Leonard was very thorough and precise. He was very accommodating with all of our questions and provided well thought out answers. He pointed out possible drainage issues others overlooked and it was a dry day when he came for the quote. His team was very professional and they completed the work in a timely manner. They did not respond to a telephone request for a proposal in Bellevue.

I tried to get them to come over to the house for an estimate three times. Cory was supposed to show up twice and twice it was a no show, not even a call to say he couldn't make it. These guys are not reliable nor professional.

My experience with Sutter paving was excellent from start to finish. Corey did the initial bid and Kevi scheduled the date. Leonard and crew did the work. The crew showed up on time, removed old asphalt , re-graded, layered new sub base and applied new asphalt. Leonard spent time consulting with us on how he will make the water drain correctly off the driveway, a specialty of Leonard and his experience. They were very professional, cleaned everything up, were mindful of landscaping, and left nothing behind. Suggested to leave it for a few days to "cure" and not interfere with the driveways new slope and contour for water drainage. We are extremely happy with their work and highly recommend for quality, price, product and customer satisfaction.

We thought he was very up front about what should be done to repave a 30 year old driveway. I particularly appreciate his honesty and his willingness to work within our schedule. His crew is professional and works like clockwork. It was a good experience and the driveway looks terrific! He is also doing other work for our neighbors.

We chose Sutter Paving to repave and expand our driveway because of their high ratings here, and because they have been professional, patient, and thorough in our long planning process. Leonard Sutter assessed the job personally, and recommended drainage improvements that I would not have thought of myself. We accepted all of his suggestions, including connecting the roof downspouts into the new driveway drain system. We are very happy with the improved runoff handling. He even put in a French drain (perforated pipe collection system) below ground, next to the house, and connected it to the catch basin. The first day was all excavation and grading. The crew was punctual, brought all the big equipment with them, and arrived ready to work. They were all personable and pleasant. Great care was taken to find the erstwhile water service main without breaking it. We knew it was in there "somewhere", and they found it without hurting it. A very big hole was dug, filled with rock, and re-covered. This was the place all the drainage water would end up. The mountain of excess dirt was then hauled away so I didn't have to deal with it. I only had to dispose of a load of tree roots that were dug up (the trees have been gone for years). On day two, everyone showed up on time again and got right to it. As promised, the job was finished on this second day. Leonard and his men checked, adjusted, and rechecked their work to assure the water would drain the right way. We are very happy with the result, and have received numerous compliments from passerby. One of my neighbors tells me that he is now going to hire Sutter to do his driveway.

We called two contractors, the other contractor have their "estimator" came in, I was really doubtful. He doesn't seems to have the first-hand experience and I worry what he promised might not hold true when the real workers comes in to do the job. For Sutter, the owner came in for the estimate, he was at the working site as well during the day of construction. What we talked about in the day of estimate, came into action during the day of construction. You get what he promised you. Leonard (the owner) and his workers are all experiences pavers! They have 30+ year in the field. I am verify happy with their work! Some highlight: They helped me to put some electric pipe in; helped me to rebuild a downspout water pipe which will run under the driveway. They were able to finish the project in one day (although firstly it was estimated to be two days). When they were paving, the guy walked through the edges (about 500ft of road edges), and carefully tamp it so that it has nice straight or curved edge (I?ve seen some driveway where the asphalt was dumped and rolled flat, the edges were really rough). The driveway is one of our biggest investment, we feel fortunate to have hired the right contractor.

Leonard Sutter, owner, came to our home and provided a great deal of information regarding a complete replacement of our driveway. We actually thought his company did driveway recoating and sealing which is what we were interested in, but they do not. He said we have about 3-5 years left before we should consider replacement. He referred us to another company for recoating/sealing that we are going to use next month. However, we will be contacting Leonard for the future replacement. We really appreciated his professionalism, advice and the fact that once he learned that we were not ready to replace, he did not up and leave!

I contacted them through Angie's list for a bid. I got it in a few days. Then I got tied up for a month or so with other issues. I decided to go with Sutter and got the date set. While I was working in the yard on a Sunday, Leonard came by to refresh his memory of the job. He said they would be there at 8:30 to do the work. They arrived, got after it and I now have a beautiful new driveway. I deal with vendors a lot as part of my job and I can tell you this was the right choice for me. I don't ask for much. Be accessible, do what you say you will do, when you say you will do it. It is stunning how many other vendors don't do these simple things. Thanks Sutter for a great job!

At first I had thought the quote was not sent, but turns out it went to an email address I don't check very often. We got that sorted out. We only got to the quote phase. I will include them as a candidate for future work based largely on their good reputation / scores here.

Left two messages in a two week period to get a bid but no one called back.

