The roofer, Lucky, was very thorough, knowledgeable, and a good communicator, He took photos of the roof problems and gave me a detailed explanation of the issues with my roof. He then repaired what he could. Some of the problems, like poorly installed ventilation, were beyond his scope of work. The only issue I had with with scheduling. My appointment for the maintenance was cancelled twice. I was eager to work with Polar Roofing on a new roof, but the estimator then cancelled the appointment for an estimate. This company has a problem with scheduling. I would hire them again, but they don't show up.

Initial salesman intruded on memorial day. 2nd salesman "chatted" 6 hrs between two days on unrelated topics. Lots of negotiations with owner promising vented ridge car (? term) which isn't functional on our roof grade and foam underlay. Not used. Price not comparable to those I know who've re-roofed.

Great...we receive lots of compliments on the finished product.

They were great I just misread the ad because I thought they did gutter cleaning instead of a roof maintenance. They are professional and I will recommend them and I will hire them if I need any roof repairs.

The maintenance team arrived on time and I feel I received the service I paid for. They were thorough and explained everything to me in detail. I had an area of concern which they addressed with some minor repair that has worked perfectly during the past several months of pouring rain. I'm very pleased about that! I expected the owner to call me back and go over the findings report as well as talk about roofing/ siding options. Over a month has gone by and I have not yet heard from him, thus I rated professionalism and responsiveness a "B." I haven't been in a hurry or I'd have moved on to a different company to get information about future work. Overall they did what they came to do and did a good job.

Wonderfully! We got a limited time promotion and were upgraded to triple pane windows. We went with white vinyl sliding windows and they look great. Our house is notably warmer and quieter now. The installed price was half what a competitor quoted and they set up financing at a good rate and with no hassle. Their installation crew was awesome! The level of care they took in protecting our home (especially our hardwood floors). They left everything cleaner than when they started and took all the trash and old windows away. The crew was courteous and cheerful. They really seemed to enjoy their job and working for Polar Bear. How refreshing!

The experience was very positive. Polar Bear previously did a roof maintenance and the experience was not positive. I provided feedback and received a call from Nate, one of the owners. I explained what happened and he listened and he offered to refund the price I paid or give them another chance and have the price I paid applied to the install of a SolaTube. Based on all the other positive reviews, I gave them a second chance, hoping that it was just a bad day. I'm glad I did. Nate and Justin (the other owner) were in contact with me throughout the process. The crew they sent over were great, taking the time to explain the process and answering my numerous questions with patience. They performed a high quality job and the Solatube is fantastic. They are small business owners that care about customers having a positive experience. They did exceed my expectations and I appreciate the effort to make me see my previous experience was just a bad day. I would recommend them based on this experience.

I e-mailed you to help me find a company that could replace a door at the rear of my garage and a storm door to my deck. They called me with in 30 minutes and set up an appointment. Nate came and gave me a bid. I then told him I would be out of town for a week. He said he would order the doors and I could call him when I returned. I return on Monday and they did the work on Wednesday. The crew of three did an excellent job and then cleaned everything up. To say that I was pleased is an understatement.

My two decks had originally been done with a GACO surface coating, and they were very beautiful at first. However, over time they had become sticky and absolutely unusable. Also they had gotten to be very unsightly and seemed -- to me -- almost impossible to repair. There were areas on the surface that appeared to be blisters containing moisture!! I had no idea what that might be. Honestly the decks posed a real challenge: Each was completely sealed with internal plumbing, having a surface of layered sand and glue, and was surrounded by a pony wall of 3-layer stucco, from 2? up. And both decks also involved high ladder work. I would certainly assess them to be difficult! I should mention none of the contractors that I had contacted had responded with a bid! That was quite frustrating. Maybe they didn't have time or didn't think they could do it! But the Polar Bear sales agents convinced me that Polar Bear could do it, if anyone could!!! So I decided to give them a chance. Polar Bear sent a couple fellows to re-do both decks from the bottom up. They were hardworking, and focused with attention to detail. The membrane expert was also a stucco expert! What luck! Even more importantly to me, they did not yield to taking a short cut to reduce the 6? flashing required by the supplier for warranty! A short cut would have been much easier and much less time consuming, but would have resulted in less than a first class job. I am convinced that doing first class work?is how first class companies maintain their reputations!! Well the work on both decks turned to be first class because of diligence, hard work and perfectionism. I never imagined the decks could look as nice as they do! I wish you could see them, because if you could, you would certainly choose Polar Bear to do yours! Yeah Polar Bear - you are a first class company! I'll recommend you to anyone...

