Came 2 days in a row, waited 3 more days to finish, lack of parts. Very unprofessional and rude was actually flipped off. Left the toilet loose both days made a mess in the bathroom and tracked wax from toilet ring through the house. Set up large snake unit and camera unit on living room carpet with no pad and left tracks through the kitchen. After 5 days of dealing with them toilet still doesn't work. Hiring new plumbers today.

They came out the first day and "fixed" the problem. I already had the toilet pulled. Once they left I put the toilet back and that night the toilet was clogged again. They came out the next day and I assumed they'd fix the problem for free as I already paid for the prior days work and it was the exact same problem. After I was told I'd be paying for the second trip as well I asked to talk to the owner. I was told he was on vacation and that he'd call when he got back. Never called me back so I called 2-3 more times (after a couple weeks) and he never would call me back. So I paid twice for the same work and customer service was horrible as the owner would not call me back after being assured that he would. I certainly wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.

No service performed.
Description of Work: Read some reviews on this co. some negative, mostly to do with service etc., but thought they might isolated. I called (after hours ((5:15 pm)) the answering machine took me to another number that just rang. Got a call 1/2 hour later and told them my situation, which was a leaky toilet. The gentleman told me someone would call the next morning between 8 and 8:30 to schedule. Not one phone call. Called someone else. Won't use in the future, that's for sure.

It went reasonably well. The original effort was to clean out the existing drain pipe but it turned out to be crushed and of no use. Fixing that turned into a much larger project and a significant cost. The work went quickly and looks fine now. I brought in a landscaping company to regravel and finish regrading and so on. I am confident that this will take the rainwater away to disperse in the back area as planned. The work was done and paid for on the last day on site. I neglected to ask to have their advertised Senior Discount to be factored in until the next day. The response was that the discount was already factored in, it just doesn't show on the invoice.

Budget Rooter came highly recommended to us and I can see why. From the minute I called and spoke with Angie she was not only friendly but extremely professional and provided expectations far better than we thought. Mark was able to go out to the home later that day and fixed the leak. When he called to let me know he was also very professional and explained what was going on in a way that I could understand which was so important since we are thousands of miles away. Even when I had to call Marl back to ask a question that I forgot he was so polite. Our tenants were very impressed as well and even asked that we keep Budget Rooter in mind for any future plumbing needs. Angie and Mark also worked together to give us a recommendation regarding another issue. I know in the future we will definitely keep Budget Rooter in mind and use them again. I would highly recommend this company to family and friends!

My wife hired this company to locate and fix a piping leak * inside* our bathroom wall while I was on duty and not able to come home. A separate restoration company had already cleared the drywall away from the leaky pipe so a plumber could come and make repairs. There was no water or any sign/indication of water outside the wall. The plumber showed up on time, diagnosed the problem to be a leaking gasket on the sewage side of toilet ( not in the wall). He charged my wife for his incompetent, ludicrous guess as to where the water was coming from and left. The next day when I was came home, I was blown away by how clueless the plumber was. It only took me a matter of 5 minutes to identify the actual leak by observing water running down a 3and quot; sewage pipe in the wall. I simply can't believe this guy does this for a living. He couldn't even find a leaking pipe with water flowing down the sides. Update 03 September: Budget rooter contacted me today, to apologize and attempt to correct the situation. The lady I talked to stated that had I called with my complaint (that the technician simply failed fix the problem) budget rooter would have come back and actually performed the work I had paid them to do in the first place. Hopefully this is true, and if anyone else has a problem with budget rooter I recommend calling their office and letting them know, because charging $150 to literally do nothing is completely unacceptable.

Response from Budget Rooter Plumbing Service
We were called out to search for a leak. Upon arrival, fixtures as well as some walls had already been removed so standard leak search processes could not be performed (turning on fixtures, flushing etc...). Our technician proceeded to introduce water into the exposed piping in an attempt to duplicate the issue. With the home owner’s assistance, having her run water upstairs and our technician inspecting the piping below for water in an attempt to duplicate the leak, he was unable to see any signs of water seepage while actively searching in this capacity. While continuing the leak search, he observed discoloration around the toilet (which also had already been removed) and was able to deduct that there had been leakage from that area. That does not exclude that an additional leak could have been, it just did not duplicate itself during his investigation. During a leak search, very much like when a mechanic works on your car, a duplication of the problem needs to be seen and/or obvious damage in the area in order to assess the faulty part or piping. Unfortunately during this search, a duplication of the leak mentioned by [member's name removed] was not apparent. We did not receive a phone call or any other communication from the home owner at any time after our initial search. We would have been happy to continue this search in an effort to find and repair the issue, with the added information that [member's name removed] had seemed to find at a later time. This continuation would have come at no cost to the homeowner. Being unaware of any dissatisfaction until reading a negative review on Angi’s list, and not having the opportunity to address that dissatisfaction is highly unfortunate. We are here to serve our customer and will go to great lengths to insure their satisfaction. We can only do that, if given the opportunity to know that they are unsatisfied or that a problem exists. We will make contact with this customer and try to explain this to him. We will look for a remedy to this situation now that it is brought to our attention. Our reputation is worth so much more to us than a leak that did not duplicate itself on our first visit. We want this customer and all of our customers happy with our service. We would not be in business for so many years (since 1995) if we did not provide an exceptional service that we stand behind and give care and competent services to our valued customers. Update…September 4, 2013 We are thankful to have had the opportunity to make contact with [member's name removed]last evening. We want to hear from our customers and make sure that they know we are here for them, that we do care and that we stand behind our work. Our hope is that this was accomplished during our conversation. We apologized to [member's name removed]for not being able to duplicate his leak on our first visit and asked him if there was anything we could do to make him a happy customer. He politely declined any attempt on our part to do so. He stated that his problem was already fixed. We appreciate [member's name removed] advice to other customers to call our office with any comments they may have. We love to hear from you…good or bad. We are glad it is mostly good! Thanks again [member's name removed] for allowing us to communicate with you.

