Working with Doug Vincent was a pleasure. He always returned calls in a timely fashion. His crews were professional and very good at their assigned tasks. I have more work to be done and I WILL use Mark Vincent Construction again.

It went badly. We paid half up front for the work. The concrete finish on the patio was very rough. They rebuilt the covered patio and re-roofed the entire house and they did such a bad job that we had to pay a third party to redo it when they wouldn't respond to our request to redo it themselves. The work was being done buy a few workers with no site supervisor and they did a terrible job. We were very unhappy with the whole incident.

It went fairly well. The concrete was pitted in places where they didn't adequately consolidate the concrete. The work building the walls and placing the siding went very quickly and they kept the area blocked off with plastic to prevent dust from migrating to the rest of the house. The new trusses looked great and the roofing job was pretty good. As long as they had a good foreman on site they worked very well. If he wasn't there that day, the quality of their work slipped. We did find a lot of nails and things in the yard and on the street where they were throwing them off the roof. We had to go through with a magnet sweeper after they completed to get pick up all the nails and debris.
Description of Work: Contractor extended our garage along the side of the house. Original garage was 19ft, they extended it 15 ft. Work included replacement of the roof trusses, concrete foundation, building the walls, placing the siding, roofing.

Description of Work: I wish to preface this review by saying that this contractor was HIGHLY recommended and I was able to see their work. This work constituted a full kitchen remodel and bathroom, not just a shower stall. The work that I saw was very good and had no concerns in having them do the work. From start to finish the whole process took about 3 months and lots of non communication, I had to keep calling when work stopped. My final estimate of this company is that if the work is of significant amounts the work and schedule will be very good. Although I think that $2,561 plus approximately another $563 in other parts I had to purchase plus my time due to their mistakes in estimating, should be included. I don't think they put as much effort on smaller jobs. Hope this helps. 1. 07-13-10-Called Mark Vincent Construction (MVC) for estimate on replacing shower stall in master bedroom. 2. 07-13-10-Mark arrived at 4:00p to perform estimate. 3. 07-14-10-Received estimate of $2,500 by email. It should be noted that this estimate was mostly for labor, sheet rock and the shower pan, the tile, grout and shower door was my responsibility. 4. 07-15-10-Emailed signed contract to MVC. 5. 07-21-10-Received call from MVC, indicating that he needed to come out to do a more detailed assessment that included getting measurements of the shower and door. He arrived at 3:30p, completed assessment and said he’d call next week to schedule work. 6. 08-16-10-Called MVC, three weeks later, to ask why we had not received a call or any other communication to schedule for doing the work. They apologized, saying that they were behind schedule due to personnel issues. They said they could start on September 15th, which we agreed on. 7. 09-07-10-Darrell called to ask if they could start tomorrow. I said yes. 8. 09-08-10-Start work with demolition. 9. 09-13-10-Have issues with quality and schedule being performed, spoke to Darrell and Mark on this. (1) The shower door as measured by Darrell did not open entirely and hit the commode. Discussed this with Darrell and finally agreed that he had performed the estimate on the work and thus the door purchased by me. We agreed to a fix with a new door, which cost more, and Darrell said he’d pick up the difference. (2) The tile “bullnose” was not installed and the tile work looked unfinished. I was told that this finishing touch is installed in 50% of the installations, which I noted that I should have been informed of the option. They finally agreed to install bullnose edge tile. (3) During the installation of the shower stall pan the worker punched a hole, with the pan, in the wall going up the stairs and had to request that the fix which they agreed he also damage the upper edge of the garage door as he was bringing the pan in. The worker never told his boss he caused the damage and I had to call to get it fixed. Paint does not match. (4) The worker purchased the concrete wall board that supports the tile, the wall board pieces did not fit properly so that some pieces were higher than the adjacent piece. (5) Darrell did not correctly estimate the amount of tile and grout needed to complete the job and had to take time off to get it. Additionally the tile installer didn’t let me know that he had run out of tile and group and had to call Darrell to get the job going again. (6) Workers did not provide the “chrome Valletta” shower head. The used the original shower head. 10. 09-30-10-The new shower stall door came in and will be installed this morning. The door and safety bar was installed by grout still needs to be applied. 11. 10-06-10-Work complete, did not have a walkthrough from Mark Vincent. They submitted a bill for $2,365, plus

Very fair bid, with attention paid to getting details just right. From rough-in carpentry to the finish trim, every step in the process of building our large room addition was approached with skill, safety, efficiency, minimization of waste, cleanup as stages finished, good humor and evident pride in the workmen's crafts. We came up with a few changes that required change orders to the original bid, but all were handled in stride and with prompt accounting of the costs. Difficulties with work done before Vincent took on the project, and oddities of adding to an older structure were discussed and handled with the skill and confidence of experienced craftsmen. This was the first project around our home that we did not want to tackle ourselves, so it was different not having to actually do physical work. But we were welcome to be as vigilant as we wanted watching others work, or conversely felt entirely comfortable leaving our home during their workday when necessary. All the little details and care that we would have taken if doing the work ourselves were part of the Vincent employees' way of doing the work. We were completely pleased with the pace of the job, the work ethic of all the crafts, efficiency and flow of tasks and wise use of materials. We are really enjoying making the new room part of the flow of our home just as we envisioned it. The new space has gotten many compliments and we have gladly passed along our recommendation of Vincent as a general contractor.
Description of Work: Requested a bid to complete a room addition project that had been started by others. The estimating process was very thorough, with respect for our 'vision' and request for details beyond the typical building requirements. Working from bare bones plans, the Vincent carpentry craftsmen demonstrated great skill, attention to detail, local building codes and inspections, and a healthy respect for safety on the job. The sub-contractors chosen to supplement the Vincent team were also very efficient, courteous, and did excellent work in their specialties. All work and staging of materials was done with consideration for our property not involved with the project. Because this project took several months, we got to know several of the principal Vincent employees and really enjoyed the whole process of seeing our room be created. The friendly guys didn't mind our 'sidewalk superintending' and seemed to really appreciate the chance to show their skills on a project just a bit different than the standard room addition.

Everything went really smooth. I wasnt 100% sure on the process of the window rebate program for upgrading but they took care of all the paperwork and rebates. I also wanted tinted windows in the front facing the road in addition to them being HiE windows and take out the doors that were solid and putting in doors with HiE windows
Description of Work: Replace old leaky windows with new high efficiency windows. They also rebuilt window frames to allow for larger windows and took out some walls to fit windows where they werent were.

the experience was good and the overall remodel very quick and fair priced for the quality I received
Description of Work: Needed a shower/bathroom remodel. They came and gave an estimate and went over what I wanted to have done. They came and took out the old tub and shower combo and demoed the wall during day 1. Day 2 of construction they put in a new tub, concrete wall for tile and started tile install. Day 3 they finished up and everything was inspected by their plumber.

I called to make sure they did small jobs and explained what I wanted. They did. It took 1 1/2 weeks to get and appointment with Darrel. It was set for 10:00 in the morning. At 9:54 he called to tell me he was running late and it would be 10:30 or 11:00. He showed up at 1:30. He took measurements and wrote on his paper. It only took 20 minutes at the most. Upon leaving he told me he would e-mail my estimate and got my e-mail address. I am still waiting to hear back from him!! So I called someone else.
Description of Work: Just an estimate to take out a 3x4 window and replace with a 8x4
