Benny & Joe performed the work and did an outstanding job. They were friendly, courteous and very professional. I will definitely hire them again in the future.
Description of Work: Removed and replaced an old smoke detector. It was 26' high. They also cleaned up some markings on the wall left by previous contractor cleaning high windows.

Move on and don't use these guys!! Reported to BBB and horrible customer service. We were amazed that after receiving TWO equal estimates for less than $1,500 from Morgan Handyman that our closet repairs/remodel came in at over $3,800! From 16 labor hours to 31! There was a need to come back out as one (1) of the new doors needed to be trimmed and they didn't have the right closet brackets (not prepared?). So yes, there might need to be some additional hours but double the hours is a rip-off. Management could provide no guidance as to how they used up the entire budget on day 1 when only doing ~1/3 of the job. Simple logic says that either the estimates were purposefully low balled to get the job or they padded the work hours as high as they could get away with. Their eventual response to our questions was that they had sent the receipts and the detailed bill so there was nothing else to explain. Gee, thanks......

Hi [Member Name Removed], Back in 2021 you/your wife [Member Name Removed] had us out to provide an estimate for the closet projects. At that time you guys went with another contractor who did not do the job correctly. You contacted us again a few months back to come and fix the work. We provided an estimate, it was approved and we started the work. After starting the project it was discovered that the prior contractor's door opening width was not even allowing for standard size closet doors, thus requiring a change order. A change order was submitted for the additional scope of work which [Member Name Removed] approved in writing so we proceed with the work. [Member Name Removed] then had a very unprofessional conversation with my office manager and was screaming and yelling on the phone to him, which began our communication. I let you know that this type of behavior would not be tolerated, no one deserves to be spoken to like that under any circumstance. I was very firm and explained on the phone with you and in email that if it happened again we would pull off the job. You assured it would not so we completed the work. Since completing the project you have asked for additional phone conversations, emails, copies of the estimates, invoices, materials receipts etc. All of which we've provided (as we do for all customers) via your Google drive link, including all the before and after pictures. I understand that during the holidays finances can be tough; however we have kindly requested payment in full from you for weeks now, without payment made. As I write this response we are still asking for the final payment of $2,085.00 to be paid. We are kindly asking to be compensated for the work completed again, now publically.

This is a difficult review to write as we think Morgan has a lot going for them and we genuinely enjoyed speaking to everyone involved in our project, including Joe, Jose, Andrew, and Kim. We asked for a custom project that involved drywalling off our water heater from our laundry units, installing some cabinets above the laundry, and building a countertop (with laminate)to enclose the laundry units. We also contemplated putting some doors to enclose the laundry units when not in use. We ultimately decided against the cabinet doors which would have slowed down the project in their delivery and also caused it to go over budget. Three days into the project, we were feeling pretty good about Morgan's work and we want that to be clear. We had received a change order asking for an extension of the project from 3.5 days x2 workers to 4 days x2 workers to get the job done and we agreed that that small amount over budget was reasonable. But things went sideways on the last day, where the only work to be done was building the countertop. While we understood that part of that work involved going to Home Depot and purchasing materials, we didn't (and don't) believe that it took 16 man hours (a two-man team in one day) to plan and build the countertop pictured here and we don't think anyone, professional or otherwise, would disagree. We had concerns midway through the day when nothing visible was done yet and one of the workers was watching a video on his phone when we came down to check-in. When we received a request at day's end for a second change order for another 2-4 hours of work, we were exceptionally frustrated. We were told that the need for the additional work was that "the existing walls were not perfectly square and modifications had to be made that were not anticipated." We found this very strange, as it's hard to imagine any walls are perfectly square and one of the "existing walls" was the one had put up -they- had created for us and said we wanted to discuss our concerns as we'd already agreed to one change order and we didn't think the work done on day 4 was consistent with 16 man hours of work in terms of productivity and quality. The laminate for the countertop was still entirely uncut and left pretty awkwardly lying around our living room and the junk leftover from the wood-cutting for our counter was still sitting out in our yard. Frankly, we had a hard time believing that even if we approved a second change order, Morgan would complete the job as promised without a potential third change order. We tried talking to Kim, the owner, on the phone and were disappointed by how that conversation went. While she did ultimately take two hours off of our final invoice, we're left with an unfinished job and a complete loss of faith in a contractor that we hoped to use on several more home projects. It sounds like others have had better results but we won't be returning to Morgan; you can look at the picture and read our story and make your own decision as to whether we're unreasonable to feel the way we do.

