We got exactly what we wanted. Dealing with Blacklotus from the walkthrough and estimate to job completion was very rewarding. They took the time to answer a lot of questions before and during the job.

All projects that we have hired Black Lotus for have been completed in outstanding fashion. As retirees we do most of our landscaping maintenance ourselves but on large projects We call Black Lotus because of the depth of their knowledge and their professionalism and great communication.

This is the second time we've had them out. The crew arrived on time and got right to work. The pathways were really bad (the back part could almost be mowed) but they got them all cleared. They cleared out a LOT of mint and other weeds. They also cleared off the patio and trimmed back a lot of plants. Their first time out they also trimmed and shaped the spring bouquet, camellia, japanese maple and other trees.

This is the fifth time we hired them and will continue to do so.

Black Lotus Landscaping did an outstanding job with landscaping in our backyard for a very good price. They listened to our desires and then provided a selection of plants that exactly fit our needs. Everything in our yard was done in a day. They provided ideas as well, including some rocks/boulders that break up the area and make it look much nicer. Jon and his team did an excellent job helping my husband and I transform our front yard from a dead, overgrown mess to a low maintenance property value booster. We came to him saying we want something easy to care for but striking. We also needed to tear out an old, dangerously steep staircase and have a new one put in. And finally, we needed the massive layer of ivy covering our retaining wall removed. It was so thick that it had to be ripped out by an excavator. He came back to us with detailed plans that made his vision easy to picture and all services were priced competitively (including my favorite part, the stone slab staircase). I also appreciated that they specifically try and avoid planting invasive plants or overusing harsh chemicals. They were completely transparent throughout the whole install, making communication a breeze. Plus, the entire team seemed to enjoy being there, putting an energy into their work that was refreshing to see. Since the install, Black Lotus has been quick to respond to any questions or concerns I might have. I look forward to working with them when my backyard needs an update!

They took my absolutely neglected 1/3 of an acre yard and with the only instructions “make it like a forest floor that I don’t have to mow” they created a beautiful yard with trees, salal, ferns, grasses, and wood chips. They used madrona logs to build up beds. They completed a large raised bed bamboo planter. They used Japanese maples, rosemary, and blueberry plants I had and skillfully rearranged them. They suggested they grade and re gravel my drive. They ripped out 35 years of blackberry brambles. And they did not go one penny over my budget. My neighbors were amazed at how quickly they transformed my yard. My small dogs are delighted to run around and explore all the space they have without getting lost in the weeds. I am delighted to look out over it and plan to put a lawn swing out in the yard. I have a pretty bad knee and could not take care it it myself as it was, and had abandoned a couple of projects. They finished those and gave me a yard that is gorgeous and low maintenance, and a level drive so I don’t slide into my fence when it snows like I did last year. I highly recommend Black Lotus.

I wish all of the businesses I made large purchases with demonstrated the high level of service and integrity I received from Blacklotus when they landscaped my yard. My project involved an extensive amount of landscaping on a medium-small lot challenged by existing fencing, HOA restrictions and drainage issues in a newly constructed housing development. The installation included regrading, irrigation, and the addition of new topsoil, large & small rockery, pavers, and plantings (trees, shrubs & various grasses). The plan was executed in a timely and efficient manner. Excellent on-going communication was maintained throughout the project. Clean-up was provided after each days work. The finished results exceeded my expectations. My yard not only looks great; it functions far better as well.

I called them and they came out and did an estimate. I agreed to the cost and they showed up the next week. They did a very nice job cleaning up the yard and it lasted nice all winter. I had them weed the gravel areas and spray vegetation killer, mow the lawn, trim, weed and clean up flower beds, and put down week killer on lawn in both front and back. They cleaned up all the leaves. There was a team of about 4 of them and it took about 3-4 hours. Will try and use them again for my house that I live in for spring aeration.

