NOT GOOD. The first door they purchased did not fit, so they purchase another door which they installed. Before they had completed the installation of the door, I noticed that it was not a fire door and it did not have sprung hinges. (State Code Required) They said they thought it was up to code but when I told them it was not, they "made some calls" then admited it was not. (I looked it up and knew it was not!) I went to Home Depot on my own and purchased the correct (Fire Door with sprung hinges) and brought it back. They removed the door they purchased (which they had gotten for 10% off because it was flawed) and installed the door I purchased. The original estimate for all the work was $1800 which was to include ALL MATERIALS. I purchased the door myself ($261.82). I mention to Chad that I shouldn't have to pay for the time they wasted getting 2 WRONG doors and installing one of the wrong doors then having to remove it. AND I paid for and delivered the correct door that was installed. When I received the bill it was for $1750. $50 less that the quote if they had paid for the door! QUESTION: DID THEY REALLY LACK THE KNOWLEDGE TO KNOW THAT A FIRE DOOR WITH SPRUNG HINGES IS A STATE CODE REQUIREMENT ? OR DID THEY TRY TO CHEAT ME, THINKING I WOULDN'T KNOW ANY BETTER? They are in the construction business so I know which one I believe. NOTE: The original fire door had to be replaced because a doggie door had been cut into it. It was a fire door with sprung hinges so they could clearly see what a fire door looks like.