They showed up on time, did the job well, and charged a fair price.

When they arrived, I took them to the basement so they could see the pipes for the bathtub drain. They immediately determined that the clog was in the main line from the house to the sewer so they proceeded to open that line and cable it. I left briefly to get some fans to help dry out the basement and when I returned, they were just pulling the cable out of the line. I could see there were a few remnants of roots but they did not have the camera equipment with them so there was nothing else I could see. They had also cabled the bathtub line while I was gone and determined that the p-trap and overflow were corroded through so the bathtub absolutely could not be used until they were fixed so I authorized them to replace them. My tenant was there at that time so I went back to work. After work I stopped by to see what the situation was. When they had explained about using a camera to see the pipe, they had asked if it was okay to mark the area in front of the house if they found any problems so I looked and saw some paint near a tree. The pipe and overflow had been fixed and they were gone but there was quite a mess of black water on the area directly under the drain they had repaired. I had no interest in getting them to come back out so I cleaned up the mess myself and did not bother calling the office. They had said they would write up the findings. All I got was an invoice with the explanation and quot;No warranty due to root intrusion. While cabling overflow on tub it fell apart and needs replaced was leaking before I started but now is beyond fixable.and quot; What I find annoying about this is that I knew before they ran the camera that there were roots but what I didn't understand was that finding roots would negate any warranty and I expected to read something about the condition of the pipes. I have no idea if the pricing was high, low or average. The only way to get pricing for plumbing is to have someone come out and give an estimate. Since I just paid over $1200 for 5 hours of their time, I think it would be prudent for me to take a day off of work, call a number of plumbers about a hypothetical drain clog and see what they come up with so that should this happen again, I'll have an idea of what it should cost and who I should call. I won't be calling these guys.
Description of Work: I called them about unclogging a bathtub drain. They were there within an hour. They explained that they could not warrant their work unless they ran the camera and looked at the line itself and explained that the cost for that would be an additional $300. The house is old and while I'd only had one drain run slowly in the past, I felt it would be better to assess the system at that time. The drain backup was at the bathtub on the first floor. In the course of cabling the bathtub drain, the pipe which had leaked a little bit on occasion over the past 6 months was completely destroyed and had to be replaced.

We apologize for the time lag with this review and promise to check this site frequently to be more informed of the great things and any concerns that our valued customers may have. My plea to customers is please call us if you have any comments, good or bad. We can't address any issues if we are unaware of them and we love to hear from you. We share your comments and praises with our staff each week. We do make efforts to check up on customers within 48 hours but often we are reaching a voice mail. This call was determined to be a sewer line that had backed up due to root intrusion and replacement of a waste and overflow. We cannot warranty a rooted line as roots will continue to grow even once flow is restored causing future problems at some point that we cannot determine or control. The camera was introduced into the line at the customers request to verify the condition of the line and to see if immediate services were needed, ie: broken pipe, offset, belly or extensive root intrusion etc....It was determined from that camera that the line was compromised with roots and there for we could not warranty it. We restored flow to the line and replaced a faulty waste and overflow in the tub that fell apart as we cabled. It is unfortunate that [ member's name removed] did not feel she should call us to insure her satisfaction or to be heard. Our customers satisfaction is always our goal. Please help us meet that goal by letting us hear you. Thanks for the opportunity to address this.

I called the company , as I had not been convinced that they had done any more than a temporary fix at the time of their visit and they told me it would cost me an additional $140.00 for them to come back out. The "technicians" told me before they left my premise [I had questioned them because of the job they did and they had written on the invoice...attempted to clear kitchen sink line] that because "they have no control on what I pour down my drain they would not warranty their work " even if I called them back tomorrow "as it may be a different problem". They blamed the problem on my home construction and older plumbing configuration, but I've cleaned it out several times myself and it has stayed clear for about 3 years. I just didn't want to do it this time. Now I'm out the money and the drain is still clogged and it will cost me money for them to botch it again! They took my money and didn't do the job.
Description of Work: I hired them to CLEAR the kitchen/bathroom drain. I wanted them to open the line and root out the drain. They didn't root the line and now I'm blocked up again. It was past the 30 day warranty as stated on the invoice by a few days.

We were hired by the member to clear a kitchen sink and bathroom drain. We proceeded to cable/rooter out the line using normal procedure but were not successful in getting the line to clear. We proceeded with cabling the line from another location (the roof vent) and were successful in clearing the line. When we left the member's residence, the line was draining and remained clear for more than 30 days. In our experience, once a line is clear, it does not clog again unless something other than water is introduced to the drain or there is a deeper plumbing issue. Although it is unfortunate for the member that her line clogged again, we do not feel it is due to any work on our part. We feel that we performed the work that the member hired us to do. - Wayne Sylvia, Owner
