Dennis was fast with his responses and very knowledge. We immediately felt comfortable with him and his team installing the stairs in our home. He also was kind enough to help with some transitional pieces in other parts of our home. I would highly recommend this company if you are looking to have new flooring installed.

Dennis' work was superb. His attention to detail was wonderful. He was very conscientious about helping me choose just the right wood and achieve the finish I was looking for. He carefully crafted threshholds for each room. Throughout the project he kept in communication and may be the only contractor I've ever worked with that kept to the schedule promised and actually completed the project with time to spare! While I thought his work was amazing, my belief was confirmed when on the final day of the project another professional woodworker was on-site to help with some doors and raved about Dennis' work.

Dennis was very responsive when I called to set up an estimate (which is rare nowadays with contractors in my experience). Once we agreed for him to do the work, scheduling was easy and he even texted me when he was on his way on the day of the job. The flooring was installed very well and in a timing manner. Dennis and his co-worker were clean and professional and seemed to take pride in their work. I would hire him again if I need future work done.

I always remind my wife that no contractor is going to do "perfect" work on a job because our expectations are so high. Dennis and his son, however, came the closest to being PERFECT as any contractor we have hired. It is always tough to go into an existing house and work around everything that is already in place, but Dennis did an excellent job in respecting the rest of the rooms in our house. Preparation and clean-up before and after was flawless. He was referred to us by our neighbor, who had had his floors refinished by DW. My neighbor couldn't say enough about the quality of DW Installation's work, so I decided to hire him without having any other contractors bid on the work. Dennis came out a few days earlier than our scheduled appointment because he happened to be in the neighborhood. When we met, he measured our floors, discussed the different options we had, and gave us the confidence that he would do a great job. Prior to the job, we were having trouble picking out a suitable stain color. I mentioned a few colors that we were considering and Dennis put together a large, sample plank with a half-dozen colors and a clear finish on it. Seeing how the colors would look on our floor helped tremendously and we were able to pick a color that would work. DW uses a "dustless" system so we didn't have to screen off the house with plastic like with a previous contractor. It was amazing how clean the house was after he was finished. The job took a week to complete. We decided to stay put the first few days (pretty noisy), but had to leave the last few days because of the smell and fumes from the three finish coats he put on the floor. When we came back to see the finished job, we were amazed at how good it looked. The floor was glistening and looked just like a plate of glass had been placed over the floor. Prior to the job, we pointed out few problem areas on our existing floor due to water damage and Dennis took care of each one of them. Everyone who has seen our finished floor said it looks like it had just been installed. Dennis was a joy to work with. He has an outgoing personality and really knows his business. I know you won't be disappointed if you have him re-finish your floors. We had to wait a few months to have him do our floors because he is booked well in advance. For us, it was well worth the wait.

DW did a great job, Dallas was present the entire time overseeing his polite, and skilled group of workers. They were never late, always very respectful to our house and property, and kept a tidy and clean work site. Dallas checked their work regularly, and they were eager to take responsibility and fix any problems that we could notice. They were prompt with solutions, and whenever there was a problem or a concern they were always prepared to pitch me 2-3 solutions along side of the problem, as a manager of a small company, this is what I am constantly looking for in employees, and they were eager to help. The floor is beautiful, finished, and their installation was crafstmanesque for the price. Great company, great service.

I inquired whether he could do measurement and installation of a stair runner for my home, and his immediate reply was "Yes, but I don't have time right now." I told him I was in no hurry, but he said he wasn't sure when he could do it. I decided to look elsewhere.

They were fine. They were professional, they came out and did the quote and gave us their number. The price was high.

