I have used the company for a number of years as they are always willing to tackle my tree trimming and removal needs. They do excellent work, charge fairly, and are always trying to fit me into their busy schedule.

This company was excellent in every way. The bid was competitive and also was carefully written and well explained. The work was done in a professional manner with excellent attention to safety, understanding of aesthetics as well as lots of care to not destroy our native ferns and salad. Crew was on time, very careful, and worked very hard throughout the project. They also worked well together as a team. This was a big job, involving dangerous trees next to our home, and a necessary expense for us. We were extremely pleased with the results and would work with them again!

Jon and his crew showed up on time, were very professional, worked quickly and ensured any questions or concerns I had were immediately addressed. I had four trees removed, two of which were right next to a storage shed, both trees were removed with precision and all the branches/debris were cleaned up. I also had two large areas cleared of brush, downed trees and stumps. Jon made quick work of the overgrown brush and exposed areas of my property I have never seen.

I can’t describe how well this project went. The Westerlund crew brought the proper equipment and knowledge, executed the work swiftly and deftly, for an extremely competitive price. This is all important (and rare) but the icing on the cake was the true sense of engagement, enjoyment and creativity they brought to the job. Their suggestions were spot-on. They know how to work with trees and how to communicate with clients. A+++

Skill, experience, professionalism, and a generosity of spirit We began working with Mike King and Jon Westerlund in 2017, soon after my husband Troy and I bought our house. An arborist identified several trees that threatened to fall, two on the house and three others across the neighbor’s fence. Ben and Rick, with two others helping to haul out the cut branches, packed an extraordinary amount of work into one day, taking down those hazardous trees, pruning up several others to improve both views and light, and chipping all branches. In spring 2018, we hired Kingwest again, this time for only a couple of hours, to grind a big old stump and make short work of chipping the piles and piles of branches that we had spent all winter hauling out of our acre of woods. That summer tragedy struck our household: Troy was hit by a car while out running and paralyzed below the shoulders. Mike and Jon came through with surpassing kindness and generosity, quickly clearing trees where a wheelchair ramp would need to go. Because of adaptations to make our home accessible and the need to avoid any risk of a fallen tree blocking the road for emergency vehicles, we have had several occasions to have tree work done since Troy has been home. In the photo, Ben is in taking down a Douglas fir near the road that our arborist identified as hazardous. In the wake of Troy’s injury, Mike and Jon have treated us the way they treat their crew, like family. Now we would never consider using anyone else.

We had a fantastic experience working with Westerlund Tree Service. From start to finish the owners and crews were professional, efficient and prompt. We had a large pine, fir and several large maples removed. They meticulously cleaned up after they were done and were very conscientious about not causing any damage to our driveway and surrounding areas as they brought in large equipment and trucks. Additionally they helped us negotiate the dreaded permitting process that was required in our area. We would absolutely work with Westerlund again and recommend them highly.

The crew was very punctual, worked quickly and cleaned up all debris. We were very pleased and would definitely have them back for future needs!

OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!! Stacy, the online contact, was very educated and friendly. Mike, one of the owners, came out and gave us an estimate. He took his time to come into our house, to figure out the framing of our view. He explained they should trim up a bit higher, because in the winter, the branches will bend ten feet with snow and water on them. Glad he said that. Then went outside to to identify the trees to cut and trim. He also showed us trees that were dead or dying. Thank you for that, Mike! They were right on time. They reviewed what was to be done. The owner was there outline what was happening. The crew is TOP NOTCH! They were very efficient and did a great job. One person cut, one was working the shredder, the other delivering the limbs and branches. WHY WOULD YOU HIRE THEM? Because they are the best in the business! They had me stand on the deck, so they could make sure they trimmed up high enough, for a beautiful view of the water. Cost effective. Made sure I was happy, before leaving. hauled away the trees and blew down the driveway, cleaned up so you never knew they were there. EXTREMELY SATISFIED! I HAVE THEM ON SPEED DIAL.

Everything went perfectly. They were efficient and safe and even calculated the required time to complete the work that we hired them to do.

The process went great. The crew was on time, efficient, personable and professional. They had a great system and everyone on the crew knew what needed to be done. Our yard was kept free of debris and when the process was done not only had they removed the trees but they had taken away some debris and old firewood that we had in the backyard too. We have asked them to come give us a bid for another monster tree and would definitely use them again.

