This was the first time we used their services. They had a great furnace at a good price. I set up an appointment to have them come out to look at our old furnace and they were willing to fix it at a reasonable price. It was about twenty years old and we decided to get a new one. They came back at a time suitable for both of us to install it. It took about half a day to install it. They had trouble with the venting and are coming back to fix it. When I called them about it they were very responsive.

It was awesome. Blue Flame did a great job from start to finish to ensure we were completely satisfied. We noticed the first couple days after the install that the air seemed to be coming out of varying vents at varying speeds and they rushed right out to regulate it across each of the vents. They were quick and did a great job! We'd definitely recommend!

I had another company come out on Memorial Day to diagnose the problem, and they came back with a very high estimate to repair this 19 year old furnace. Because we are going to remodel soon, we did not want to replace the furnace, but did not want to spend $700.00. I searched Angie's List, and was pleased with what I saw. I emailed Rodd, he answered me a couple of hours later, and I was on the schedule, and tonight I have heat! YEAH! Easy to work with, pleasant receptionist, no hassle installer Devon, I am a happy camper.

Excellent service. Don came out on the day of installation to do a walk through with his crew and I. I've dealt with other contractor and by far his service was superior. He installation crew was very courteous and knew exactly what I wanted done and installed the equipment above and beyond my expectations. I would recommend anyone to contact Don for heating and a/c.
Description of Work: Don came out to our residence and gave an estimate for a new 80% efficient trane furnace and a trane heat pump. Don was very helpful in not just giving info about the furnace/heat pump but other projects we had going on at the house. Don came back to our residence twice to answer questions in person. Everytime I contacted him, he would answer the call or call back in an hour. His company installed a 80% efficient trane furnace, with media filter, ducting, and heat pump.

He was very professional and honest. He fixed the furnace and also determined that it was operating inefficiently so he fixed that and made some recommendations for maintaining it. He didn't try to sell us new furnaces or any special filters.

I phoned the company in the morning and they offered to be out within a couple hours. True to word, they arrived in under three hours. The repairman was very professional and pleasant. I explained the situation to him and admitted that I had just checked our furnace filter and it was filthy. I asked if this could have triggered the problem. He then checked a part that shuts the furnace off when it starts to overheat (like when the filter is too dirty). He pulled it out, hit it with his screwdriver and returned it to it's place. Sure enough, now the furnace worked like a charm. He explained that this part frequently gets stuck in the open position after activation and even showed me how to fix it if the problem happens to me again. He could have sold me a new part and charged me $$ for installation and I would never had known, but he was very honest and even shared with me how to avoid a service call in the future. Overall the appointment lasted around 10 minutes and he just charged me for the standard service call ($79). Thank you Blue Flame. I'll call you again next time!

Truly awful. It is a long and involved story. If you are going to use these guys I suggest: 1. You have some prior knowledge of heating & air conditioning, especially when it relates to duct work in old construction. 2. You are versed on what permits are required for the area you live in. 3. You have a thick skin and do not get upset when people curse at you (or get in your face a la Larry David). In addition be sure to show them the copy of the Angie's List magazine with the coupon which may or may not apply depending on their mood!
Description of Work: Installed a new heat pump in a duplex. Added new ducts and tied into preexisting ducts.

Salesman was friendly and informative. Proposed price was notably lower than 3 competitors. The lead installer was friendly and explained the installation. Work was completed on time. The crew cleaned up the area. However, there was no stand for the water heater; it was on the proposal, but not on his work order. He left a phone message with the salesman. A couple hours later I left a similar message. I never heard from the salesman. A rep from the office did phone the next day to tell me a tech was coming the next day. The install of the water heater went smoothly. A week later we had a hot water pipe leak, unrelated to the installation. I called Blue Flame and asked about shutting down the water heater. The receptionist said all the techs were gone, but she would try to get ahold of someone. In 45 minutes she connected me with a tech, who patiently walked me through the process. This earned an "A" for responsiveness.
Description of Work: Installed a TRANE XV80 Gas Furnace and a 50-gal hot water heater.

Went very well. No problems. John was in and out in 30 to 45 minutes.
Description of Work: Our heat kept shutting off intermittently and John from Blue Flame came out the very next day after we called, showed up on time, and said it was just a clogged filter. He tuned and cleaned the furnace, changed the filter, and everything works fine.

Fast response. I was on phone conference in home office when Rodd (a co-owner) arrived. He was graceful in working around my limited availability. He did a great job of answering numerous questions I had about the furnace function and upkeep. He saved us ongoing cost we were about to incur by installing post electro-static air cleaner filters that are unnecessary and would have potentially blocked adequate air flow. He stayed on the job, persisting until he had overcome initial poor response of ignition problem to cleaning of burners. The overall cost relative to service delivered was an excellent value.

