The work was done very well with no dry wall damage! I was surprised that they could do the work without any needed dry wall repair. Team was on time and very professional. I was happy to see that they took pride in their job and wanted to ensure the homeowners were satisfied with quality work. Which we were!! They had covers for our floors and furniture and did a complete cleanup before they left and put our furniture back to the original location. Again they just did a great job and provided high quality service with all aspects. From getting estimate, to scheduling appointment and through job completion. Even got a call the day the job was completed to ensure we were happy with service provided.

Service started great, but as time went on and the team working on the house got more frustrated with the situation (was a previously DIY home and the previous owner had no idea what they were doing), there was a lot more work needed than they had thought. As the project was clearly going to take more time than they wanted, the work started to get very sloppy. Outlets sizes were the wrong size, visible wall damage beyond what would be needed to cut a rectangle and they cut corners on installing new outlets where existing outlets were. After 3 months an entire wall died. Thankfully their warranty came in here and they promptly sent out someone to fix the problem. Turns out that the person that wired it (apprentice) was no longer working there and was known for sloppy work. The wires weren't fastened properly inside the wall and had caused a short. Everything is working for now, but for the cost (went with this company because I expected extreme professional service) wasn't worth it.

From scheduling to completion, everything was done to code, professionally and efficiently. The team stayed until everything was complete and all of my questions were answered. This is not the first time I've used SeaTown Electric and would do so again.

The employees were very professional and were on time with everything. The new wiring and outlets look great. The company was upfront with all the costs and work needed. Installation: SeaTown uses an automated system to notify you of appointments. Barring one "bug", it works perfectly. SeaTown sends an email identifying the technicians who will do the work with pictures. The team went about the day with precision, completing each stage of work exactly as they told us they would (2 days). No complications, no gotcha's, no add-ons. There were two outstanding items upon completion: the cold weather kit was not available, and the sheet rock work was scheduled 4 days later. This part impressed me the most. The cold weather kit was overlooked, and as such, they offered to withhold partial payment until installed. Although economically fair, I wasn't happy with that as there wasn't enough incentive to prioritize the follow-up work. They agreed, and we settled on a withholding 3x higher in one 30second phone call - seriously no hassle, no nickel & diming. As to the sheet rock work, I called the office in a bit of panic realizing that we hadn't locked that down either. Lisa promised to call me back "shortly" with specifics - which I only half believed. BUT, about 2 hours later, she called me with the name of the sheet rocker, a work date 4 days later and the specific time he would show up - Impeccable follow-through (albeit I started to twitch after 30 mins of waiting). In my opinion, what matters isn't perfection, it's how they handle the mistakes, the money and how transparent the process is. Do your homework, but i'm certain your winner will be SeaTown Electric!
Description of Work: This is a thorough review of the my generator selection and installation process in the Seattle Washington area with the hope that it guides prospective customers on what to expect and learning from my mistakes.. We recently moved to the area/State, and within the first few months experienced a total power outage. We learned that this was a common event. Being fairly ignorant about generators, I started my education through the power company - a free service they provide in which they help explain how to think about it, how to size the unit, high quality contractors that they have certified and will even come out to your home to oversee their recommended contractors assessment of your home. Larry, the power company's advisor asked me if I was ready to make a commitment of 50% after the onsite assessment. Larry showed up with W E Electric to evaluate my home. After their inspection, they informed me of the price, and very persistently asked me for a 50% deposit to hold my place in line (which was two months out). I was willing to move forward, but I insisted on some kind of written proposal before I gave anybody my money - they didn't go so far to as to even write down the proposal on a napkin - just words and asking for a check. Even worse, it was Larry (power company) that was insisting I give a deposit. I refused, requiring a written proposal which I received two days later. Once received, I called the office to give my credit card (which they told me was an acceptable form of payment). They informed me at that moment that there was a 3% surcharge for credit cards (very different than what the owner of W E Electric told me at my home). I hit pause. Within the week, I identified other generator vendors to come to my home to do an assessment and provide a proposal. My Specs: 22kW system, Cold weather kit, 3 Load Shed Modules, MobileLink. Evaluated Vendors: WE Electric, Washington Energy, Washington Electric, SeaTown Electric, (2 others eliminated over the phone). I got like for like bids, with slight differences on the fringes: inclusion of gas piping, sheet rock work, first year's maintenance. I was able to get all of them to normalize the proposals. SeaTown sent out Bryan Bos to do the assessment of my home. Setting up the appointment was super easy, Lisa in the office took care of that part. They agreed to interact with me via FaceTime (i.e I didn't have to take the day off). We reviewed the appropriateness of my gas service; validated the load shed module needs (i.e. electric car, oven, dryer); validated generator placement and cosmetic work; and talked about the whole process (permits, inspections, servicing). I was pleasantly surprised with an emailed proposal at 6:56am the following morning! The proposal was incredibly thorough, and had all the items we spoke about. Quoting & Pricing: I'm intentionally excluding the specifics of my negotiations as this is between each customer and SeaTown. That said, I was impressed by SeaTown's patience as I reviewed other proposals, the speed at which they responded and their complete transparency and follow-through. They gave me an install date 1 month ahead of WE Electric's even though they were brought to the table two weeks later. Although true for the other companies, let me emphasize that the price I paid was several thousand dollars less than the company PSE walked into my home for much more.

I think every thing is now (hunky dory) and we will find out for sure the next time line power drops out.
Description of Work: The new emergency generator was not working properly when Jon came to check the installation . He found that the unit would not start when he shut down the line power. He was unable to find the fault. He left and said someone would call and be out to find the fault. I said there was no poor weather for cast so no problem. Your scheduling dept. called, I think, the next day and said a crew was scheduled for 12/28. My wife thought it should be repaired sooner so called and suggested that perhaps you could improve on that date. Your crew was here the next day. Thanks