There are a number of reasons why I would recommend Sutter Paving. First, it is a family-owned business and a very professional one at that. Second, when Leonard Sutter came out to look at my existing driveway, he made some very helpful and intelligent suggestions about slope grading and material. He also sent a utility-locating service out here to make sure nothing would get harmed when putting in the new driveway. (The other two companies I checked out never mentioned doing this.) Although the two other proposals I got were slightly less expensive, they weren't as detailed or thoughtful. I felt safer going with Sutter Paving and my instincts were right. They did an amazing job yesterday. Leonard came with his brother and another guy who's been working with them for years. They were right on time and started prepping the driveway by removing the old asphalt and gravel and grading the hill. They also took out the rotted wood on either side of the driveway. It all turned out better than I expected! I can actually walk down my driveway for the first time in many years without fear of slipping. My landscaping on the sides was preserved, there are no bumps or humps, and the water drains much better. I couldn't have asked for a better or more thorough job.

I am more than pleased to write a very positive review about my experience having Sutter Paving replace my asphalt driveway. Leonard Sutter was prompt in providing his estimate and exceedingly knowledgeable about how to approach my lg. project. He was careful to have all of the underground electrical and cable lines and the drain field located prior to beginning, so that nothing was disturbed. In addition to the worn and uneven asphalt, Leonard noticed that the lawn area, which had been receiving copious amounts of rain runoff, was spongy and exceedingly wet. He suggested installing a new heavy-duty catch basin at the bottom of the driveway, and connecting it to my gutter runoff pipe with underground piping. By combining this new drain with careful sloping of the new driveway he said that the entire driveway surface water would be removed and the lawn would stay much drier and healthier. I was a little skeptical, but thought it was worth a try. Work day came and he and his team did a fabulous job. Leonard paid particular attention to testing the surface water flow using buckets and hose water. Bottom line: The finished driveway looked better than I expected and added to the curb appeal of my house a great deal. Bonus: When the first rainy day came, my new driveway drain worked like a charm! I can't believe what an artist he was in crafting the exact slope needed to solve this long-standing situation. I now look forward to a beautiful driveway AND a lovely lawn for years to come. Thank you Leonard!

Great experience. Professional, quick, reasonably priced. Good communication. Sutter Paving got the estimate to us within a day or two and fit the job in their schedule within days. They took care of the permits, got the job done quickly and did a great job. Very pleased and would, without a doubt, go back to Sutter Paving.

Sutter arrived on time, removed the concrete drive, installed the base, applied the asphalt, and were done by the end of the day. The job is superb. This sounds like "so what", but this one day means they did the work but also dealt with inspectors, moved sprinkler lines we didn't know about, applied extra base -at no extra cost above the estimate- to deal with 50 years of erosion and roots under the concrete, and made a beautiful work product. It's not just a driveway, it's a work product delivered with skill and pride. The Jeep misses the off-road experience of getting from the street to the garage. The neighbors are happy the old broken concrete is gone, and I don't mind being able to roll the trash down on the gentle slope of the driveway. My only "learning experience" from the project is that city inspectors do a valuable job but are so busy they are hard to schedule (and can hold up a job). Leave plenty of time and confirm appointments with inspectors. (In Bellevue, there is a required right-of-way use permit, pre-inspection, during inspection, post-inspection -- so that public right-of-way is restored -- all of which are reasonable but expensive at $350 and hard to schedule during the course of a one-day project.)

This was a very easy process. They came out and gave me an estimate the same day that I contacted them on Angie's. The work was done 2 days later with no issues. The work was high quality and exactly what I wanted. It seriously could not have been easier.

Awesome job! Worked with Jay on the quote/estimate. Also received great help in handling the permit process. A lot of communication from Sutter Paving to prep the job and setting a schedule that was convenient for all residents. They came in early and completed all driveways first then the entire road out to the main street. Very courteous, produced excellent work, and would definitely hire them again!

The company provided a very competitive bid and did an excellent job. They job went quite smoothly - it was 1 day to remove the old driveway, and 3 days to install the new driveway. The installation took a day longer than initially expected, but was completed promptly the following morning. We had a spot where the water was puddling a little, and the company fixed it right away. A year after we are very happy with the result.

Project was already permitted by City. The company worked around the 2-day notice that the City required and the weather. There were a few reschedules due to the weather (heavy rain). The work was completed in a few hours. The owner came to check the job site beforehand, and gave expertise on what type of gravel and asphalt to use. Very professional.

Leonard is a friendly and responsive business owner. He does stay busy which can make it hard to schedule time with him. He and his crew surveyed the job, dug and installed the drainage components, established the grade, cut the existing asphalt and hauled away excess material to prep for landscaping work we were doing at the same time. A couple weeks later he returned per our project plan to asphalt pave, including a nice transition from our property to the city street, and everything went very smoothly. I handled my own permitting, and the city inspector was happy with Leonard's work.

After a slight miscommunication on start dates, everything went great. They were fast and accurate and we no longer have an annoying lake in our driveway when the rains come down. Overall, they did exactly what we wanted and it looks great. I would definitely recommend them
