The company called me the day after I purchased on Angies List to set up the service for later that week. They called me when the technician was on his way to my house so I knew when to leave work. The technician was on time, professional, and courteous. He explained everything he did and provided recommendations when needed. He suggested a part replacement and offered a discount if I purchased their service plan. Since it was a good deal with my units being 11 years old, I purchase the service plan. I did have to call the technician back 2 weeks later as the heat pump stopped working. A wire had been loosened, causing it to stop working. He fixed it without charge.

It's not cheap but it the right price for the value. If I had to do it all over again yes I'd would it all over again.

I found them somewhere else. We've been with them for about 2 years. We just pay a monthly fee and they just come out and take care of the furnace. The cost of them seems to be a little pricey. The workers seemed to be fine. They were neat, prompt and they had these booties when moving through the house. So I thought that was good.

They are always professional, courteous, and on time. I pay a monthly fee that pretty much comes out to what the annual furnace service costs. For that I get filter replacements, a mid-year check, annual service, and a service provider that I can call in case of emergencies (hope that never happens but if it does, I know they will be there for me).

I had critized the fact that I had to pay for a service, which would not have been necessary, if one of their serviceman would have informed us of the changes he made to our system controls during their prior standard service call. I want to let you know, that their Office Manager called us a few days later and apologized for the billing mistake. She was not present at the time of my phone call and complaint. In the meantime, I received a full refund. This settles everything and I admire their professional actions to solve the problem. I will hire them again in the future and I am changing my ratings accordingly. Thank you!

Buyers beware. They sent out a "trainee" to do the so-called "maintenance" on my gas furnace. Black Hills justified it by stating that, as a company, Black Hills has a WA state contractor's license - so the trainees can legally practice under the corporation's license. Personally, when it comes to gas, I don't want amateurs opening up my furnace and messing around with the components and piping. I had assumed that Black Hills would send out an "experienced" technician. Unfortunately, after the fact, I looked up the employee's credentials at the WA state licensing website and discovered that he is classified as a "trainee" and has had only an 8-hour course in "Understanding Gas and Electric Furnaces," which apparently is enough to qualify him as an HVAC maintenance technician at Black Hills. It's up to you whether you want an unlicensed individual with 8-hours of training messing around with your gas furnace. Personally, I thought it was a $109+tax scam. It doesn't matter whether the company has a license and experience - I expected that the person who was going to be working on my gas furnace would have a license and experience. Do your research folks: Ask Black Hills who they are going to send out to your home and then go to the WA state licensing website and look up that name. Also, with regard to the top-ratings in Angie's List, I considered them to be questionable at best.

It was fine. We’re happy with it. There was a repair issue that came up so there was an initial cost for that. Everything seems fine.

What's to add? We chose them. They're prompt and courteous and fulfilled everything we wanted quickly and efficiently. I realize this sounds like an ad, but they were very good. We're impressed. We recommend.

Great, the serviceman was very professional and pleasant, told us about out 18 year old A/C unit and about how long we might expect it to keep chugging along, (not long) even at it's reduced output...

Had a minor scheduling glitch but once that was resolved the service went very well. The technician was knowledgeable and offered a few suggestions re reducing power bill. He as thorough and all items performed as "advertised".

Fantastic! I was so happy with the level of professionalism and knowledge of the system, that I signed up for a service contract. In 6 years, I haven't done this, because I haven't been happy with the people who have serviced the unit. Found a keeper, at last. Tim was very professional, very explanatory, and was super knowledgeable about the system, as ancient as it is. I would absolutely recommend him for any hvac system servicing. No pressure sales, nothing! Very awesome!!! Thanks again Angie's List! I hadn't heard of Blackhills Inc., but I was pleased to see tons of positive reviews. Now, I know why!

They have done a good job. What stood out was that initially they did the whole package and they did follow up, and they are local. Mostly, it was good. Their folks were knowledgeable, professional, and easy to deal with.

So far, it went okay. He had to come back and then my son went down and checked something else and he saw that the filter they had to change was questionable so I wasn't really happy with it myself. It was exactly the right part, we knew that, but he said we have to buy the part even though it was the same part. The part was less than $100 and he charged us $300. It would have been a very senseless thing. I said no and I had somebody put it in for me. They offered us free service of changing filters but they charged me and stuck it to me when I do want them to do something. Their responsiveness was pretty good. Professionalism means that they do come out on time and they are there when they say they are, and they are well-trained. I didn't feel that he was that well-trained.

Technician performed service well. Technician also noted issues with furnace and air conditioner that needed attention. This advice was used to subsequently have the furnace replaced and the air conditioner repaired.

The technician showed up exactly when they said they would 0800! He was very courteous and let me know that he may have a manager stop by, as they do on a rotating basis for all of the technicians. He got right to work and explained to me all that he was doing answering all of my questions in the process. He found one part that was not performing right and replaced it and when he found a switch that looked like it may need to be replaced, he checked with a bunch of other technicians and found out the part was working just fine! He could have replaced a good part and charged me for it but he double checked and saved me money. When the manager stopped by he was kind and courteous as well. Apparently he was a sales manager but did not once pressure me to buy a new unit. They also had a maintenance plan that was designed to save me money, they didn't pressure me to buy it but let me digest the packet alone and answered any questions that I had. I will definitely go with these guys again.

Heidi was professional, helpful and friendly. She provided excellent customer service. She explained the process and made it easy. We were able to get an appointment quickly. Jake our installer was fantastic as well. Very knowledgable, efficient, professional and friendly.

Excellent. The tech was courteous and knowledgeable- the price was wonderful (bought on an Angie's List special).

We talked about a new system when ours finally goes. It's twenty years old. No pressure. I'd have them at the top of my list when we're ready to talk new install. Excellent service. Excellent employee.

Black Hills HVAC employee Jason Herndon was very professional and polite. He explained everything to me and did the most thorough check and cleaning of my furnace than any previous HVAC personnel. I highly recommend this company. I even received a follow-up call to ensure everything went well to my satisfaction!

Top service from the team at Blackhills HVAC. Team was courteous and professional across the board. Price beat other competitors, but what sold me, was their commitment to their customer. Install was flawless. City of Lacey/State of WA requires a R33 Duct Test to sign off on permit. After install, Blackhills HVAC sent a team to complete. All good, very pleased with their professionalism and quality. Highly recommend and will use in the future, if required. Thank you!