We have hired Westerlund Tree service twice over the past five years. The second time, it wasn't even worth our time to bid it out after getting their very reasonable quote and knowing the excellent team. They clean up everything, (the yard looked better than when they got here) moved chips to more convenient locations for us, and were able to effectively troubleshoot a very difficult tree removal from a swampy area. They have become our rusted tree people.

Very impressed. From the beginning, when Mike came out and we walked around discussing what was needed, to the end when the guys left after work was completed, I was very impressed. Professional and very nice. You would have never known they had been there. My yard looked better than when they had arrived.

The crew was on site, on time....introduced themselves, went over the work to be done, and were hard working professionals! Entire job was done in less than five hours....trees down, stumps grinded, refuse hauled out, and area cleaned. I am very pleased with the quality of their work, and would highly recommend anybody looking for this type of work to give them a call.

Greater value by leaps and bounds over competitor. Laid plywood on the lawn to run the skid steer over to take away the wood. Used leaf blowers and cleaned up most all of the sawdust, from my lawn. Also cleaned off the deck etc. Neighbors wanted contact information for them. Would use again if ever needed. They beat the competitors price by $$$$, professional, quick, all good.

Very responsive with estimate and removal. Immaculate clean-up and close-to-the-ground stump trim. Billed at the lower end of the estimate range. Enthusiastic recommendation.

Arrived five minutes ahead of time with a crew of three. After introductions and asking me in detail how I wanted the work done, they got right to it. One fellow limbed the tree as he climbed toward the top while the two below carried out the limbs to the driveway where they positions their chipper and truck. They had set up sheets of plywood to protect the garage and garden from the limbs being dragged to the front. The one doing the cutting dropped the limbs and the five foot trunk portions exactly where I had asked. After they had finished felling the tree, they cut up the trunk into chunks for my wood stove taking pains to get the chunks exactly the length I had asked for. Afterwards, they raked my lawn and followed that up with a blower. They then blew off my whole driveway after getting a few chips on part of it. Then they blew off my sidewalk and street for me which had a few leaves from a tree I had in the front yard. They did not have to do that -- but they did. These guys were good, professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. The next time I have a tree to come down, the job is theirs.

John and crew arrived on time; introductions were made all around so we knew who on his crew would be doing what. They jumped right in and didn't stop until the job was finished. They were polite, professional, friendly without being chatty, and clearly love the work they do. They also helped load some logs into my son's truck, blew all the debris off the roof, stacked the remaining wood, swept all the sidewalks and left our home looking better than when they arrived. I especially want to commend Ben who has a great eye for how to "limb up" a tree so that it remains natural looking while being slimmed down. That's quite an art!

I called the company and within two days I met with the representative who provided an estimate (Mar 2013). I wasn't able to have them come back out until Jul 2013 to do the work. When I called to schedule, they were able to schedule me within a few days. The job was completed in 2 hrs and it was loud!! They did warn me about the noise and they weren't kidding! Afterwards, they cleaned up fully even after I said I'd be happy to take care of it. I was very impressed and would definitely use them again!

John came out a surveyed the trees that need to be taken down and in the proess noticed that a large tree near my garage had also rotted half way up the tree. I would have never noticed the rot so he saved me from potential future damage. John and his crew were able to come out earlier than planned and quickly removed the trees in a span of about an hour and half. He also noticed that a tree that had fallen over and was wedge between 2 other trees and presented a hazardous situation. John's crew relieved the pressure on the tree so that it no longer presented a threat this was beyond the scope of work we disscused and he did not charge me for it.

Jon's crew (3) arrived in a timely manner and set to work. Jon explained the job to them and each set to work. The crew was constantly busy except for small breaks and a lunch break. All were personable and mannerly. If I need any more tree work to be done I will certainly call Westerlund Wood and Tree Service.

I called Westerlund Wood and Tree Service (360) 779-2711) and made an estimate appointment. Owner Jon Westerlund arrived right on time, took notes as we talked about what needed to be done, and gave me an extremely fair price for the whole package. A couple of days later, Jon and his crew of 3 arrived and started the tree felling process. Jon's employees were friendly, respectful, and knew exactly what they were doing. When finished, another employee came in, ground the stump and cleaned the area completely. Later, another employee came in and did some extensive clearing of brush and small trees. I was asked to look it over after he finished and tell him if it was okay. The whole experience was great! Jon was friendly, professional, helpful, and a pleasure to do business with. I wold recommend him and his employees to anyone needing tree service.
