JC Painting & Remodeling

We are very satisfied with the results. Beau was very professional throughout this project--from our first meeting through the final QC check. The entire bathroom was completely updated, and is fully functional. The finishing details are top notch! I was especially impressed by the drywall work. This project included repairing a small leak that had affected the downstairs ceiling. The drywall repair is seamless and unnoticeable. JC Painting also worked with us to assist us in making cost-effective and attractive choices regarding project supplies.

We really hate to have to give this company such a low grade... After having a different painter back out of doing our job the night before he was supposed to start our work, after stringing us along for three and a half months, we were understandably anxious to get someone else to do the work. We were pleased that Jeff responded so quickly and was able to come and look at our job the very next day after contacting him. Jeff impressed us right away with his obvious confidence and extensive knowledge of all things relating to remodeling in general, and our project in particular. He thoroughly explained his approach to each of the different things we wanted done, and we understood his "process". He was very high energy and enthusiastic, which made it a little difficult to talk to him; we could hardly get a word in edgewise. However, we liked him overall, and agreed that he would submit a bid for the job the next day. The next day he promptly sent a carpenter out to measure for the baseboards and trim. Later that evening, we received the promised bid via email. Our first impression was that the estimate for the work seemed high, but since we aren't very familiar with the industry, we decided to call Jeff about the bid to get a few questions answered. When questioned, he became defensive and somewhat belligerent, as if we had no right to ask any questions about his bid. We were hoping to see if there might be a little "wiggle room" for negotiation, to save a few bucks. Apparently, that really offended him, and he was adamant that he was giving us the best possible price for the job that he could, and went so far as to tell us that he didn't need our business, so if we didn't like his bid, we could go find someone else. We were shocked that he had jumped to the conclusion that we didn't want him to do the work, and we tried to smooth things over and tell him that we still intended to give him the job, but just had a few questions first. It was nearly impossible to get him to listen and understand that we were NOT telling him that we wouldn't choose him, but at the end of the conversation, we had agreed that since this was all moving so quickly, we would definitely like him and his crew to come the next day to begin work on painting the ceilings at least, giving us time to talk about the rest of the job and sleep on it, as well as knowing we could get the rest of our questions answered when we saw him the next day. The next morning, he didn't show up around nine or so, as we had agreed. We finally decided to check our email, only to discover that his office had sent an email after 8:00 that morning, telling us that they had decided to not do our job after all, saying we wouldn't be a good fit for them, because we questioned his estimate! We were blown away, because we had NEVER said that we didn't want him to do the work, just that we still had a few questions. We never got to complete that dialogue, because apparently customers are not allowed to question his estimates... We also were appalled that neither he nor his wife had given us the courtesy of a phone call to let us know that he changed his mind and wouldn't be coming; we had to find it out after waiting for them for a couple of hours. Bottom line, we found Jeff nearly impossible to work with, unless you simply went along with everything he said, recommended, and wanted to do -- at HIS price, no discussion allowed. He just was so busy constantly "selling" us on his skill and "process", that he wouldn't stop talking long enough for us to ask a few valid questions. He was a horrible listener and so prideful, that it ended up costing him our business -- by HIS own choice, not ours. VERY unprofessional, as it turned out, in spite of our initial good impression. Frankly, we have NO DOUBT that his work would have been professionally completed and beautifully done, but his poor communication skills and attitude ruined everything.

My experience with Jeff, his crew, and his office staff was excellent overall. I have an 80 year old home with cedar siding, and Jeff was honest with me from the start about the special issues we would need to address. The office staff was terrific in coordinating scheduling and payment, the crew was polite and respectful, and the job got done in a very timely and efficient manner. The results were terrific! There were some minor touch-up issues after the fact which were handled quickly and without complaint. The price was a little high, but for the perks of working with a contractor who knew his craft, listened, and was responsive -- I would hire his team again, and would recommend their services.

Estimator Beau Star responded to my home on schedule, took measurements and wrote up an estimate contingent upon them finding hidden problems. We accepted the estimate and work began as promised. The installer was very personable and easy to talk to. The work was done professionally and clean up was done daily. We found some water damage and I was made aware of options and costs to correct the problems as we progressed. The project caused minimal disruptions to our daily routines. The finished shower was better than we expected. The quality of work was top notch and we would not hesitate to hire JC Painting and Remodeling for future projects.

The people were courteous and professional, answering all of our questions. All work was accomplished promptly, on schedule. Our only minor complaint was that calking around the windows does not appear complete and we will be re-calking to prevent leaking. They did make some minor cosmetic repairs while accomplishing the main work. We would use JC Painting and Remodeling again.

JC Painting did an awesome job! We knew it would be hard to find someone to come out so late in the season to stain our deck (we purchased our home at the end of July) and sure enough many places that we called were booked solid. JC was busy too but they went out of their way to slide us in between their big jobs. Our deck looks beautiful and will survive the wet winter ahead.

