Description of Work: I was given a $6000 to $8000 dollar estimate to reface a new store location for my business. I was told that the work would take no more then two weeks. $21000 dollars and 6 weeks later I finally fired Todd Shay. He agreed that he'd made a mess of things and to come back and finish up the job with no further charges, which of course he never did finish. Then 2 months later I received a bill from a sub contractor he used. The bill was $3800, I was told by Todd the service would be $1500, and I had paid him that amount months earlier, he even gave me a reciept for it. Problem is he never gave the $1500 to the contractor, even though that wasn't the price. Best part is yet to come, after I received that bill I called Todd Shay and said that my kindness had ended in this, and that he needed to make the bill right with the sub contractor, and give me back at least $5000 of my money since he never did come back and finish the job. He then called the police, said I threatened him over the phone, and he feared for his life. Which of course lead to my arrest the next day for phone harrassement. Not joking. I have no criminal history, served as an officer on large ship all my life, and worked as a civilian contractor to the US Navy in Iraq 2004-2006. Case will be dismissed soon as if it never happened, but the public embarrassment, cost of a lawyer, and time spent in total frustration and disbelief that calling a thief a thief over the phone can never be gotten back. To hire Todd Shay for any reason, would be the greatest mistake you'll ever know.