It went great! They showed up on time, did what the deal said they should do, and they were very friendly. They did not try to sell me anything. If I need roof repair or any of the other services they offer, I will definitely give them a call. It may be of interest to other women that they did not talk down to me at all. Yes, that should be a given, but we know it is not.

Lucky and Cory were on time for their appointment and I was pleased with their work. They first accessed the attic to look for any problems. Lucky inspected the whole attic and just found a little mold beginning to appear in an area of the attic . He did the same for the attic above the garage which was okay. They than did a complete inspection of the roof and repaired the ridge cap at the front of our home and the very back. Lucky took a number of pictures on his tablet that he shared with us including before and after pictures of the repairs. He told us that we could get another 5 or more years from our roof and we were okay for now. That gave us some peace of mind since we had found some pieces of shingle in our yard earlier this year. I was very pleased with thier work and would hire them again if we needed any work done on our roof.

Initial assessment was very timely. We had a rock thrown through our lower floor window, so there was an open window that couldn't be closed. They did offer to board it up. The replacement would be about 1-2 weeks and it was replaced at the end of that 2 weeks. The workmanship was very good and the workman was very detailed in his work and in his instructions to us. We would highly recommend Polar Bear to friends and neighbors.

Polar Bear responded within 24 hours and we received a prompt quotation and followup. A representative visited with samples, accessed satellite measurements, explained metal roofing options and comparative points, and presented a compelling service and guarantee. All of my questions were answered in full. Making the final agreement was professional and efficient. Mark Goldberg was on it, he does great customer service - thanks! We now have an in house project manager who introduced herself and established the operational customer service channel. Polar Bear's professional service is impressive in all ways.

Did not contract for the work. While the proposed work -re roofing my home -was using quality materials and under manufacturer's certification, pricing was a substantial obstacle. Other roofers of equivalent or better references (and held substantially longer), and using equivalent high quality materials were as much as a third less after getting the Polar "best price". The estimator was punctual, and provided accurate information and references, and followed through on the contact.

His name was “Lucky”, friendly and experienced, not pushy, almost apologetic that my roof would soon need replacing, did his best and was thorough.

I bought an Angie's list special for a roof inspection including minor repair work and caulking on 5/29. The work was scheduled for 6/15. Lucky arrived promptly at 8:00 am. He removed his shoes without being asked and set his ladder on paper on top of the carpet. He inspected the inside of the roof from the attic and shared the pictures with me. He then went outside and climbed up on the roof. He took more pictures then came down and showed them to me. He gave me his recommendation without a high pressure sales pitch. I asked about a quote to replace the roof and he set me up with a separate appointment with a project consultant who could also discuss additional roofing, deck, and window concerns. He then went back up on the roof to do some minor caulking. He mentioned that they should refund some of my money because there was nothing to repair. I don't know if this will happen but it was nice to have him recognize that I paid for something I didn't get. Lucky also looked at a window problem before he left. Lucky was pleasant and professional. He also texted me the pictures.

We stopped by their booth at the Strawberry Festival to talk to them about siding and insulation for our house. They said they could come out and give us an estimate this week. They were pretty insistent that my husband had to be here for the estimate. He refused, saying that he works very long hours and doesn't want to spend his precious free time doing stuff that I can do on my own. They went ahead and made the appointment. During the appointment making process, they requested my phone number. I told them it was for messages only because I get too many spam calls. They said that's fine, someone would just call to remind me of the appointment. That brings us to the day before the appointment. They called NINE times. They left a message once saying they wanted to confirm my address. I didn't call back because I gave them my address once, no need to waste my time doing it again. Then there were 7 times they left no message. On the 9th call, I answered thinking it might be someone else. The man who called was fairly rude about telling me that they wouldn't come out unless my husband was home. They canceled the appointment for tomorrow, no regard for the fact that I have a schedule and they took up MY time that I could have scheduled something else. No apology, nothing. He said he could reschedule us for a time my husband could be home. My husband was very angry with them, and took them to task for refusing to do business with a woman on their Facebook page. Their response to him was not professional. And they said they have to have both spouses home for liability reasons. Nonsense. We've had many contractors here with just me home. Not one has had any issue with my husband being at work earning the money that pays for the contractors that I deal with. My take on it is that they are a hard-sell company and want to eliminate the "I have to talk to my husband" excuse. I had already told them we were just looking for estimates at this time, so I wouldn't need any excuse. I wasn't going to sign anything whether my husband was home or not. Either way, they lost a job and we feel like we dodged a bullet. Phew!
