It went really well! From the initial phone call until the end, Brian was great. Since I'm new to the whole "I need a sewer guy" thing, I called multiple places to get estimates. Brian at Greenlake Sewer and Drain was the only one who asked enough questions that I felt more comfortable and actually learned something through the process. He showed up on time, was very courteous and professional... He explained the whole procedure and once the hydro part of the cleaning was done, he used the scope to show me what was happening. And then he gave me tips on how to prevent more root growth and how to ensure a healthy sewer line for the future. Here's the thing: Supporting small business in your community is HUGE. And, anyone worth their salt is going to explain their processes and be open and honest about expectations, money and time. If you need a sewer guy, Brian's the guy.
Description of Work: Our sewer line was riddled with roots and debris from years of not being serviced (we just bought the house) and Brian did a hydro-cleaning of the clay pipes to rid it of the roots. There were a few hangers-on, which he showed me using a video-scope, and went in with a blade and got the rest of it out.

I called Greenlake Sewer to get a quote on side sewer repair, as we recently had it scoped and another contractor recommended pipe bursting. Brian was punctual, professional, friendly, and knowledgeable He took a look at the DVD of the recent scoping and looked around the property. As it turns out, he doesn't do large repairs, but recommended getting our pipes lined and gave me the names of a few companies to call. While we obviously can't hire him for this particular situation, I'd likely give him a call for smaller projects.
Description of Work: Looked at sewer scoping DVD and gave recommendations.

We are in the process of contacting his referrals for estimates, as I write this.
Description of Work: Provided a camera search and dvd of my sewer line. He discovered that there were rocks in my line that needed to be removed. He was unable to perform this task due to the location of the problem, but he did provide several references of people that he thought could do the job at a reasonable cost. Brian is highly recommended.

He was a very good guy. He was very straight forward. He did what he needed to do and left. I got a $9000 quote from another company and he really saved me money.
Description of Work: The sewer line needed to be cleaned. He took a camera and went through the entire line that went out to the street. We could see exactly if there is any roots or anything else. It was a clay pipe and there was some small roots at the very end of the line. There is a chemical treatment that you can use and mix it up in a 5 gal. bucket and you pour it into the sewer line and it seals the line for about a year. It basically sufficates the roots. If you that at least once a year at the most I will never have anyone come out. He gave me a bacterial pipe cleaner and use it once a month and said that I'm good to for a very long time.

If they had a category for an A +++ I would give that rating!! After receiving a HUGE quote to jet a line at a rental house, I went to my Angies List directory. This company had a special thru Angies list- They were prompt, efficient and less than half the price of the 1st Co. I called.!!! The tech was a problem solver and educated me to the placement ( and oddities!! ) of my own sewer line. Everything was fine and dandy in less than an hour- This is now my official Drain & Sewer People!!!

We found Greenlake Sewer and Drain via Angie's list. From the first point of contact through the completion of our job, the owner, as well as the helper he brought on the second visit, were professional and courteous every step of the way. They not only fixed our blocked drain, the owner also gave us great tips for other surface water issues that we are planning to fix on our own.. The work providd was consistant and they completed the job quickly. We were especially impressed by the cleanliness of the work areas. We were especially please that they also cleaned the area on the street where the work truck was parked. (an area that's often neglected by most contractors). Although the entry point of the drainpipe was under our home, the location of the blockage ended up being on my neighbor's property. When I let my neighbor know that our work had been completed, he was shocked. He had simply assumed that the work hadn't been started, because the area looked like it had never been disturbed! Needless to say, we highly recommend Greenlake Sewer and Drain. We believe that we got our money's worth and more...
Description of Work: Greenlake Sewer went under our home to troubleshoot a blocked surface water drain using a probe with a camera that fed images to a video screen. Greenlake identified the precise location, including the depth of the blockage, which saved us valueable time and money in locating the blockage. To save a bit of money, we had our landscaper dig up and move a small tree that would be in the way. Using the information provided by Greenlake, our landscaper dug a narrow hole down to the crushed drain pipe. The location a depth was exactly where Greenlake said the blockage would be. Greenlake Sewer came back to dig a larger access hole, repaired the pipe and verified that the blockage was resolved. The Camera Scope Visit was $219, including tax. The digging of a larger access hole, than repair the blocked drain was $386, including tax.

Excellent Service and Very Professional. He did not try to up-sell us or have us do extra work that was not needed.
Description of Work: I had a backed up sewer pipe and Called on Wednesday, 7:30 p.m. and left a voicemail and received a phone call right back. Received another Call Thursday Morning saying the soonest he was available was Friday Morning at 10 a.m. As a Person in the construction industry I realize that good contractors & Subs are in high demand, and not always immediately available. 38 hour response time for the quality of service I received is very respectable in my opinion. My wife met Brian at 9:30 a.m. Friday Morning and he promptly cleared our sewer line and did a video camera inspection, explaining that our 52-year-old Main Sewer line (concrete Tile Pipe) was in acceptable condition, and did not need to be replaced. He explained some various causes of the backup and recommended a natural enzyme to help clear the pipe and avoid future clogs. I will without a doubt call him again when my next sewer issue arises.

