I wish I had believed the reviewer who simply said, "do not do business with this man." Richard Miracle came to my home to give me a paint estimate. He asked if I wanted him to refinish my picnic tables and benches that Dad made for me years ago. He showed some pictures of his work, which looks very nice. I said yes, he took them in his pickup, that's the last I saw of them. WE had agreed to do the refinish work in trade for four antiques. Later he said the refinish work would be $350. He's had them for a year and a half . I've called and emailed to no avail, he's quite adept at sob stories. In Jan. I sent him $50 for supplies to do the work, payment upon delivery. He has said they were finished and that he would deliver them, but that was in January, and now it's mid-March. Now I want them back finished or unfinished.

THIS WAS ONE OF THE WORST EXPERIENCES I HAVE EVER HAD. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! First of all, this contractor promised work would be completed within 1 week. FIVE weeks later and the project was maybe 60% completed before I finally kicked him out. Not to mention it is IMPOSSIBLE for this contractor to be anywhere near on-time. You have an appointment with him at 12pm? Be prepared for him to arrive at 8pm, YES THIS WAS A REGULAR OCCURRENCE and caused me much headache as I waited around for the contractor to finally show up. The biggest complaint I have is this contractor did not put up ANY sort of plastic barrier or ANYTHING around the work site and got dust EVERYWHERE. The total damage to my home due to the dust is extensive. I have had to throw out a lot of clothes and bedding. Hours upon hours of cleaning required removing all the construction dust. We are still not done and it has been nearly 6 weeks of cleaning. EVERY SINGLE ROOM IN MY HOUSE HAD DUST IN IT. I asked the contractor what his plan was to clean the dust and I was told that it was my responsibility. When I asked him why he didn?t put up plastic sheeting or some sort of barrier, he stated ?yeah I probably should have done that?? He also went into my shed (without permission) and used my tools (without my permission). He got paint and plaster all over my tools and paint. He used my personal broom (destroyed), my house vacuum (destroyed), and my shop vacuum (also destroyed as the result of his use). He also used one of my fans for ventilation (didn?t damage it but annoyed to find him using my stuff without my permission). This contractor backed his truck up into my lawn, hitting my tree and knocking down a large branch. If that wasn?t annoying enough, he LEFT THE HUGE branch in our yard for us to deal with. He also ripped up my ENTIRE KITCHEN FLOOR without my permission and then tried to charge me for it. His reason for doing so was that early on in the project I had mentioned in passing that EVENTUALLY I was going to have all new floors put in my house. In NO WAY did I ask him to remove the flooring, or even hint that I wanted the floor removed. I had planned to do the floors next year, but since this contractor has entirely ripped up my perfectly good floor, I am now forced to move early on this. I think he was trying to force me to have to get new flooring earlier which would have improved his chances of HIM getting awarded the additional work. When I didn?t fall for that, he decided to charge me for ripping out my floor. I told them that I was not paying for that because I didn?t authorize it NOR did I want it. Now the contractor is threatening to place a construction lien on my house over it. In the meantime I have BARE hardwood/subfloor exposed in the kitchen and dining room of my house which makes the rooms pretty much unusable. I had to go to Walmart and spend a few hundred dollars on area rugs just to cover it up temporarily. In addition, this guy is just annoying as heck. He whines and complains constantly. I got barraged with long drawn out text messages ranging from thanking me, threatening me, and bizarre personal details about his family. We also discovered this contractor is probably a habitual liar. He has told us before that he works at Disney as an ?Imaginer?, was a Chip ?n Dales dancer, was a policeman, was a motivational speaker, and the list goes on and on with jobs that this contractor has supposedly held. Hard to believe when he is also claiming 18 years? experience as a contractor. Here is an example of the text messages I would get on a daily basis: ?All the work that I've done and all of the passion but yesterday I got to hear my children say that I have not been a father to because I could not be in about 15 years that they were going to go to school to be master Carpenter as if they didn't know that I own a business so that I could teach him this I've thought about him with all my heart and I've done the best that I could for them but their mother is kept him from knowing the truth and it broke my heart you destroyed my mind for a minute I thought to myself why would you want to go to school when I have set all of this up for you so that you could have a better life follow in my footsteps you don't even know how much I love you I didn't even go how to react I just told them I love them it was blown away by the circumstance but I am the tiny on King as far as recycle reuse then there is beautiful pieces are full of passion and creativity I've given my heart to show the world what I can do so that they can benefit from it it's been a long hard road coming from 300 bucks in the back pack nine years ago? This is verbatim what was texted to me. This is also NOT the longest or most inappropriate text he has sent me, but it does give you an idea of how unprofessional this guy is. This contractor?s last day on the job, he stated several times over that he would be entirely finished that day. He arrived at 5pm and by MIDNIGHT he was still nowhere near complete. I am estimating he was near 60% complete. Also he was rushing so much that the work started to look sloppy. When I asked him about this he got in my face and threatened me. At that point I had enough and asked him to leave. He REFUSED to leave my house. I ended up having to call the police to encourage him to leave. Turns out he has several prior convictions for assault on his record. Also, I got to say? the quality of the work he completed is terrible. The framing around the new walls is not straight, paint is slopped on and running everywhere, the plaster has a ton of gouges, scrapes and uneven portions, and in some spots I can still see the drywall tape. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE? do yourself a favor and avoid this contractor AT ALL COSTS! I honestly have a lot more complaints about this contractor, but hopefully this is enough to convince you to choose ANYONE else.
