I was satisfied at the time Orland Ferraro finished the job in August 2013 because I trusted him from my co-worker. I told him I trusted him because I don't know about concrete. However, I found six big cracks after the job was done in April 2014. I called him and told his wife, the owner of the company, Linda Ferraro, that I was unhappy. When he called back, he told me rudely to look around, concrete cracks everywhere you look, and there's nothing he can do about it. There are large cracks on the stairs on my front porch. He claimed that he has 'over 30 years experience'. How could such an experienced contractor poured only 2 inches or less of concrete on the old existing stairs? It did not make sense. I consulted several contractors and a structural engineer. The work is below standard. It is a bad idea to pour concrete over existing stairs. They will crack and they won't last. I paid for new stairs, not a cover over my old ones. The only solution I was told is to remove them, form new ones and pour new stairs, which will cost $1,850. Orlando Ferraro assured me that the water would run away from my garage. On the side of the garage water is draining towards the garage and ponding against the garage. It's not a small puddle. How could he tell it's a small puddle if he's not here when it rains? It's a large puddle. He brought me 2 tubes of silicon sealant to have me seal the edge of the garage. He claimed it cost $50 each. I looked up online, it only cost about $5 each. He also made a suggestion to saw cut the concrete so it can drain. However, it'll look terrible. I paid $4,300 for the project for a saw cut? And I have to wait until the fall, when he has time, to do it. He was able to get the work done within a week after I ordered the job. This is how he treats customers. What do you think? I am unhappy because he has no respect for me. If he is a professional concrete man, he would take his time to take care of unhappy customers. I rented a metal detector. There's no rebar in my parking slab which he told me he would use. I have cracks in the patio he poured in August 2013 because he did not pull the stakes that were on the inside of the form until after the concrete dried. It left big pockets along the edge. This has caused cracking, and it looks terrible. He broke the asphalt when the concrete truck backed up to the edge. I told him I wanted a nice professional rounded finish, like a driveway should look, when I ordered the job. That's not what I got for $4,300! There was also a tire mark next to the patio in the dirt where the significant cracks are. That showed his workers pulled up on it with their heavy machinery. When I told him about that, he said his workers did not do it, like he did not believe me. And he is going to do anything about it. He claimed that he does not 'make' the concrete. I understand that, but if he has the skill, there shouldn't be this many cracks. Look around, all new concrete is not cracked this bad. You would think nearly $10,000 you get flawless work. Orlando Ferraro's company license was suspended on August 28, 2013, the day I paid him for $5,543. Now, he's running his business under his son's name. Why? By the way on that day Orlando Ferraro was yelling at his employees in my front yard so loudly that all my neighbors could hear him. My neighbor behind my house could hear him. On his website: www.ferraroconcrete.com he claims that his business is BBB Accredited. However, the truth is the business is not BBB ACCREDITED. I contacted BBB about this. I am very unhappy and because of the way he treated me, I won't trust him again.
