Fit and finish, trim work and all details were handled exceptionally. When my detail oriented wife expressed some doubt about the look of a trim piece, Chuck reworked without any issues whatsoever. I would (and will) use CMU construction for another project as soon as possible - I'm a very happy customer.

+ -1 moreActual initial estimate about 10,000, but a crack in the foundation was discovered. With the repair needed, this added on 2,000. They built a new footing for the crawl space, poured concrete, and replaced a rotten joist. Also corrective work was done to an inappropriately framed sliding glass door put in a few years ago. All problems explained in detail along with corrective work recommended. The crew were timely, thorough, and kept a clean work site and staging area. One problem did develop in that the concrete footing to the steps was poured crooked relative the the stairs. When we saw this, Chuck agreed to do corrective work without any negotiation. The steps were taken off, concrete removed, and repoured the footing. Chuck and his staff obviously care about doing quality work by what we see in the end product. We would highly recommend CMU Construction for knowlegeable, quality, and ethical work.
Description of Work: Chuck provided blueprints and detailed two simple options. Choices offered were based on durability and low maintenence required. Old deck was ripped out and hauled off. Existing sidewalk under old deck was removed and the ground was leveled. Entirely new support posts and joists were built with new decking. New steps with railing, railing enclosing the deck, and gate added to top of steps.
