Emerald State Electric

They were great. They were very pleasant and they were on time. There was a problem with one of the outlets that shorted after they left and the electrician that was here turned around and fixed it and there’s been no problem ever since which is something to do with the wire. He was a very nice guy. He had to come back in rush hour traffic and fixed it and it turned out great.

The electrician and apprentice arrived early after giving me a call to let me know they were available earlier than our scheduled 2 PM appointment due to a cancelled appointment earlier in the day. As I had a few contractors scheduled that day, their new 11am arrival time worked well. They arrived and introduced themselves. I showed them around the house and what work I had explained over the phone when the owner of the company provided a rough estimate for the work. They then explained what options I had for pricing, either a quoted by item list, or an option where I paid for supplies and they charged an hourly rate. While I was showing the electrician around the house for the various items that needed to be repaired, the apprentice had taken a look at the electrical panel and determined my guess of a failed breaker was not the cause of the inoperable outlets. I opted for them to charge me by the hour for the work, as we discussed the troubleshooting of the inoperable outlets and they were not sure what the issue may be without looking into the outlets and wiring. The electrician handled troubleshooting the inoperable outlets while the apprentice changed out the ungrounded outlets to CFGIs, corrected the deficiencies in the electrical panel and corrected the polarity issues on 2 outlets. Overall they worked quickly, the job ended up being a little more than the quoted price due to the issue with the outlets being more involved and requiring more than a breaker change. I will hire them again if I have a need for any additional electrical work in the future.

I'm very happy with the thoroughness of the inspection. Our house was built in 1962 and we have MANY issues. The panel is old and insufficient, we have grounding problems and loose outlets. There are also some "do it yourself" problems from the previous owners. The service person did a very thorough job and gave me a checkoff list with estimates for future repair work. He also itemized everything according to seriousness so I know what is essential to have repaired first. Overall, very happy with information & inspection!

Price was reasonable and have scheduled for them to rewire house in March.

It turned out good. The electrician seemed very confident and was relatively thorough. He was rushed a little because he scheduled multiple appointments. I certainly got my money’s worth. He spent a considerable amount of time doing the inspection. I am still deciding on whether I am going to use them for the repairs.

He did a wonderful job and Brian was very professional. We were very happy with him. They give a discount of $10 to Angie's List members!

Last August we had an electrical fire. After much consideration we finally got our insurance involved and needed at least three estimates/bids. Though Dennis was not the lowest bid his estimate was the most comprehensive, professional, and on point. I submitted all of the estimates and he was the only provider acceptable to my insurance company. Dennis's employees were able to do the job the same week that the insurance company accepted his bid and had the job (including the extra job of ceiling light and smoke detector installation) completely finished in two days. They encountered unexpected problems with the panel installation and stayed until the job was done, easily a 10 hour day! Dennis and his employees were clean, polite, and professional. All in all I would definitely use Dennis and his company again and I highly recommend them to everyone.

They Arrived 8 minutes Early and Waited for the Exact time to Arrive @ 8:00 AM Did the Whole House Checkup then Started there Time for Any Extra Stuff That you had them Do. They were here And gone In less than an Hour 1/2. Really Know what They Are Doing.

We just moved into a new (old) house, which I knew had several electrical issues. Dennis was prompt, courteous, and thorough, and went through everything in the house. We talked about options for making repairs and he was very sensitive to costs. I'm having him back to do more electrical work in the coming weeks.

We made an appointment due to a problem with the thermostat for our furnace. They called us and was able to come out a day earlier. The technician looked at the thermostat and recommend we call a heating place to come and look at it and he told us since he was not able to help us that he would refund our service call in full. I will call them again in the future in needed.

Seems like good work. Looks professional and everything done as promised. Cleaned up afterwards. No complaint at this time. Owner appears and seems highly professional and a like able guy.

They were excellent! They were very accommodating and helpful. They answered all my questions honestly and thoroughly. They pointed out things. They will be coming out in March to install some copper wires, replace all my outlets with gfi outlets in, and some additional work. I have put a down payment on for the additional work.

I called and they met me the next business day. Great journey man electrician and one apprentice. reasonably priced and very experienced. They finished restoring power to the basement and upstairs bathroom in 3 hours. Very efficient and experienced problem solvers.

We called Emerald State Electric and Dennis, the owner, answered our call right away. He sent his foreman out to assess the problem. The foreman spent 45 minutes tightening the connections on the electrical panel. After doing this, he determined that the problem was outside the house, so that meant that the power company was responsible for fixing the problem. He said to call them and they would come out right away (which they did). Since the problem was one that the power company was responsible for Emerald State Electric did not charge us anything, even though the foreman spent time traveling to and from our home and determining what the problem was. We believe that they are a very honest company. We will call Emerald State Electric the next time we have an electrical problem and refer them to others, also.

We were extremely pleased with the provider so plan to use this company in the future.

The breaker for the sub panel was tripping every once in awhile Dennis was able to get to the root of the problem explaining everything and pointing out my options. At the end of the day everything was very neatly redone, i now have two very clean looking electrical panels with all breaker properly labeled.

It went great. Dennis (the owner) was very knowledgeable and answered all of the questions we had. We would definitely recommend this company to others. He could have gouged us and recommend a rewire, I though we might need it as I have alumunium wiring. But, he inspected it and cleared it. Turned out to be a very small bill; to what I thought would be a contractors excuse to shaft me. Good guy and very knowledgeable. I asked a ton of questions and he gave me very professional answers.

I called in the morning for an estimated price and the work was done that afternoon. I couldn't have been more pleased with the response. I also got some tips on what might be involved in some other work I'm considering. The only small item was that it was a wet day and there were some tracks on the carpet from the electrician going in and out, but they cleaned up easily.

My husband is now using an oxygen machine and when we plugged it in the first time it threw a breaker. I called a few other companies and none could come to check out our breaker box for at least a week. This I found to be a real hardship because I could not get my box to reset and lost lighting to half our house and the loss of some outlets, not to mention my husband not being able to use the oxygen. When I called Emerald State they made sure that a tech would be out in two days. The tech came early, examined our box and reset our breaker. He then did a thorough test of each circuit and what was plugged in to every outlet. He then determined that if some high electrical usage electronics were switched to different outlets, we would not have the same issue. Everything is working now with no problems what so ever. We were charged the flat rate of a two hour service call and it was well worth for the peace of mind knowing that my husband could use his oxygen. The tech was so courteous and kind. Definitely would recommend this company.

Electrical services provided with professional and prompt service. There was a creative solution to a problem given which was appreciated. The services provided were not from the same person who gave the estimate, which caused the difficulty of re-explaining the job to the worker at the time of service. Since the work was under the house, I had to go under the house to explain it and ensure it was done correctly. The final connection performed inside of a junction box was left open and no cover put in place leaving it incomplete and not up to code. All other work was done well with professionalism and courtesy.

What a great experience! Their response to my problem came same day and had a fine electrician ( Brian) out by 7 am Christmas Eve !!! He worked quickly and courteously. Brian offered several solutions which gave me financial options. Wonderful! All electrical work is expensive but this company works very quickly!! Brian even tightened up a few loose plates causing switches to cut out.
