others I was considering. During the entire job, Larry was open, honest, and willing to work with us on the final results. This included his willingness to answer questions, explain approaches, and to give us timely suggestions to make the outcome better. Larry is an excellent supervisor...always checking the work, correcting when necessary, as well as doing a considerable amount of work himself. It was clear his team liked and respected him. Our house now looks "new", and matches exactly the outcome we had envisioned (i.e., the paint scheme was borrowed from a home we saw in BC, Canada a few years agao). Nearly every day now we are able to see the house under different lighting conditions, and are marvelled at how good it looks. In sum...we would gladly recommend Larry and his crew for any type of work they perform - they are truly great!

The owner Larry Burns came over on time and gave us a bid within the same day. His price was reasonable and so we set up the work. He called us and set up an appointment for pressure washing the extrior to prep for painting when the forcast we favorable. His employees showed up on time and completed the pressure washing job very quickly. Then, when the forcast was favorable for painting, he called and set up an appointment with us for starting the painting work. They showed up on time and were done in less than two days. The job was done very well and we are very satisfied with the whole package.

I got them off Angie’s list and had a bad experience with them. They were not professional. The work they did was okay. They told me they would first patch all the holes in the wall and fill any cracks. They did not do that though. They painted everything and had to clean all the area where they had to refill. They broke one of my cabinets. On the hinges they took the cabinet door off and put tape in those places. They then painted on the hinges. There were several hinges on which they had left paint on. I made a list of everything that needed to be fixed to my satisfaction. They came for the third time. I had pointed out 14 places where they had to make corrections. It was a very bad experience. The guy argues with me about the placed I had to get painted and lots of other things. He did not finish the job on time. One day he did not show up either. I finally sent them pictures of things that I wanted fixed and never heard from them. I sent them two emails and two voicemails. They had still not called me back. They were not prompt and their customer service was horrible. Their rating on Angie’s list was good and that was the reason why I went with them. I was surprised with the kind of service they gave me.
Description of Work: I used Northwest Quality Painting a month ago to paint my kitchen and dining room. They also painted the kitchen cabinets.

Larry Burns is the owner and he was the only painter that returned my email (out of four) and he gave me a quote within 24 hours and we set a date. He actually took advantage of good weather and prepped early, had to wait one day after prep for rain, then rolled on one coat, sprayed on another, they had to spray even more to cover the older, darker color - but no extra charge. They finished painting in one day, work was excellent, clean-up excellent. They did exactly as requested, no problems. Communication throughout was excellent. They applied a Sherwin Williams sating for the walls and a gloss for the trim, colors are perfect. Paint was done 10 days earlier than we planned/expected - excellent experience overall.
