The sales person was extremely nice and helpful. The price was reasonable. We purchased on 4/22/10, delivery was set for 4/26/10 between 12:30 and 2:30 PM. Everything was fine until after the delivery. The delivery guys came , took the old washer away and installed the new one all in about 10-15 minutes. I went to work. I came home a little after 5 PM and my garage had water all over the floor. I did not want to touch the washer myself, I wanted it to be as it was when I left for work. I turned off the water supply and called the Best Buy store in Lacey. They gave me a different number to call for the delivery dept and I called that number. Long story short, a lot of transfers, holding, being told no one could come out that day/evening to correct the problem. At first it was going to be several days before they could come back. Finally, after much complaining, they agreed to come out the next day within a 4-hour window (which meant that I would have to take more time off work). I was so mad that I said they could just take the machine back. The delivery guy, Paul, said I would have to call the store to arrange that and asked "did I still want the appointment for them to come back out?" I said, "No, I want you to just take it back." Paul said, "I can't do that, but do you still want the service appointment." I said, "No." I called the store back and talked to the appliance manager who at least finally said the right things, such as, "we'll do whatever we can, I'll arrange for someone to come out, I'll come out if needed, etc." Finally, I took a look at the machine myself, and found that the two water supply connectors to the machine were leaking simply because they weren't tight enough. I tightened them. I guess I could have done that immediately when I got home, but I didn't want to touch the machine, I just wanted Best Buy to come out and see for themselves that it wasn't done right and to take care of it. Some of my drywall got wet and I had to squeegee the water out on the floor of the garage. This was not a huge deal in the garage; it would have been a huge deal if my washer was in the house, instead of the garage. I called the store back and left a message for the appliance manager to advise that I didn't need anyone to come out. Bottom line is this: it was a quick installation and not done right; add to that the incredible frustration of trying to find the right person at the right phone number to take care of the problem. 09/26/10: I want to add to this report that when I purchased the washer, I was told that it qualified for two rebates and the sales person even provided rebate forms and extra copies of the reciepts. It turns out that the washer did indeed qualify for one rebate for $75 through LOTT; but NOT the other one for $100 through "Cash for Appliances - Washington" as I was advised. Very disappointing. I'm so disgusted with Best Buy and the overall experience, that I'm not even going to ask them for a $100 credit or something to make up for their mistake. I simply will not use them for my next appliance purchase.
Description of Work: Purchased a new Maytag top loading energy efficient washing machine. Had it delivered and installed several days later.