Jeff and his Crew (Carlos and Jesse) were Absolutely Amazing to Work with!!! Their Professionalism and Attention to Detail made this Project a Total Success!! They were Always on time and finished the Project ahead of Schedule at a Very Fair Price. If Your Home needs to be Stained or Painted, We Highly Recommend JC Painting and Remodeling Company!!! Great workmanship and excellent service

They are more for just painting. If you need the carpentry work done, there's a separate person. It was more than the other bid. They seemed disconnected. They do painting primarily. If you need carpentry and siding that I needed, they have a second person who bids that separately. You basically have 2 contractors for one job. I didn't want to do that. There was just no reason to go with them. It was such a brief thing. It was not very long at all. I gave them an idea of what and they walked around. They were here 10 or 15 minutes. I got email bids back from them. They were good. They knew what they were talking about. It was 2 separate appointments. It was 2 separate bids and I kind of had to put them together. It was not an easy job. They do a lot of painting in my little town. The painting guy was out within 2 or 3 days. The siding guy wasn't a JC Painting employee. It took longer for him to come out but only because they get real busy here as soon as the weather breaks. He knew what he was talking about. I just didn't want to deal with 2 different contractors. They were knowledgeable. They knew the painting side of what I needed completely.

I called him 3 times. Finally he Set-up an appointment. Beau came out for the estimate 8 days later. Measured and took my drawing, said he get me an estimate. I waited 6 days and sent an email request about an estimate. It has been 9 days (May 10th) since without a call, text, or email about an estimate. Would never have him out again.

GREAT! He was punctual and very professional. Gave a B on price because he's not the least expensive but his work warrants the cost. Excellent job and will definitely hire again when I'm ready to paint the rest of the interior.

It was exceptional. Being a first time homeowner, JC Painting and Remodeling made this incident seem small. Working with Beau was the best part. He was professional and kept me calm throughout the process. He and his team were knowledgeable and worked very efficiently. I work from home and rarely had any disturbances. The finished product was superb. We will hire them again for any of our home improvement/repair needs!

They refused to provide all services quoted to me. They were late to start the project in the first place several times. The amount of time it took them to complete was way over the estimation, and my neighbors said the workers spent most of their day smoking cigarettes and socializing. They had me paint everything myself, and then sanded the wood but didn't repaint it, so I had to do it twice. The work was sloppy and unfinished. After I hired them I found out a friend of mine from work hired them recently and they warned me to stay away. I didn't listen and I should have.

Jeff and his crew did an excellent job. I am still getting compliments. The paint they used really gave it some pop. House looks brand new. They did a nice job getting it cleaned and ready to paint and cleaning up after job was done.

The exterior job is beyond all of my expectations. A truly great job, the house looks 30 years younger already. They are scheduled to paint the interior later this month and I truly can't wait.

The painting crew was very professional and efficient. They were here on time and never left a mess. The owner was here at one point everyday to check on their progress.

Painted our three story home (two coats) which included power washing, caulking, and replacing a couple of broken boards in siding. All surrounded areas on the property were protected and the paint job outstanding. We were also referred to an outstanding designer to help us choose colors for this project. Jeff, Wendi and team of JC Painting & Remodeling were a delight to work with! We would absolutely recommend them for your next project!

Excellent. They were on time, diligent, thorough, careful, efficient, pleasant, the best. They did everything they said. We are very satisfied. I highly recommend them for both carpentry and painting jobs.

After waiting 5 weeks, I let them know I still hadn't gotten my estimate back and I was informed I'd need to wait another 30 days before they would review the work I needed done. I don't think this level of service is professional. I will be going with a different contractor for sure!

JC Painting and Remodeling was an A+++ company to work with! Jeff (the Owner) was extremely professional and knowledgable starting with the free estimate. When we selected the company to perform our service everything that was discussed on the estimate was completed to perfection. The Office Manager ( Wendi) was exceptional! She kept us informed with updates and information we needed to complete a flawless experience. Our home looks beautiful and we are extremely pleased with the outcome of the service provided. We felt the cost was extremely competitive with other estimates.

Jeff did an excellent job of blending stain into the old finish on the wooden doors on our house and finished them to look like new. He also refinished our 18' wooden garage door and painted the man door on the garage to protect it better. Jeff made sure I was happy with the colors he recommended and explained to us why he was choosing the products and how to care for the doors. I had never hired a painter for work like this so the price seemed high to me. That said, I am happy to have professional work done right the first time and on schedule. He had it all done in one day with his helper!

Everyone was very attentive and professional! They started when they said they would and finished without leaving a mess or hurting the plants around my home. I would highly recommend them to anyone considering any painting or remodeling. I will definitely use them in the future!

From the first meeting until they were done - it was top notch professionalism and very friendly! Jeff and his entire staff were a pleasure to work with. We have a tri-level home on a sloping property and they hand rolled the entire exterior in 2 days. My husband used to be a custom home builder and was extremely impressed with the work that was done. And my neighbors have remarked how nice it looks, too.

The workmanship was exceptional. Kyle and Nicole did a great job with the carpeting of the bedrooms and closets. Our realtor couldn't even find the seam where the access was to the crawlspace. Mark was amazing. He did the floors by himself, and treated our home and us like we were family. Russ, Jeff, Carlo and Dave were also very meticulous in their work and all staff cleaned up efficiently at the end of the day. We had a slight issue with our shower installation regarding grout, but the guys persisted and Mark found a grout with which he, and we were happy to use. All in all, we recommend these guys ultimately. We put our home on the market on a Monday, had 3 offers on Tuesday, and sold on Friday. I believe that most of the credit goes to these professionals who helped us revive our home. Thank you, guys! You're the best!