As an Attorney in the construction industry I thought this was room to reasonably resolve this issue and meet halfway on the requested 4hr change order requested by our team for your custom project. At no time did we intend not to complete your project, but your request was for our team to come out free of charge to complete the remaining work. Customer service is always our #1 priority and immediately I offered to meet you in the middle and split the last 4hrs of work with you. Unfortunately you declined allowing us to come out and finish the work; but I still provided you the 2hr labor credit for the additional work remaining as I said on the phone. We do hope to receive payment in full as there is still a balance owing of $3,385, and this has been past due for almost a month now. We do wish you the very best, and thank you for speaking with me on the phone today.

Handyman "John" arrived early with all the tools and parts in hand. He saw the problem and replaced the defective outlets. He also looked at the panel box and gave me advice on some electrical issues in my carport and garage. He was pleasant and practiced social distancing. The office person was very patient and eager to assist me. I would hire this company again in a heartbeat

We have used Morgan Handyman for our regular house cleanings for years. We are very loyal because we love our housekeeper Yusely. We love her and her attention to detail. She's come to know our family and our doggos love her. My husband regularly asks me how long until she comes back again because he thinks she's amazing. When we owned a property rental we also hired them to do a deep cleaning after tenants moved out. Once she was done with the house, it was spotless afterwards no matter how dirty the tenants left it.

The most important things about GC projects are (in rank order): 1. quality work, 2. good communication 3. showing up when you say you're going to show up. 4. Price. Fernando at Morgan was my main POC on the 2 projects (adding gates to close off our back yard and opening up some space under out garage stairs for storage). He and his team were great to work with, and hit on all of the above. Morgan was a little bit higher in price than other quotes I received, but what we got was great work, good communication and a project that finished on time (excluding the snow event that hit in February). That's worth a slightly higher price point in my book. I will definitely use Morgan again in the future.

Fernando was prompt, courteous, efficient and attentive to detail. I contacted Morgan Handyman & Remodel only after my usual contractors said they were unable to help because they were booked out for months (typical, of course, in Seattle these days) and I needed to get the work done within a few weeks. I had never used them before, but found them here on Angie's List, and am so glad I did. Fernando went beyond the call of duty in actually suggesting and ordering a particular model of dishwasher that fit perfectly in an odd-shaped alcove, replacing a model that was no longer manufactured. This solved a problem that I feared would require a remodel of the kitchen merely to accommodate a new dishwasher. He was able to solve it in a much simpler and far more cost-effective manner! Finally, the company is highly automated in their invoicing, meaning that I can receive and pay deposits and balances all online, quickly and easily! I strongly recommend them!

I want to recommend everything about the professionalism of this company and its employees. I have had them visit twice to work on small jobs. Both employees (Fernando and Joe) were extremely polite and professional; basically everything I want and have trouble finding. It went very well Fernando and Joe were here promptly. Gave great advise and ideas for the threshold repair. Made a quick trip for materials needed and went right to work. The door installation went very smoothly; they had to improvise on the door trim and it turned out great. Booth men were knowledgeable and waisted no time. I would this service again and recommend it too.

