Blue Flame Heating and Air Conditioning

Oh my goodness. First, they arrived with the wrong units. The installers had no idea. Further, the installers did not know how to install or operate the units (they were, granted, brand new residential units) which resulted in unintended damage to my ceiling which had to be repaired separately. Rather than taking 1-1/2 days for total installation, it took almost six full days over the course of three months - outdoor unit and wall unit alone took two days; after waiting several weeks for the correct indoor ceiling units they took another two days to install; waited a couple of weeks for the wifi parts which took another day; then part of another day to replace the unit that didn't work properly. The BF office, "controller" and installers did not communicate with each other or if they did they miscommunicated which resulted in more of my time and unnecessary frustration. I am happy with my Mitsubishi units now but I thank Mitsubishi, not Blue Flame.

As the owner of multiple businesses over the years, I really appreciate good customer service. I have to say that our experience working with Blue Flame was one of the best customer experiences we have had in a long time. They were prompt, courteous, timely and efficient...all at a very fair price. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to a friend or call them the next time we need help.

We were without heat for 5 days. Our heating company could not get to us for a few more days. We called Blue Flame and they replaced our old furnace the next day. They said they would never leave a customer longer then 24 hrs. I was impressed by the company. Would highly recommend them.

overall it was solid good experience, but visit took too much time as it was on the job training for junior team member. Asked for professional opinion and it was different from one I got year before from Black Lion owner who did service same furnace. I liked Black Lion service more but they wanted more money this round, so i choose to save some $$ and used Blue Flame.

Bottom line: Blue Flame told me my furnace & heat pump couldn't be fixed and insisted I needed a new system, costing well over $10,000 when all I really needed was a $1,000 repair. Blue Flame has maintained our furnace & heat pump since we bought our house in 2014. Last July, our heat pump (which connects to our furnace & provides air conditioning) went out. We called Blue Flame to fix it and they did, promptly & courteously. However, about a week later, it stopped working again. Blue Flame said the new problem was caused by the 1st issue they'd fixed but there was no way for their techs to detect it. They then repeatedly and adamantly said the whole system, furnace & heat pump, were damaged beyond repair and needed to be replaced - a cost of well over $10,000. Luckily for us, we called the company who had installed the heat pump new only 4 years prior, a month before we bought the house. They said not only that Blue Flame SHOULD have anticipated the 2nd issue when they were out the 1st time, but that our system did not need to be replaced & was easily FIXABLE. One week and $1,000 later, our heat pump & furnace were back on line in perfect working condition. They've both worked perfectly ever since. All I know is this: we had Blue Flame out to fix a problem, they said they did but a week later it failed to the point that Blue Flame said an expensive replacement was the only option, which turned out to not be the case.

From our meeting with the salesman through installation and charging of the air conditioner, these guys were first rate. We spent about 2.5 hours with the sales rep going over our old system, the configuration of our house, and our heating and cooling preferences before coming up with a recommended package. We purchased during the shoulder season and a crew was free the next day so BF was anxious to get that hole filled and we ended up getting a good system at a pretty fair price. The electrician was the first to arrive followed by the rest of the crew at 9:00AM. By 6:00 they were finished and they left no traces behind. Very tidy crew. Got a phone call from their scheduler the next day regarding the refrigeration inspection which they fully coordinated. Got another call from them regarding the inspector's arrival window. He had 2 minor things he wanted them to take care of which the tech who charged the A/C promptly dispatched. Every one of their staff we spoke with was happy to answer any questions we had and they were great about educating us and keeping us informed about what they were doing and why. This is the first time we've used Blue Flame and I hope they are as good with the service as they have been with the initial installation. So far, we're pretty happy campers and will definitely do business with them again.

I would never recommend Blue Flame to anyone, in fact, we got the strong impression that they were greedy and unhelpful. When I put in the form at Angie's List to have service done, Blue Flame called within about 1 minute of the time I pushed the submit button. The young lady on the phone was polite but some of the questions she asked she asked seemed like she was more interested in setting up a possible sale. When the "repairman" came, he made no effort to try to get our system properly cooling again. Instead, he seemed intent on selling a new system or doing repair work that would be just about equivalent to the price of a new system. Then he sent a salesman out who used high pressure sales techniques to try to get us to agree to replace. They were trying to get us to have the system replaced tomorrow or Friday of this week. So, we are not happy with the referral from Angie's list nor are we happy with Blue Flame. Please don't use them. At this point I am re-thinking my Angie's List membership (which has been a paid membership for a few years now) because the quality of the workmen that have been referred by them has not been good.

I collected estimates from 4 contractors. Blue Flame was not the lowest bid, but did have the best warranty and online reviews overall. Sales rep was thorough, not pushy, and helped me select equipment that offered the most efficiency for my budget. We settled on a 2 stage multi-speed furnace (American Standard Gold Furnace) paired with a 13 SEER 4 ton A/C. Our home did not previously have A/C so new electrical and refridgerant lines were needed. Kept my exisiting Nest thermostat. Blue Flame was able to install everything within 24 hours of signing the contract. The crew was very professional and courteous. I didn't find a single "mistake" - no holes drilled in the wrong place, no messed up paint, no missing caulk...everything looks great. Total cost after tax was $12K. I picked the right company...that's a nice feeling.

Even though the job took approximately a day more than originally estimated (from 1 day to 2 days), we are definitely impressed with the installer crew (Josh and Colin). They definitely knew their stuff, they kept us informed of updated end date/time, they cleaned up the job site after the first day, and they were responsive to all our questions. But it was the comfort advisor (Zane), who convinced us to go with Blue Flame in the first place. He took measurements to verify that we had the correctly sized A/C unit installed, informed us of why Blue Flame was the right choice for us, as well as answered a few questions after the job was done.

Very good technician. Had to pay extra to have the motor/fan cleaned which I'd assumed was part of the tune up. But I understood that this takes extra time/labor after seeing the cleaning performed so felt it was reasonable.

Whole process was great. When I called to get a quote, they returned my call that morning. The estimators were able to come to my home that afternoon to give me a quote. They were able to book the installation for two days later. The installation crew arrived on time. They were very professional. They answered all my questions, before during and after the installation was complete. They didn't hesitate to ask if they had questions. They were very respectful of my home, and were very tidy throughout the installation, and thoroughly cleaned up afterward. Our AC installation job was more extensive than the estimators assessed. However the installation folks took it in stride, and did a quality job quickly.

Blue Flame was the only company able to send a technician the same day. Theresa arrived and did a very thorough diagnostic. Although the unit was looked at by the company that originally installed it, I was told 'everything is fine,' and that the coil had frozen because my vents were closed (they weren't). She found the problem to simply be the filter needed replacing, which should've been picked up by the other company. Blue Flame even gave an Angieslist discount on the diagnostic. Thank you.

The installation and customer service were both outstanding!

Everything went smoothly with the installation. Some issues with the final inspection but company was quick to return to correct issues. All staff were very professional and nice to work with.

Well, except I submitted a review months ago and yet Angie’s List keeps bugging me to do the review. Maybe this will shut them up.

Installed AC unit in my 3 story town home on 5/11/2018. Very professional, punctual and helpful in explanation of options. They gave me a discount for taking a cancelled appointment time which was a nice benefit! Everything is working properly...very happy customer!