Great experience. Very accommodating with the intermittent nature of how the project progressed. All of that was my decision making. Did great work finding the wood we were looking for. Really nice work on the installation. The stairs look fantastic. The whole floor does, but the stairs are really, really nice. The work was done in a very timely manner. I have no complaints and we plan to use this vendor again when we get more carpet converted to wood flooring in other rooms in the house. ** Note that the location where the work was done isn't accurate. The Angie's List menu only give an incorrect zip code or provider's location as options along with my full address. I am NOT putting that on a review. The actual zip code where this was done is 98059. **

Provider scheduled a visit to give an estimate for the job. He never showed up, and never called to say he wasn't coming (he had our number). Just blew us off. The only reason he didn't get an "F" was that this was only for the QUOTATION visit, not the actual installation (had he acted the same way for that, it would have been an F). But based on this lack of professional response on this, I can't say I have any trust in him to do the actual job.

Have worked with Dennis numerous times and it's always a positive experience

I interviewed five flooring contractors and I selected Dennis because, when I met him, I was convinced of his ability and desire to do a good job and because he offered me a top-of-the-line, nailed down hardwood floor for a cost competitive with what I was being offered by others for engineered, floating flooring. I also especially liked that he was an independent contractor and not a salesman from a big flooring company. I was concerned how it was possible to install new flooring in a fully finished apartment with no garage or outside space to move furniture. This was not a problem for Dennis and Jeremy. I packed up small items and they moved all the furniture, the stove, the refrigerator, the washer and dryer--everything. And, when they were finished they affixed felt protectors on all my furniture and placed each piece back in its original place. Dennis installed the flooring exactly as I wanted it: North and South in the hall, kitchen, and bedroom; and East and West in the living room. He made beautiful transitions into each change of direction and at the entry door. In the past I have dealt with contractors who were argumentative or who found reasons to inflate their original estimates in ways that were not convincing. This did not happen with Dennis. Dennis was always in good humor, he charged me exactly what he quoted, and he offered to take care of any problem that comes to my attention. My experience with Dennis was by far the most satisfactory I have had with any contractor.

It looks great. You cant even tell where he patched. He went above and beyond with attention to detail that we did not even anticipate. Work was done quickly and on budget. Great customer service from Dennis and his team. We would recommend him to anybody and already have.

Although we weren't able to have Dennis bid our job due to our expedited timeframe, he was polite and professional in declining the opportunity to bid our job.

Dennis was highly recommended to me. He is always cheerful and full of "can do" attitude. He gave me a fair written bid and did not "nickle and dime" me to death like so many other firms attempted. On the day of the install, he called to see if it was ok if he arrived 2 hours early which I welcomed. Due to the earlier time, I didn't have the rooms cleared of the light items but he and his assistant cheerfully pitched in. I had some chronic floor squeak areas he quickly solved. They were fast, careful with my home and carefully cleaned up after themselves. The carpet looks fantastic! Thank you so much for a job well done!

Dennis was professional and always had a "can-do" attitude. There were a couple of miscommunications along the way, but he was always upbeat, positive, and made it work. He was always on time and his time and cost estimates were right on the money. The results are awesome. Our manufactured home was pretty trashed. It looks really great now.

Work was performed professional and quickly. Dennis recommended a wholesale outlet so we could select our flooring materials. We paid for the materials directly to the outlet. We received very high quality flooring at a good price.

I had Dennis and four other installers quote on purchasing and installing Kentwood prefinished engineered hardwood floors. Dennis's quote fell in the middle of the five I received. I was able to find the flooring at near wholesale prices myself so I made my decision based on the installation only. While Dennis was not the cheapest, the excellent reviews of his work on Angie's List and his professional demeanor gave me the most confidence that he would do a good job. Dennis and his coworker showed up on time everyday, kept the job site clean and finished the job on schedule. The quality of the workmanship was top notch. I have absolutely no complaints and wouldn't hesitate to hire Dennis again.

