MASCOT PAINTING

Project bid by knowledgeable sub-contractor who understood work on older homes, not the Mascot owner. On the start date of the project no one showed up for work. Finally the owner fired the sub and sent another crew to the house who appeared to have less experience painting. The owner then disagreed with the contract price trying to increase costs by tacking on individual prices for work (storm windows etc to which I didn't agree). All this after we exchanged several emails clarifying the contracted work and I spelled all the work realities as well as I could and allowed for quote increases. I should have stopped work there. The prep work was minimal and with only two men on the job the timeline elongated - the initial team was three people, but the team lead never came back after the owner left. I don't believe any bondo was used as I still can find large pits in the siding and the only sanding completed was what could be seen from the street. The paint that was used was not the same as agreed upon - I later learned some of the paint was interior grade or matte where it should have been enamel (doors). The primer was tinted (not agreed upon) and less coats of final paint used. Within two months paint was already peeling off the house and I was trying to cover patches before real winter set in. I now see whole walls I must repaint this summer. Additionally, I am still finding parts of my house with no paint, obvious overspray and large air bubbles. Do NOT use Mascot painting if you want more than 2 colors on your house. Do NOT use Mascot painting if you want the work to last more than a month.Do NOT use Mascot painting if your home is older (mine is from 1925).I would not work with this team again or suggest them to anyone. I wish I could have contacted the sub-contractor and worked with him directly, but the owner wouldn't share contact info.

Execellent work. Highly recommend the crew which was Sal & Mike. Carefully, pressure washed, caulked all windows, doors and garage door panels, primed peeled surfaces, applied two paint coats, first sprayed and back rolled and then sprayed second coat after first coat dried, hand brushed or roller painted trim with two coats and cleaned up everything afterward. I don't know if Mascot has multiple crews but this crew of Sal with Mike assisting was outstanding.

They were very friendly when they were there working. They had showed up on time to do the work. They had done a good job at cleaning up when they were done. They were very professional about the job.

THIS COMPANY WAS VERY COMPETITIVE WITH THEIR PRICE AND WAS WILLING TO WORK AROUND OUR SCHEDULE AND TIMING. THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND DID A GOOD JOB WITH THEIR CLEAN-UP.