After the assessment, they determined the pricing which was fairly reasonable. They stated no additional ductwork was needed. After my research, I felt they did not offer a quality product. It was an okay company. The estimator tried really hard and spent time to explain the process and product line. I opted not to choose them based on the products they offer.
Description of Work: I received an estimate for a heat pump, furnace, programmable thermostat and air filter to be installed in my 3000 square foot home. I requested for the old units and materials to be removed and disposed of by the company.

I was a little surprised because this company came out to do the estimate and they have not returned my calls since then. I do not know what happened. Now to be fair, I will say their presentation overall was fine but I had other companies giving me estimates on the same job the same day they came here to measure. I, unfortunately, would have to say I probably would not use this company for this work because I feel like they maybe were not as into the job as they should have been. I wouldn't say they are bad. I would just say they should improve on their communication, timeliness, and maybe customer service.
Description of Work: We need to have a new furnace installed in our 2000 square foot home. This company came out to our house, measured, talked to us about themselves, and were then supposed to get back to us with an estimate. It has been weeks now and I am still waiting for them to give me an estimate.

The receptionist for Blue Flame was professional and returned my message promptly. Kaleb called 30 minutes prior to appt. and was on-time. He was courteous and answered all of my questions. He did routine maintenance on the boiler, and then showed me how to flush my hot water heater. He wrote up the work in legible handwriting. I was very pleased with his work and with the overall experience.

It went well. The person who answered the phone did have to get back to me regarding a quote because I was a commercial business and not a residence. She called back as promised. I was able to get an appointment set up for just a few days after I called. The repair person was on time and pleasant. He appeared competent and put me at ease. Everything works again and I am thrilled.
Description of Work: I had not had my AC/Furnace serviced in two years. Neither appeared to be working. The repair person came out to fix the problem, do a check-up and change the filters. He checked the A/C for gas leaks since it was out of whatever gas it uses. He found no leaks but evidence there had been one that had been repaired. He refilled the gas. Everything works great now.

The job went well, there were only a couple of small delays, and they were due to getting inspections scheduled by the city for the electrical and general installation work. The crew doing the installation was professional, polite and didn't leave a mess. The installation crew also cleaned up some of the previous sheet metal work that was done on our old furnace, making the whole area look so much more functional and professional.
Description of Work: Blue Flame installed a new Trane A/C unit and a Honeywell air purification unit. Adapted them both to our older model furnace and installed a new LCD control unit in the main living area. They also sub-contracted an electrical contractor and a company who cleaned all of our ducts.

I called Blue Flame and John was at our house in less than an hour. He diagnosed and fixed the problem. Ultimately the solution will be to buy a new furnace, but in the meantime he showed me what had gone wrong and provided a fix that should last until we are ready to replace.

The hot surface igniter on my furnace went out on a Saturday. I called another repair company and they came out late and wanted to charge me $500 for the job (a hot surface igniter is about $60). Needless to say, I refused the estimate and asked the guy to leave. I then called Blue Flame and left a message for them. They promptly returned my call on Monday morning and had a tech out within two hours. The work was performed efficiently and at a very reasonable price. The tech even did some other minor work and the furnace has never worked better.

Blue Flame was one of two companies recommended by the gas company when we had gas service brought to the house. Neither was impressive. The rep who came for the estimate was tired. He sat down in the nearest chair to the fireplace and made all estimates from there, including an estimate on work to be done in our basement. He was a sight to behold! He never sent his estimate.

It was nice to be able to call and get an appointment right away, especially because of the holidays. I called around noon and they were at my house within 3 hours. John had called 30-45 minutes ahead of time to make sure I was going to be there, which I appreciated. Easy job but they were very responsive and polite all the way through.
Description of Work: I came back from vacation and my heater (natural gas) would turn on but was only producing cold air. John came out, found that a switch/sensor was clogged and wouldn't allow the gas to light. He cleaned it out and everything is working great! The whole job probably took less than 15 minutes.

It was a very good experience. They quickly scheduled the job, and the crew installed the furnace in one day, so we had heat over the weekend, and they came back Monday and finished the job. The crew was professional and very neat.

The next day she did call, telling me they were too busy ''with a big radiant heat job'' and gave me a name to call, some not listed here. It seems to me that good business practice would include giving that info. at the first call, not later. So I'm looking elsewhere.

We got estimates from 2 companies. Blue Flame was significantly less despite the fact that the other company had put in our Trane furnace only a few months earlier. Blue Flame showed up right on schedule, they performed all the work exactly as specified and when they found issues with our old duct work, they fixed them for no extra cost. They cleaned up everything and other than having a great new air conditioner, we could not even tell they had been there. Their staff was knowledgeable, courteous and a complete pleasure to work with. I would definitely work with them again and I recommend them to anybody who is looking for heating and A/C work.
