Everything went well they even arranged for me to pickup the set on a non business day. They have always gone out of their way to help me with parts on appliance brands they don't even carry.
Description of Work: Bought washer and dryer set

Last month, I had a Bosch Dishwasher that needed to be repaired and it was still under warranty. Bosch referred me to Largent's but Largent's asked me to use who Sears for repairs since I had not purchased my dishwasher from them and they would lose money on this repair job. Disappointed with them for asking that, I did agree to use Sears for the dishwasher. Now a month later, I have this Maytag washing machine that is more than 21 years old and with between 8 - 15 loads a week, it has been an awesome washing machine. My husband thought that perhaps the clutch had gone out on it and since Largent's advertises they do repairs and since they are the only one in Pullman to do so, we took it there as a matter of convenience - thought we'd give them another chance. Since we live out of town about 10 miles, my husband and son took it in to save on the service call. As they were dropping it off, after it was in the store, the employees just ignored them for a bit. My husband thought about taking it to Moscow but needed to get back to work, so he didn't. When someone finally did come over, the employee was totally badmouthing Maytag and talking about how poor of a washing machine this is - definitely not after 21 years of 2 adults and 5 children in the household - and then began extolling the virtues of a Whirlpool washing machine. It was dropped off about noon and I was at work at the time and hadn't spoken to either my husband or son about it so when I got home around 4, I called Largent's to inquire about it. The woman who answered the phone was very rude and started off by chewing me out for calling about it as they had clearly stated that a diagnosis would not be available until tomorrow morning at the latest. As I explained that I had been at work and hadn't spoken to anyone about it yet, her voice did get a bit nicer but I was thinking, we should have taken it over to Moscow. Communication for this repair was poor. Two days after dropping it off, when I called, they told me a sock had gotten wedged between the barrels and it would be ready Tuesday. Not ready on Tuesday. On Wed., when I called about it, they told me it needed a new pressure switch and maybe they had one at the Lewiston store. When I called about it on Friday, the lady was quite rude again stating that the part had been ordered and they would let me know when it was ready. It was finally ready more than two weeks after it had been taken in. The washing machine has worked fabulously since we got it back so they were knowledgeable about what they were doing and what needed done. But communication and their people skills leave something to be desired. It is my impression that if I had originally purchased my appliance there, that they would have been quicker and more concerned about their customer service.
Description of Work: I had a washing machine that had a wayward sock get in between the barrels and a pressure switch that ended up needing to be replaced. The machine would not agitate nor fully drain the washer. Since it would not agitate, a belt had been burned up. They took the machine apart and found the sock, replaced a belt and replaced a pressure switch that had been worn through the years.

Terrible
Description of Work: I went in for a dishwasher to be repaired. The guy who helped me mocked my choice of brand, then told me it would take 3 days. Took a month and they never called me about it. Every time I called the woman who answered the phone was extremely rude. I will never use then again

There are two reasons why I always buy my appliances from Largents. First, I believe in supporting local business whenever possible. Second their service is outstanding. Here's an example of their service: Many years ago, the afternoon before Thanksgiving, our oven stopped working. We were discouraged because that meant that we wouldn't be able to roast our turkey or bake our pies for the holiday. We were sure that there was no way that we could get it repaired in time. I called Largents anyway. They weren't sure whether anyone could fix it for us that close to the holiday. However, a little after 5pm we got a call from them telling us that their repair person would be here shortly to have a look at it. He had been on another job and was on his way home. Well, he fixed the oven and we able to produce our Thanksgiving feast after all. We were very grateful, and ever since we've been loyal customers. One other thing: buyers often purchase appliances from major big-box stores believing that they will get a better price than that from local appliance dealers. This is not the case with Largents. Their price is only a few dollars higher than big box stores, but comes with superior local service.
Description of Work: I used Largent's Pullman Appliance last August (2011) to buy, install, and service a dishwasher and wall oven.