Dennis arrived on time for the estimate, listened to our concerns, gave a detailed and informed evaluation. Responded quickly with a fair and reasonable quote, then provided updates on his research for the wood and other materials. We had 2 challenges and he went above and beyond to satisfy us. (1) The living and kitchen area had existing maple wood; we needed the hallway to continue with the new maple wood at the same height without a bump or transition and he did a fantastic job. (2) We were moving into a condo and needed the approval of the neighbors below us to install the new wood, due to noise concerns. Dennis researched adhesive and padding products to place under the wood with official soundproofing ratings to help us gain approval from the neighbors, which also added the needed height. He kept in excellent communication with us every step and met our timeline by working extra on Easter Sunday - way above and beyond! The result is a beautiful maple floor, with a professional and finished look. This included special cutouts in the office to accommodate the cable wire. Dennis is very experienced and has great credentials. His assistant is also very experienced and professional. They work hard together and are easy to deal with. I highly recommend this company!

Dennis was very quick to respond to my request for a quote. We talked on the phone the same evening I sent out the request and he was over at my house the next day. The day after that, I received a quote. I also contacted two other companies about replacing my tile floors with hardwoods. One company didn't even respond and the other told me that the job was too small for them to do and they didn't think they would be able to match it very well. On the other hand, Dennis was very responsive and professional and explained that while the floors would not be a perfect match because of the age difference of the floors amongst other factors, he would get close. Dennis was fairly quick to start the job and the results are beautiful. The floors match well with the existing floors and now everything flows better.

I chose him not only because he was professional and friendly but also because he offered advice on the TYPE of flooring that should be used in the kitchen. He did only what was necessary and suggested a floor store for our family to choose materials. He will even offer ways to save (if you want to do a little legwork yourself). I will have him back for my home for sure.

When Dennis White started our project, we had 41 boxes @ 20.9 square feet equals 856.9 square feet total. Minus the 75 square feet we have left equals 782 square feet. My guess is he had had least 17 square feet of "waste", which would have put him back down at 765 square feet, which is where the other contractor had based his bid on. The difference in cost between 765 square feet and 800 square feet Dennis charged us, is about $160 in labor and sales tax. Before the job was complete, I had another discussion with Dennis White about our three bedrooms which butted up against the new hardwood flooring he was installing. We have oak hardwood under carpet. His cost to refinish was $4.00 a square foot for anything 500 square feet or more. Under 500 square feet his cost was $5.00 a square foot. On January 14, 2013 I asked him for a written bid, it came back at 447 square feet @ $5.00 a square foot for $2,235. I sent him back an email, asking for the $4.00 a square foot rate, which would have been $1,788. He said no. I pointed out that using his pricing logic, a man with a 400 square foot job being charged $5.00 a square foot the cost would be $2,000.00 If his neighbor had a 500 square foot project, at $4.00 a square foot, his job would ALSO cost $2,000.00. You see what I am saying? Any job that falls between 400 square feet and 500 square feet should cost no more than $2,000.00. I closed with "Do the right thing". Dennis White's answer? "...I am going to have to reserve the right to refuse you service."

He was very punctual , professional and helpful. He answered all my questions. Since the price was higher than our budget, we opted to attempt to do it ourselves. Rather than being disappointed, Dennis reassured me that we could do it. Thanks Dennis!

Dennis gave us an estimate for the job soon after we called. He measured the space correctly and only charged for the actual square footage not the materials we purchased. He arrived on time and did a professional job on floors that are less then perfect. We plan to use him again for the other rooms. We saved over $1,300 by ordering our floors online and hiring Dennis directly.

We contacted DW to get a quote on lifting our carpet in two rooms to remove the vinyl and old fir flooring underneath. Dennis was able to remove and store it temporarily with very short notice. After the vinyl was removed, he came back to install new subfloor, pad and carpet. It looks as good as it did before the removal. Other companies were contacted and told us that they weren't interested, so finding and working with Dennis was a pleasure. He was responsive, professional and did the job the way we wanted while staying within the bounds of what was realistic and reasonable. His service seemed fairly priced as well.
