Emerald State Electric

Purchased a home built in 1900, so house needed a complete re-wire. Emerald State Electric removed all old knob and tube and replaced with new wire and house is now up-to-code. They did an excellent job, very clean and were very easy to work with. Explained what was code and what needed to be done and how they needed to do the re-wire. Installed all new plug-ins and switches and light fixtures I purchased. Also, installed a generator switch on my panel and a special plug outside the house. I would definitely recommend Emerald State Electric for any electrical job that is needed. I have more remodeling to do in the future and I will be calling them to do the work.

This was our 2nd project with Emerald State Electric. They were punctual, polite, professional and did the work without a break. We are delighted to have a reputable company we can call on in our area.

Went well. I experienced a surge in early December which caused 8 lights to go out over a two week period. They showed up on time, checked all outlets and the main box. Everything was good. Provided options to check the surge (i.e. PSE) and work my way inside the house. Coincidentally I've had no light issues since. Provided quotes for whole house surge protection and generator connection to main power box. Overall, they were on time, professional, and provided really good options to think about.

I called Emerald State Electric and the phone was answered on the second ring. It was great to have my inquiry answered by a live person! Dennis was knowledgable on the phone and asked several pertinent questions. Since I don't know much about electrical fixtures, he was very patient and helped me understand what all needed to be done. He ordered a fan, which I paid for up front. We scheduled an appointment at a time that was convenient for me. The morning of the appointment, Brian and Jake called me to give me a heads-up they were on their way. They were courteous, friendly, and professional. The fan was installed carefully and efficiently. They left the workspace clean and took all the garbage away. I found it very handy that Brian had a tablet computer that was set up to take credit card payments and electronic receipts. The service was under 90 minutes. Although the service was pretty expensive, I feel confident that the job was done correctly and by professionals. I would gladly recommend Emerald State Electric, and am grateful for the services of Dennis, Brian, and Jake.

As Expected the Electrician showed up per his arranged time. He checked the electrical system and informed me of things I could do to imporve it. He let me know that everything is working as it shoud and that my home would benefit from a Whole house surge protection instalation. He sent me a bid for doing that work and I may use his services. Though I believe I have an electrician friend who will do the job for less money,

Provided competitive price, great attitude and very professional. Brian and additional guy worked really hard to accomplish tasks. Came to the house early to accommodate my schedule. End result, a certified electrical connections to support a manual transfer switch for a generator, added a 110V line for a second refrigerator, a 50A circuit for new induction oven, and 110V for downward draft system. And fixed both panel with missing hardware and proper labeling. Would definitely use again in the future.

Excellent and prompt email communication ensured technicians were prepared for work when they arrived. Brian completed job in 1 hour, when estimate was 2-4 hours. Also eager to offer advice on self repair of damaged part of another charger and provided quote for ballast replacement. Solution-based, knowledgeable, fair, pleasant and professional.

Outstanding service. We had a tree take out the service entrance late in the afternoon. These folks showed up in spite of the hour and stayed until they finished. We had power the same day as the storm. It was dark and windy and they just carried on and finished the job. The inspector came to look at it today and was awed by the quality of the work. Thanks guys. You're a good company.

Excellent job and customer service! Brian and Brady represented the company well and showed true professionalism. They were patient with me as I worked to determine the best hanging height of the new entry way chandelier and happily adjusted it several times until it was just right. Our front porch light had burned out. The initial plan was to replace the light bulb only, but after I said we weren't happy with the amount of light on the front porch from the 20 year old fixture Brian suggested that if I wanted to purchase a new light fixture, he would instead replace the entire fixture for us at no additional cost. WOW! After a quick trip to the local DIY box store, I found the perfect fixture and it was done! They completed the other fixture installs while I was out, so no time was wasted. These guys are not only professional and fast, they are also very personable and friendly, which I really appreciate. We are extremely happy with the work and will definitely call on them again!!

Showed up on time, they were thorough yet efficient, and very professional. They were very patient with all of my questions and more than willing to help me prioritize what work needs to be done. Excellent experience all the way around, now to save the money for the fixes!

He was great. He discovered a mysterious GFCI outlet that for some unknown reason was behind the dishwasher, and instead of ignoring it, stuck around to replace the outlet when he found it defective. We appreciate the above and beyond service.

went well. He found a few items that were of concern to the local inspector. Had his team come back to fix a few things and had the system inspected - that went well.

Dennis, the owner and estimator, won the bid against a competitor first on merit (competent and detailed), and second because his bid was also a lot cheaper... Major Issue: Well, I think I got what I paid less for, which was 2 guys who were late and had little regard for safety. Not once did they turn off any circuits while their hands were actively working on live electrical; the leader of the two responded with "we're used to doing this all the time" when I offered to turn a circuit off for them, something they should have proactively performed or asked for. Later, lights flickered as his partner replaced a GFCI outlet on a different circuit. WILL NOTE REHIRE -- even if they're bonded and insured, there's nothing to prevent a dead or injured man's family from dragging a homeowner through court anyways. Minor issues: Cleanup at the end of day was rushed and left some significant dust behind (perhaps they should've arrived on time). The quality of the finished work was otherwise up to par, except the networking cable plugs, which was not a big deal. (I'm a network engineer and I redid the network cable plugs myself.)

They were excellent! I reached out to them before the four business days were up. They reached back out to me and informed me that we were out of their service area. They were very helpful in instructing me on how to get the refund. They told me I had to contact Angie’s List. They even followed up to make sure I got the refund!

It went really well, they had a tech scheduled to come out to my home but he ended up getting tied up and so the owner himself came out the same day. I use a breathing matching at night so it was important to me to have the power fixed. I would get the company an A+ for repressiveness if I could.

I didn't have a good feeling about my experience.

They called to say they were running late and arrive an hour later than scheduled. They go right to work when they arrived and were very professional. They seemed like they were in a hurry to get to their next job so didn't clean up as well as the could have. Although that didn't impact the job that they did.

they fit me in even on short notice,, showed up when they said,did all the work in timley mannor., didnt try to sell me work i didnt I woulneed. Brian went right to work, found all the problems and worked to get them done fast. i would call them in again if i have anyother work to do.

The gentleman showed up on time and went beyond what he needed to do. We discussed the type of lighting that should be installed in certain outlets and I found it to be helpful. We also entertained the possibility of putting outdoor up-lights but it sounded costly so I had to put it aside. We passed the inspection and he gave us a couple of heads-up on what builders would require now. It was strictly informative and I was very pleased with him. He was a young gentleman who was hardworking and had solid work ethic. It was really a pleasure dealing with him and I've already recommended him to some of my neighbors. We managed to stay within the price of the deal and I didn't have to pay anything extra.

We needed new heaters installed on short notice, as they were holding up a re-financing. Greg was able to come out on very short notice, offered a fair price. I had asked him to install 4 heaters. When it became clear that we only needed 3, he cut his price quote accordingly without hesitation. He was proficient, fast and fair. I'd hire him again.
