This company was incredibly slow to respond both over the phone and over email. They gave us the runaround for over 3 weeks, only to tell us that they were short staffed and could not complete a job they had been hired to do. They were also very rude and irritable over the phone. We have reason to believe they provided a false, low quote on purpose, so this is a word of warning to anyone considering using their services (if they even ever call you back). Full story: WEEK ONE: We bought a house with a stipulation that the knob and tube wiring be replaced. The sellers agreed to it, but about a week before closing, said that their electrician was too busy to complete the job before closing, so we would have to schedule an appointment with them after the closing date. We called them to schedule an appointment as soon as we received the quote they gave the seller, and they said that Charlie gave the quote, but was on vacation. He would be back the next week, so we could schedule an appointment then. WEEK TWO: Well, when we called on Monday the next week, they said he had returned and would call us back after catching up on his work. A week went by, and we never received a call, and we moved into the house. WEEK THREE: The Monday after we moved in, we called, and they said Charlie was catching up on work still, but would call us back. We never got a phone call that day, so we called again on Tuesday. Again, they said he was playing catch-up, so we could expect a call later that day. Again, no call. On Wednesday, we called, and the phone went to voicemail, so we left our name, number, invoice number, and waited... no call. We called again on Thursday... and Friday... and nobody picked up the phone. We finally sent an email Sunday night, stating we had tried to reach them by phone, but maybe email would be better. An auto-reply was sent, stating Wendy was out, and Charlie would respond, so we sent an email to him. WEEK FOUR: Well, we got a response from Wendy the next Monday at 4:30 stating that the employee living on this side of the water had left, so they could not finish the job. 1. If you can’t do a job, just tell us so we can find someone who can do it! This company very unprofessionally wasted our time by continuously leading us on. 2. I don’t understand how the person who performed the initial part of the job, gave the quote, and was obviously still working there, is all of a sudden unable to perform the remainder of the job? 3. To be honest, we feel that the sellers possibly knew these people and had a fake, low quote given so that we would fall for it and they wouldn’t have to pay/credit us as much as it should have been. If this is the case, it shows how shady this business is, and any other homebuyers out there should be extremely wary if you are given a quote from this company by the sellers.

Generator installed and operates as intended. Allows us to continue to work during periodic Puget Sound Electric Corp outages, (typically several per year, from a few hours to 3 days). Electrical Service was added to existing residential wiring, including obtaining necessary permits, inspections, materials, installation, and cleanup. Work was done properly and functions as intended. Workmanship was very good. Generator service has been well done, although follow up annual service was not scheduled, and I had to call again, (after I forgot for year), to get the next year's service. Work met all requirements, was done professionally, and necessary activities such as permitting and inspections were handled properly. Initial work including all parts, labor, and associated design and installation, was around $11,000. The overall effort was well coordinated with other work by other contractors, taking place at same time. Generator maintenance has been around $270/year, and is ongoing, the most recent being July of 2015. I would not hesitate to use Peninsula Electric for additional electrical work, or to recommend them to others for similar work.
Description of Work: Install Generator, add electrical service to remodeled porch, perform annual service on generator, add circuits for office space.

I called on 12/9 to get a quote for the installation of two porch light timers. An appointment was made at 10 am the next day for the owner to come out and see the project. The owner arrived at 9 am, inspected the switches that needed to be replaced, and stated a quote would be emailed to me by the end of the week (12/13) but it never arrived. I called early the following week, and asked the office staff about the quote, and was told she would need to ask the owner about it and get back to me later in the day, she did not. I called again the next day, asked for the owner, and the office staff took my name. She came on moments later and said that he was busy, but would have the quote out to me soon which he did. I called Peninsula soon after receiving it, and said lets schedule it. The office staff said she needed to talk to someone about scheduling the appt and would call me back. I informed her that I needed them done soon, and that we were running out of time. She stated she understood, and would call back shortly. That is the last I have heard from them, and 3 days have passed. I have since gone with another company, a consumer should not have to beg to have work done.

Response from Peninsula Electric Corp
This customer has made a fraudulent statement. We did go out to look at his porch lights and an estimate was sent to him via email on December 18, 2013 he called our office on December 19th to schedule AND STATED THAT WE DID NOT CALL HIM BACK FOR 3 DAYS BUT HE POSTED THIS ON DECEMBER 20, 2013, SO IT SEEMS HE IS TRYING TO GIVE US A BAD NAME. We were not able to get out there because our office was closed that following week for Christmas. I apologize that we were not able to have the guys work that week but family time is an important part of our company's beliefs. It is not our policy to not do work or to have the customers beg to have the work done. If we are to busy we let our customers know that instead of making promises of installation when we know we are not capable of completing.

It went smooth they arrived on time (which is a plus and I even got a reminder call the night before) They had one guy digging the hole while the other worked on the house meter. When the new pole was in they swapped the power and had Labor and Industries out to inspect it while all of this was happening. The job was complete and they even took the old post to dispose of it for me.
Description of Work: Had a leaning power pole on our property that needed to be swapped over to a new power pole and also needed the meter changed on the house.