The service was okay. There was a fence and under it was a wired fence, and the guy came out and cleaned out the middle part of the driveway, and he cleaned along the fence where there was no wire, and where there was wire, he did a little. He was a nice guy. It took him about 2 and half hours. The big deal was for one person for 4 hours, and he came and knocked on my door, and was still pleasant. He told me that he had found wire around the fence, and he tried going around it, but it had dolled it's weight on his weed eater thing, and it was going to cost $40 for an hour. He was leaving, and the work that he did was only 2 and half hours. If he would have asked me if I had more work, I would have said, but instead he tried to make me feel guilty about the $40. He drove up in a $70000 truck. He made me pay, but I told him that I didn't know about it. If he had approached it differently, I would have just said move this from here to there and go, but instead he tried to manipulate me. He didn't show me his equipment, he just told me that it had dulled his blade because he kept hitting the underlying fence. He is in a group that started this landscaping business, and a lot of people are going to go and take over the world landscaping one yard at a time. It's not that he didn't do good work during those hours. It wasn't awful, and I didn't get what I paid for, and the reason he gave me was that he had to take his steel plate back to where he came from to sharpen it. What he did, he did well, but he only did half of what he said he was going to do.

Great job but clippings were left because we paid for a specific amount of labor hours and they ran out of time. I would have preferred that they ask for additional $s and do a full clean up but they performed the work just as we asked and paid for. I would use them again but I would be more clear about the expectations.

Jon and his team of landscapers came out on two sessions as our bushes were pretty overgrown and the yard was in need of a lot of TLC. The trimmed all the bushes, pulled the weeds and did basic landscape maintenance throughout the whole yard. They arrived on time both times and were polite, professional and knowledgeable. They did a great job and we were really pleased with the end results.

Missed the initial date but was able to reschedule in 24 hours. Did a good job in the time allotted.

It turned out excellent. I paid $175 for 4 hours. I paid other people before and for that amount of work it was $400. For that price it was a great deal and these guys did that. I was so glad that I did it because the gentleman that came, he was really good. He looked at everything. He was friendly but didn’t waste my time. He knew exactly what I was saying when I walked around with him. We targeted certain things that he was going to do and he did it. So I was very pleased with them. They really did an excellent job of pruning. It was a big deal purchase. I thought it was exceptionally fair. I considered it a really great deal because what I got for $175 I know I have paid double for it. I saw that advertisement of $175 for 4 hrs. It ended up to be 2 man hours because it was 2 men working. I would probably do it again. The quality was great. I wasn’t here when they came but I know exactly what my plants looked like before and they trimmed them. I was very happy with how they did everything and they took it away. A lot of landscapers charge me more or they don’t take it away. They did both. There was probably a good deal of leafage that came off and had to be carried away. He contacted me. I emailed him and told him that I really wanted him to come out and look at job. I wanted his advice so he definitely set up a time right away. He came out. He told me that he will be back next week or the end of the week and he did. I didn’t have to chase him or call him. When I did call him, I got him. John was his name and he was very good. I thought the prompt service was good. He was right on time. He was to the point when he came. He managed to be cordial and not make me feel I was rushed because this was the first profile. He sent me the bill when he said he would. I asked him for another estimate but there’s no way I could do, I figure it would be high. I paid him a separate amount of money to take a tree down. My shrubs needed to be pruned and I needed it to be done by someone who knows what they are doing. I had paid somebody in the past and I could have done a better job. I was happy.

They arrived a bit late, however they were polite and easy to talk to. They did the job asked and did it well. The company and I had a miscommunication at our initial scheduling, thus prompting an unfavorable review at the time. Jamie came through with an apology and a 5% discount for the trouble. I appreciated it.

It went very well. The guys worked very hard and quite fast. I'd purchased the Angie'sList deal that is a flat rate for a set number of hours -- they actually seemed to try to get as much done as possible (rather than working slowly to hope I'd have to pay more for the work to be completed).

This turned out great! Not only did they mow, but they did all the line trimming and they dug out paths around my greenhouse, shed and raised garden. They did a wonderful job and I was very pleased.

Getting it refunded, because they couldn't do the service within my time-frame. They were very nice, professional and competitively priced.
