Bad, Bad, Bad!!!
Description of Work: We purchased a Heritage Woodstove (for $8000 including pipe etc.) from Ever Warm 4 years ago, had problems with the fan, was replaced twice. Now have a problem with the stone on top of the stove popping up, the stove is still under warranty, Ever Warm will not repair the stove without a large payment and Heritage will not honor the warranty. The stove works but looks bad. Ever Warm sent a technician out 3 weeks ago and they said that this happened through no fault of ours and they would call and let us know what they could do about it, no call for three weeks and only returned our call when we kept calling. Would definitely go somewhere else to buy a woodstove and would not recommend the Heritage stoves at all

They were not successful due to unobtainable, obsolete parts. I was with them through this entire journey and respected their technical knowledge. The fireplace was Not one of the brands that they represent, but they showed definite detailed knowledge of the unit, nevertheless. I will work with them to find a replacement unit.

In July 2014, my husband suggested “this might be a good time to purchase a blower. The Everwarm Store is probably slow.” Knowing our stove lacked a visible model number, I drove to your store with multiple photographs of our stove in hand. Greg informed me “we can get you a blower but will need some measurements.” Within less than 24 hours I had noted the measurements on my photograph, scanned the photograph and sent it electronically to Greg. Greg never acknowledged receipt of that e-mail, so after 8 or 9 days I called your store. The call was answered by a male whose name I was unable to understand. “Oh yeah, you’re the one who wants a blower….chomp…I was just looking online while I …chomp chomp…eat my lunch.” I inquired if he would rather I call back in half an hour. “No, we can…chomp chomp…talk. There are two blowers and I’m not sure which one will be the best fit. Do you want me to order both, and you can see which works best?” He clarified that I would not need to pay for either blower at this time. “Sure, please order them. Will you call me when they arrive?” He agreed to call me. About a month went by and I did not receive a call. I phoned your store and Collet answered. I explained the situation. She informed me that your business never orders a product unless it is paid for upfront, a policy that came as a surprise. “Don’t worry; I can get you a blower. You will hear from me today.” Colette did get back to me the same day. She responded with a phone call at 7:25 pm, which I found to be rather unprofessional. Nevertheless I was polite and expressed appreciation for the information she gave me. Collet explained she had two blowers for me: one new and the other used. Neither blower fits perfectly. I further inquired about the safety, efficiency and cost effectiveness of utilizing a blower that does not quite fit. Colette agreed “to ask the boys” and get back to me. She did not get back to me about this concern. On 9/18 I drove to your store to look at the used blower. I was kept waiting quite a while because a new employee was being trained and an impatient man who came in after me was waited on first. I waited patiently. One of your employees (the new lady) looked at me and said something like “he just wants glue, and this is our busy season, you know.” (Of course I tried to make my purchase in July!) Eventually I was shown the blower. I did not inquire about your return policy; Colette voluntarily informed me that “because this is used, if it doesn’t work I can take it back.” She was not able to address my concern about the efficacy of a blower that is ill-fitting although I did repeat my inquiry. I took the blower home, plugged it in, and nothing happened. On 9/19 I drove to your store. After a very brief glance at the blower Colette informed me “you are missing the temperature sensor, that’s why it doesn’t work. But you don’t really need the temperature sensor unless you want it. What it does is it turns on the blower after the temperature reaches 100 degrees. You can just turn it on yourself.” I deduced that the sensor would probably be needed to turn the blower off as the stove cools and without the device the blower would blow cold air in the early morning hours. Colette concurred with my deductive reasoning, so I said that I would need a temperature sensor. This time I WROTE DOWN my question concerning the efficiency of using an ill-fitting blower. My question was clearly printed on the photograph of my stove which depicted the exact measurements of the blower relative to the stove. This document was left with Colette. “Come back tomorrow and I’ll have this ready for you” Colette explained. As instructed by Colette, I drove to your store the next morning. “Oh, the boys are out on a job. (She didn’t know about this job the previous day?) But won’t worry, I’ll get them to do this on Monday and I’ll give you a call.” Monday (9/22) came and went with no communication from Colette. On 9/24 I sent Colette the following e-mail. Note that once again her reply did not answer my question: Despite the above e-mail stating “I will call you” Colette did not call me. Once again I e-mailed her and was subsequently informed electronically that the blower was ready to be picked up. I drove to your store and was asked to “wait a minute, the technician is fixing it now. Why don’t you come back here and watch?” I explained that I don’t have a minute. “Oh, but it really will be just a minute!” Only then was I appropriately angry and I left your store. Shelby later informed me in writing that “Colette is VERY competent”. Shelby is obviously clueless therefore there was no reason for me to waste additional time communicating with Shelby. Terry please note that my initial decision to purchase from Everwarm has cost me the following: About 5 gallons of gas + wear on my truck during 5 trips to your store More than one day of my remaining life (This communication alone took over an hour!) $162.60, which is the least of my concerns. Until yesterday I was consistently polite and far more patient than I ought to have been. Colette informed me “credit card laws don’t allow us to return your money any other way” which is not true. I will not re-release my credit card information to such incompetent people. If you return my money in a timely manner then the comments I post on Angie’s List and related sites will reflect this refund.

We purchased a custom frameless glass shower door and bathroom mirror and installation services from Everwarm. This is a professional and reliable company to do business with, and they supply top quality workmanship. Everwarm is best known as a wood- and gas-stove supplier and we have purchased both a large wood stove and a small gas stove and installation services from Everwarm with exceptional results. It is less well known that they also provide other home services including shower doors and installation, which they perform with equally quality results. They show up when scheduled, are true to their cost estimates, have top quality workmanship, and provide individualized customer service. Not a price bargain but definitely provide value and quality for the dollar.

They are always punctual. They are also about the only game in town and they are not cheap...good, but expensive. The last time they came was to check to see if I had a leak. No leak.

Terry, the owner, came to the house to give us an estimate of the work. We have used Everwarm on more than one occasion, and Terry has always been very professional, prompt, and very helpful with suggestions and explanation of the scope of work. He always provides us with a very detailed estimate in a timely manner. The workers showed up when scheduled, and they did the work in a timely and efficient manner. We were very pleased with the quality of the work performed by Everwarm and the subcontractors that they used. The workers seemed to care about the quality and craftmanship of their work which was evident by the high quality of the results. They cleaned up at the end of the day and at completion of the job. They took care to minimize disruption to the rest of the household. They do not always have the lowest bid, but the quality and professionalism of their work is worth every penny that is charged. The office staff is also very friendly, helpful, and responsive when you need to contact them for any reason. Overall, we really like Everwarm and their crew and we will use them again for other remodeling projects around our 1960's home.
Description of Work: In 2006, we had all our windows replaced with new vinyl windows through a city program that helped with the cost. We had approximately 15 windows replaced, and we had a skylight installed in our kitchen at the same time. In addition to installation of the windows, the company trimmed the outside of the windows, and they coordinated the roof work that had to be done with the installation of the skylight. This past spring, 2012, we were remodeling a room damaged by water when the roof leaked. We hired Everwarm to install insulation in the roof and crawlspace, and add additional insulation in the walls.
