The work was done in a timely manner (3 days) and they did an outstanding job (as always). They installed a gas fireplace insert for us a couple of years ago and we knew they do excellent work.
They are expensive but well worth the cost since they do such a great job!
Also, after the complete installation, a technician found that the return airflow was insufficient. They installed a bigger vent and duct for the return. Then, they tried to charge me an extra $500 beyond the original estimate.
The heat is uneven. We have two warmer rooms nearer the furnace. They said that is normal but it wasn't a problem with the older system. Other than those caveats, all is well.
Wore protective clothing and booties, and was very careful about not bringing any dirt into the house.
Had some worthwhile observations about the replacement, and some other construction we were contemplating.
Within 2 business days, he emailed us his proposal, covering a number of options for how to proceed.
The bid was about $3,000 higher than the outfit we went with.
When I called to let him know they had the job, he told me that it couldn't be scheduled until the following week. (So two weeks out) We went with that as I had already contacted the other companies to let them know I had selected a different contractor.
So the workers came out On a Monday, did an excellent job, other than putting a hole in my ceiling. Accidents happen. They had to work on the system all day Tuesday as well. All the technicians were helpful and did an awesome job. The supervisor arranged to get the ceiling fixed. Took a day or so to arrange that. As far as the heat pump job is concerned I have not heard from Campbell and Company since job was completed. They have not called to see if my ceiling was fixed or if I am happy with any of the work. Hmmm,
The office person did send me the information for the rebate and said to just call the rebate people if I had any questions. Did call and Lennox people were NOT helpful about rebate. So despite the fact the salesman said they would handle the rebate paperwork, I wouldn't have to do a thing, etc..... that was not done.
Because I was very happy with the sevice people, I would probably recommend this company. Not happy with the "after" customer service. This was a lot of money and I expect great customer service.
When I learned of the price, which I felt was an exorbitant amount, I visited Campbell & Company. I noted that such parts are available from The Home Depot for $15.49 (order only) and Grainger for $21.09 and wanted to know why they charged so much. Parts Manager's response was that they couldn't compete with pricing from "Big Box Stores."
I personally feel Campbell & Company discourages Do-It-Yourself repairs by over charging for parts. I wonder if a man versus a woman had purchased the part if the price would have been different, e.g., possible unethical behavior based upon gender.
