I ultimately did not go forward with this project as the city dealt with the issue of the water coming off the street down into the garage (from a swale at the top part of the driveway). At some point (though it may be a couple years away) I may decide to get the driveway itself replaced and will certainly consider this company at the top of the list for that work at that time based on my interactions with Jay. Jay was prompt, personable and seemed very knowledgeable about both the asphalt trade as well as the ins and outs of necessary permitting aspects. I enjoyed working with him (which would be a factor in any contracting situation). His attention to detail and ability and willingness to explore and explain options to me was certainly welcome.

The crew arrived as scheduled and did a very nice and professional job. The material has held up very nicely with no deterioration whatsoever.

The fellows on my job were organized, polite and hard-working. They left the area clean and neater than when they arrived. The foreman Zack, was business-like and professional. I was very impressed with the whole operation.

We were impressed from the outset at the professionalism and knowledge of Sutter Paving's owner and employees. We received a bid via email promptly after Jay did an inspection of the work to be done. It was within the amount we'd budgeting for the job, and we signed them up.The initial work was done within two days of our signing the contract, and that was when the underground spring was discovered. That, of course, changed the scope and expense of the work. But we wanted it to be done right, and ok'd the additional work and expense. They put in a French drain to direct the flow of the water away from the house, and proceeded to finish the job the way it was originally planned. It was amazing to watch the precision and care with which the asphalting was done! We could not be more satisfied with the end result, and, while it cost more than we'd planned, we feel that we were treated absolutely fairly and ethically. I can't imagine a company which would do a better, more professional job!

First of all, I used Angies List and decided on two companies to quote the project for me. Jay came out and was very professional and knowledgable. We got along great. We were quoted first 2" of gravel with 2 1/2" of asphalt. Our other quote was for 1" and 3" of asphalt. Because we have some heavier equipment, I thought that the 3" was a better application for our use. I talked to Leonard the owner and we came to an arangement that benefited both of us. They preped the driveway with the road grader and smaller equipment on one day and the next morning, the pavers and trucks arived. They were very maticulous in the operation of the equipment and the final product. There was one minor equipment break down and without missing a beat, that piece of equipment was replaced and work continued. Leonard personally attended the project (I heard that one driver was sick) and made sure that all of my expectations were met. I will use this company again. ( I do have other projects to do ) and cannot recommend them enough. I have already recommended them to a friend for his projects.

Sutter Paving customer rep was very responsive to schedule a site visit and provide a cost estimate to remove an unneeded asphalt driveway supplement. He provided a written estimate later the same day. I was able to schedule the work with just a couple days notice, and the rep was very helpful in accommodating some uncertainty in my schedule. Day of the job, I got a call with an ETA several hours ahead of time, and the crew of two showed up right at the time they told me. They were not particularly friendly, but I showed them what I wanted done and they got right to work. I left them to the job and when I came back a couple hours later it was done nearly to the best I could ask. There were a few pieces of asphalt left behind here and there but for the most part it was a very clean job with no damage to the original concrete driveway or adjacent flower beds. I would call Sutter Paving again or refer a friend to them.

Sutter did a great job of paving our driveway and the circle drive in front of our house. They were very detailed and made sure that the asphalt was sloped in the proper directions to provide water drainage away from our house. We are hoping to have them return to do more work on the rest of our private road in the future.

Sutter Paving is exceptionally professional from the estimate process through the paving and some inconsequential corrective work on one small area. The crew arrived timely, was friendly and the paving was completed as promised within 5 hours. The driveway is beautiful and I am very pleased. Although they were the most expensive of three bids, I received a quality job and knew I could rely on this company. I highly recommend them and would use them again.

It went fine. They arrived early with some machinery and a whole crew and, except for having to wait for some parts to replace the drain (which we had not anticipated would need replacement), they were very efficient. The new driveway looks great.

It was fine. He came on the 13th and I still don't have a bid from him. I met with him for about 20 minutes. And he went back and measured things. I didn't stay with him while he measured. I will call him to see what the estimate will be.

I found them through Angie's list and sent an e-mail. They came the first business day for an estimate and the work was completed in less than a week and a half - really impressive considering the rainy weather in the period. Excellent professional crew. They sub-contracted the sawing to Eastside Sawing due to some kind of problem with their own saw. They did an excellent job cutting the curves. Both the cutting and asphalt paving came out even better than I had hoped for. Highly recommended.

We live at the base of a hill so drainage was a big issue. They did a great job evaluating the situation and installing a long drain in front of our garage to catch runoff.

Mike came in response to our request for an estimate and walked the driveway with us. He sent us via email the estimate and a contract to sign and fax back to their office. The work was scheduled in conjunction with a job at one of our neighbors. Jay and his workers showed up at 8:30 AM unexpectedly. Jay and I walked the driveway to ensure he knew what areas needed patching or complete repair. Mike was supposed to notify us the night before but we never received the notification. The work was done very professionally and fast. The other job in the neighborhood was as a result of my notification out to the neighbors about any possible work needed. We had to wait about a month before the work was done as this is their busiest time of the year.

SUTTER PAVING PROVIDED A PROMPT AND QUALITY SERVICE IN PAVING OUR VERY LONG DRIVEWAY. THEY CREATED A BEAUTIFUL SURFACE AND A VERY AESTHETIC CIRCULAR DRIVE IN THE FRONT OF OUR HOUSE.
