We met with Ken Zeigler of Cozi Homes, before and after our garage plans were permitted by the city of Port Angeles. We specifically pointed out the ridge on the roof line, as shown in the permitted drafts. Ken affirmed that he would build the roof line as specified. As the roof was nearing completion, the roof did not match the permitted plans. Ken's response to the discrepancy was that we couldn't have a ridge on the roof of a square garage. He did not tell us this previously, when the plans were discussed. Because the plans were permitted with a roof ridge, we had no way of knowing that the ridge wasn't possible. When asked why he didn't say this during our planning stage, Ken's response was, "I assumed you just didn't know what you were doing." When told that we want the roof to look like the permitted plans, he told us it would cost a lot more than the original quote. Now, we're stuck with a ridiculous looking roofline, in Cozi Home's effort to make a compromise for the mistake they made, that we paid for! We hired a different contractor to build our second story deck. That contractor informed us that it is certainly possible to build a ridge on a square structure, with the correct trusses. Additionally, Cozi Homes did an awful job on the cement patio slab. There are so many large cracks that we will have to cover the cement with tiles to save the stability of the patio. There again, the cement walkway ended up being different, because of the lack of attention to our plans and lack of communication.

The job went excellent and the crew was there everyday until the job was finished. Another great aspect of this company is that they do not want any money up front and they do not expect payment until the job is finished and you are completely satisfied. Also, this is a strong Christian company and they have high standards. They have done quite a few jobs for us and after the first of the year will be undertaking a large remodel for us.
Description of Work: Turned a workshop in the garage into a laundry room that will be off the future kitchen remodel.
Extremely well. Lance Coe did the work on the water-damaged floor. Damage occurred as result of roof leak in pop-out of mobile home. Required removal of wall paneling to look for water damage in the walls. None, fortunately. Opening walls allowed for injection of foam in gaps along the ceiling. Replaced water-damaged particle board with quality plywood. When finished, I could hardly tell the walls had been opened. Lance also replaced the water damaged particle-board bottom of the under-sink cabinet. This project was a Chinese puzzle because of the narrow workspace, the plumbing, and the small cabinet doors. He needed two pieces of narrow 3/4" plywood. For one piece he measured twice and cut once. For the second piece, he measured three times and cut twice (discounting the notches for plumbing). Perfect fit. Lance brought in Ryan to help replace wear-damaged particle-board flooring under living room table. They replaced two panels: one roughly 5'x5', the other roughly 7'x5'. When finished, the repaired section of flooring was probably the most structurally sound part of the mobile home. Re-roof was done by Tyler, who is a meticulous and deliberate workman, which was essential for this particularly problematic section of roofing. Excellent work. This section of roofing will, in all likelihood, outlast the rest of the coach, with the exception of the work done by Lance.
Description of Work: Repaired water-damaged floor, replaced wear-damaged particle-board floor with quality plywood, repaired bottom of water-damaged sink cabinet, re-roofed pop-out on mobile home.
