I don't remember if they were punctual. I really don't remember. Nothing about the service really jumps out at me.

Justin was more concerned with selling me a new unit than diagnosing my broken unit. Instead of getting the part locally and quickly because we are having 100+ temps this week, no they order it from BFE to come via mule! Then the girl that answers the phone answers "how can I make you smile today" it makes me want to punch her through the phone, lies lies lies and more lies. Stay away from these snake oil salesmen! Ordered the parts myself and installed them. Never use these guys again!

Dan and Cole did an excellent and thorough job of cleaning and inspecting our 12 year old furnace. I wouldn't hesitate to use this company again.

Paid for service on Angies list... called and emailed several times (4) with no response. They got my money but never fulfilled the service we paid for. Asked for a return and was ignored too.

The technician was very thorough and professional.

They were professional up to arriving at the home. They looked at my furnace that was very old. They did not give options for repair. Tried to sell me on a 4700.00 furnace for my 1300 sq foot rental. I asked them to email be the bid so i could do some checking on reviews of what they were recommending. They did not send it. I had two other vendors go by and both recommended much more affordable options for replacement 1600 to 1800. This company is using the clean and check service call to try and take advantage of people and up sell them.

Went really well. Power was turned on sooner than expected.

We had some lower prices but we went with them because of time. They put it in and we moved.

I did some general checking around, but I was super busy, so I looked on Angie's List and found Black Hills. I liked all the reviews, the way they answer the phone "Hi, This is so and so, how can I make you smile today?". And they sounded just energetic to lift me up a bit. I figure if they are smart enough to know how to answer the phone and actually do it, I might have found a good service company. So, we make the appointment and what happens...yep, they called me and said they were EARLY and wanted to see if they could come earlier. Unfortunately I missed the call, so they came at the regular time. Amondo, service tech, was clean, polite, professional and was okay with me watching from a non-intrusive distance. Turns out it was just a wall thermostat. My neighbor had an extra one, and I installed it. We were up and running within a couple of hours of their visit. I would definitely call them again.

They do an excellent job. They installed my system for me and have been doing regular maintenance for the last several years.

They informed us that our system was "fried" and they couldn't figure out exactly what was wrong with it. After a further look, we were informed that we would have to at least replace several "computer boards and other components" and that it would be a minimum of $5000. He then said that at that point, we ma as well buy a new system because he "never really liked these systems". He gave us a basic quote of "around $17,000 for a new one" and would be back in a few days to put in a bid. We decided to get a second opinion from G&G Heating before spending that kind of money. They discovered a blown breaker in the panel was the problem...totally cost to repair: $30. I'll never use Blackhills again. They are either incompetent or crooks.

These folks preach a great sermon... but what they want is your money --- and for nothing. Thats right, AFTER you spend thousands on a system (which we did), and all the free services and free filters they promise --- FIRST time back they pressure you to sign up for their ELITE program, which then promises you to be on their "special" list. If and when you do have a problem, if you are in the Elite program - they will come to YOU first! BUT... because we did not sign up for this program, I call today - and they don't do duct service this time of year... too busy.

We have been very pleased with the people and the company, and do recommend them. Their work was timely and professional. The electrical upgrade and installation was neat and painless. We selected a more expensive unit but feel we are getting our money's worth, both in the equipment and in the maintenance. Easy company to work with. Good communication.

The technician came out right on time, and inspected an tested the furnace. He determined that it was a bad control board within ~10 minutes. Given the age of the furnace, he didn't know whether the part would be available, and if it was it would be very expensive. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything he was doing as he went. I decided to purchase a new furnace from Blackhills. I will give another review once the new installation is complete.