At 9:00 on a Tuesday night our sewer backed up in our basement. I went to Angies list and found Greenlake Sewer. I called first thing Wednesdaymorning and left a message. I received a call back from Brian, the owner, within 15 minutes letting me know that he was just finishing a joband that he could be at our house by 11:00. Brian showed up right on time and went straight to work. I showed him that we had two clean outs and he decided to scope both. We discovered that the new sewer line put in just 6 years ago had already developed a belly which was part of the reason for the back up. Evidently our 7 year old had also been sending wads of toilet paper down the toilet. The other reason was where the belly had formed a bunch of sludge had built up in the six years since the new pipe was put in which Brian got rid of. Instead of trying to sell us a new line he gave some great suggestions on how to keep the build up down to a minimum. Brian was very knowledgeable and his equiptment was clean and organized. I would recommend Greenlake Sewer to any of our friends and any of my fellow Angie's list customers. You won't be disappointed!
Description of Work: Backed up sewer line. Greenlake sewer came out and scoped the line to determine what caused the back up. Brian scoped from inside the house as well as the outside clean up. We discovered a belly in the sewer line that had been replaced in 2007. Brian made some great suggestions and didn't try to sell us on replacing the existing sewer line.

Great response time and price. It was a coupon deal and it was exactly the price on the ticket, though tax had to be added after. This was a fifth of the price of another company's quote to do the same, so it was more than worth it! I would recommend the service to anyone!

We had video inspection of our sewer line from the house to the street, in anticipation of a possible repeat of a backup we had 5 years ago, when we had the line rotorootered out after a flood in the lower level. Fortunately, there were no roots or obstructions in the line so no rotorooter job was needed this time. Brian is very personable, professional and easy to work with. He gave us an Angie's List discount. Highly recommended.

He came over and spent a couple of hours inspecting and flushing out our sewer line. (Unfortunately, it turned out to be an unnecessary/premature procedure because the previous homeowners had already done this work in the months between our inspection and us moving into the house!) But he did give us some ideas about proper maintenance and answered our questions.

Once again Brian's work was outstanding. My only regret is that I did not find Brian sooner. The following are my comments for the work Brian completed this past July: Brian did the work & he was outstanding. He ran into challenges during the job because of many turns in the pipes and did not have the a layout of the underground system. He cleared the pipes and then provide me a CD showing the inside of a section of the pipe that needs repair. Brian is one of the best contractors I have ever worked with and will look to him for all my sewer and drain problems.
Description of Work: Brian put a clean-out in an exterior drainage system and then hydro-jetted the drainage system. This was work needed in follow- up to work completed this past July.

Brian got right to it when he arrived. As he prepared the equipment, he recommended that if it turned out roots were the problem (as we thought) we might consider having him put RootX in the drain to r***** future growth. He answered my questions about it without hesitation. He even suggested that I research RootX while he snaked the pipe, to make sure I understood the chemicals and the environmental impact. When he was all done, he cleaned up, had the paperwork ready, and described the job thoroughly. I'm very pleased with the work, his approach, and the price!
Description of Work: Called Greenlake Sewer and Drain today because of Angie's List recommendations - our sewer backed up last night, and we've lived here a long time so we were pretty sure the problem was roots in the side sewer line. Brian was prompt and professional - he called to let me know he was running early, and came about an hour before the original time. He told me what he was doing, made sure I knew about the Angie's List special, cleaned out the many roots that were blocking the pipe, and showed me the camera of the pipe so I'd know what he had done.

Brian was fantastic - I highly recommend him. He was easy to schedule with, punctual, very friendly, and he did a good job for a great price. I was quoted $600 just for the hydrojetting plus an additional $100 for a video inspection by another contractor; Brian came in and did all of that plus the RootX for $300 including taxes. I will call Brian next time I need sewer work done.

Prior to buying my house I had a sewer scope done that showed an obstruction ~90ft down. After closing I brought in Greenlake sewer to snake and re-scope the sewer line. Prior to the appointment Brian reviewed the previous scope video to understand the situation. On the appointment day, he arrived exactly at the scheduled time. He was very friendly and professional. He spent a couple hours scoping, snaking and giving guidance on what I should do for the long term care of my sewer. During the course of the inspection he identified one of the toilets was obstructed and offered to plunge it for me, when the plunger didn't work he snaked that as well for no extra cost. I would be happy to work with Brian and Greenlake Sewer again.

Experienced some serious drainage backups in our daylight, finished basement. After the wax seal on the toilet gave way I snaked the drain myself and managed to clear a substantial clog. Unfortunately, the problem persisted and I had to call in the pros. Brian from Greenlake Sewer and Drain came out the same day and finished unclogging the system (two clogs, one close to the toilet and one about 35 feet up the main line) in about an hour.
Description of Work: Brian came out and determined that our backed-up basement system was a mainline drain problem. He was out the same day that I called and fixed the issue in about an hour using an professional auger. He cleaned up the clogs too. Very professional and for the right price ($150 + tax). I would definitely recommend him for others having serious backup or drainage issues.

Description of Work: Our swimming pool drain is connected to the downspout drain system and the pool would not drain when needed. Brian came on time and hydo-jetted several downspouts that drain to the street. The pool now drains perfectly. Brian was prompt, professional and very friendly. His price was very fair. I highly recommend him for any such drain clearing work.