We hired Morgan handyman to complete three minor projects in our bathroom that had just been remodeled: install our new sink, toilet, and bathtub trim. They were at our home while we were out of town which was our mistake. However, during the time they were here working they ran into multiple unforeseen issues with the installation of parts. Instead of the people on the job calling us directly, we kept getting emails from an off site office manager. This caused multiple delays during the work and only one of three projects was completed by the end of the day, even though we ended up paying for 16 man hours of labor. When we had a licensed plumber out to the house to complete the other projects that Morgan handyman had not finished, he ended up having to fix the sink installation that Morgan had completed (which had a leak and was visibly crooked with pipe hoses sticking out). My conversations with the owner to come to an agreement on the final bill were very frustrating. She refused to take ownership of the inefficient communication from that day and the time wasted for the work they attempted. She gave us a modest credit at the end, but we expected significantly more due to the overall poor communication, the incorrect installation of the sink, and for not completing the other two jobs we had agreed upon. We will most definitely not be using this service again.

Dear [Member Name Removed], It's unfortunate when customers choose not to provide an accurate accounting of details when resorting to reviewing a company online because it makes it look like both sides were unable to communicate or resolve the matter professionally. As the owner of Morgan Handyman & Remodel I spoke with you on the phone from the very beginning of your job and explained the reason why we follow up with email is to provide pictures, that way when we are communicating with our customers who are not present at the job site they can see what we are referring to (because we've sent them pictures via email). As the home owner you were acting as your own General Contractor to perform a full bathroom remodel. You received our company info from the tile installer you were using, they referred you to our company to finish several remaining projects needed. Companies don't make referrals lightly as they are putting it out there that they trust another companies work. They continue to refer our company because of the high quality work we produce for our customers, and the way we communicate every detail of their projects. When we originally came out for the estimate on 9/25/17 to bid on the toilet replacement, sink replacement, faucet & fixture install ect. you did not have the materials onsite at that time. You instructed our estimator that you had already ordered everything you wanted and were waiting for the items to come in. On 10/6/2017 is when we started the work. At which time you emailed us the day before letting us know the fixtures had not arrived and we would need to reschedule that work at a later date. This issues that came up with your project was not having the materials on-site when you were having the different contractors out to do the work. These issues are easily avoided when using a General Contractor like our company to run the project as we can ensure the materials purchased will be the right fit/size for the project. The tub faucet you purchased could not be installed because the plumber that you had out prior to the tile installer finishing installed the copper pipe that did not have the fitting. We recommend against using your suggestion of the universal kit, because it's a very weak plastic piece that leaks water constantly behind the wall. We offered to install it per your request but we needed in writing that we would not be held responsible for any leaks. The toilet that you ordered did not match the current toilets flange location, because the new toilet was such a different size. Again we sent you picture of this. It would require a licensed plumber to relocate the flange, and we communicated that to you and sent you pictures. The sink you ordered was installed and upon installation our technician noticed the galvanized plumbing coming out of the wall was leaking as well. The was leaking behind your wall. We reported this to you as well with pictures, communicating to you a licensed plumber would be needed to replace that portion of the failed pluming. As the owner I made sure to communicate with you verbally, I sent pictures to you with every area that needed additional work ect. Understanding your inexperience in remodeling I even offered you a reduction off the final invoice as a simple loss to our company, to ensure a good customer service experience, which you paid right after we got off the phone. I do wish you the very best with the remaining work needed to complete your bathroom remodel project and thank you for the time you took to provide this feedback to our potential/future customers as well.

I was really excited about potentially working with these guys. Not just for the drainage issue we asked to receive an estimate for, but to now have a contracting company on deck for a myriad of issues we discovered in our new home of a little over a year. They came out, reviewed and NEVER sent an estimate. The guy said it would take two days. I patiently waited over a week and reached out. The young lady checked with him and I had to follow up. She then was checking with other contractors (wasn't sure if that meant they outsourced). I still had to follow up. I sent a one last try email, no response. Being kind and patient gets you nowhere with these guys. AND I referred them to my neighbor. I'm disappointed because they have great reviews and I had to stalk to no avail.
