All went well but I chose Blue Flame over the others because the comments for some f the others said the service person did not show up in the window of time provided. Well this guy didn't either. He called about a half hour before the end of our time to say he would be late.
Description of Work: The furnace stop working due the the thermostat. He fixed it.

Jack Sanders came out last Friday to determine what the problem was. He fixed it, but during his investigation he determined a few things should be replaced; he was not happy with their performance. Since I was under warranty, there was no cost to me. He ordered the parts and came yesterday to install them. On all visits Jack was very kind, professional, caring and thorough. He was a pleasure to work with and although professional, he was also very approachable. I respect his integrity and work ethics! He got the furnace to work properly last week and could have left it at that. He saw some other issues, I would have never known about, that he wanted fixed!! Dealing with Blue Flame has been GREAT each time and with each employee that I have had contact with. It is very obvious that this company and its employees' take pride in their work!!!
Description of Work: I had converted to gas and had this done last summer and was having problems with the new furnace, so I called for help.

Pat Brake, Blue Flame's representative, visited our home to provide a bid. We obtained bids from 3 companies, and Blue Flame's bid was the most detailed and comprehensive. Pat didn't leave anything out, which reassured us. When the weather turned cool before the installation started, Blue Flame provided space heaters for our use at no cost to us, which allowed us to stay in our home. During the installation, the installers were courteous and helpful. They didn't even mind our cats, so the cats hung out at home as usual and didn't have to be confined. When we had questions about the installation process, Pat readily responded to our calls, and after the installation was complete, Kathy in the Blue Flame office was our lifeline when we had questions about scheduling the final permit inspections. Blue Flame's bid was not the lowest bid we received - in fact it was the highest. But we went with Blue Flame because we wanted a quality job, and we felt confident they would deliver. And we're not disappointed. Our house is an old one, with a somewhat compromised crawl space, and the laundry room and third bedroom were previously unheated. Blue Flame found a way to provide heat and warmth to those two spaces. We, our guests and our cats will be comfortable from now on. Thanks, Blue Flame!
Description of Work: Blue Flame removed and recycled our existing, 32-year-old oil furnace and installed a new Trane heat pump, heat exchanger, air handler, and media air cleaner, along with all-new duct work, a second return air grill, and a new programmable thermostat in our 62-year-old home. We couldn't be more pleased. For the first time since we moved in 17 years ago, our home is warm. Even the cats love it!

Johnny, the Blue Flame Technician called and was there on the earlier end of our window, which was really great. We explained the issue, he understood right away and was aware of this type of problem, it was related to the fact that we did not have a common wire. Johnny was training a new technician, which was great, as he explained everything in thorough detail - quite helpful to hear! He also taught us a lot about our York furnace (since we just bought the house and don't know anything about it yet, we appreciated this very much). He told us about how it works, warms up and what noises were typical and normal. Plus, he checked the filters, which really felt like he went above and beyond, since he could tell there was a lot of construction dust around. He walked his trainee (and us) through the rewiring process and after some debugging, he discovered that the wiring from the top of the basement to the furnace only had two wires. Instead of just patching another one in there, he actually rewired everything from the top of the basement to the furnace and did the job right. He was extremely knowledgeable about the Nest and our furnace and we felt very confident in his abilities. The installation was quick and thorough and overall it was a very positive experience. The 2nd generation Nest is working perfectly now and I'd call Blue Flame again if I needed any other work!
Description of Work: We purchased a Nest thermostat and were having trouble getting it to work with our furnace. After multiple calls with Nest, they decided to send out Blue Flame, who are the nearest Nest certified installers. We can't review them on price since it was covered by Nest and we don't know what the cost was.

They came out for an estimate and bid and spent almost 3 hours looking at the existing system, the house, crawl space and vents, answering questions and presenting the furnace options available. They provided separate quote for A/C as well. We accepted the bid and scheduled a date. The back office people were always courteous and professional. On the day of installation they were on time and had the new unit installed and running by days end. The unit ran great for several weeks and then an ignitor cracked but they came out promptly and we never had a night without heat. Blue Flame was professional in every way from the estimate and bid process, through installation and followup to correct several issues on the furnace. They were on time, courteous, knowledgeable and provided clear explanations of the available options and technical workings of the unit.
Description of Work: We had an old gas furnace removed and a new modern modulating York furnace installed. State required pressure test on ducting was performed and a new outside air intake was installed.

Our heating system was not working (since last night, but we only figured out today morning). With an infant and my mom home, I had to find someone today itself. I called around but Blue Flame was the only company able to send someone today. Though it meant I would pay double for the trip and diagnostics, I was so happy to find someone. It's not cheap but what is the point of having a low price anyway, if you cannot count on someone when you have an emergency? So, in the end I'm happy I should say.

Returned from Hawaii to find furnace not working. Have never used this service before, but they were able to get a technician out within 2 hours to repair my American Standard furnace and do the cleaning I had neglected for several years. The technician, Johnny, wore protective booties and was very polite and helpful. He diagnosed the problem as clogged burners, cleaned them and did routine maintenance. Johnny also found that the original installer had not fully connected my furnace so he did that also. I paid $10 extra to join the maintenance club to get the maintenace next year for no further cost.
Description of Work: Furnace diagnostic, repair/cleaning. Finished incomplete installation from original installer ( not them).

After Jack diagnosed the issue he asked if I had purchased a warranty at the time another company installed the furnace & A/C in 2004. I found my service level agreement and Jack was very helpful in getting my warranty transferred to Blue Flame. Once the new motor was received he immediately came over and quickly installed the motor and circuits. He was very efficient and did a good job on clean up. I use Blue Flame for furnace & A/C service but they recently solved a duct work issue I had with a previous contractor and now I have heat in my bedroom. They also always follow-up to make certain the customer is satisfied with the work performed. Highly recommend this company.
Description of Work: Jack from Blue Flame Heating & Air Conditioning diagnosed that the inducer blower motor on my Trane furnace was no longer working and that was the reason I was not getting heat from the furnace. He ordered and installed the new motor .

I have been using Blue Flame to do the yearly service on my furnace and air conditioner. During one cleaning, I mentioned I was not getting adequate heat/air into my bedroom since my previous kitchen/bath remodel. Rodd Walker came over right away to look at the duct work. He immediately identified the problem....one duct with three vents. All the heat went into my kitchen and little heat made it all the way to the bedroom. Blue Flame was very efficient in redoing the duct work. Their workers are very professional and do a good job of cleaning up. My bedroom now has appropriate heat and great air conditioning.
Description of Work: Removed inadequate "soft pipe" heat ducting that had one continuous duct to newly remodeled kitchen, bath and bedroom. (Three vents on one line.) Replaced with hard pipe ducting. Put the bedroom on a dedicated duct and the kitchen/bath on another duct which included manual adjusted dampers. They also shortened and sealed some duct work in the crawl space when they added the dedicated line to bedroom. After the kitchen/bath remodel the contactor left old duct work in the ceiling. Blue Flame pointed out that I was getting cold air from my crawl space coming into the basement because the old duct that was left during previous remodel was opened at both ends. Blue Flame removed this old duct work and insulated the open space between the cold crawl space and basement. They did a good clean up job and they also removed and recycled old ducting left in my crawl space by the previous contractor.

Description of Work: Blue Flame installed our new furnace, heat pump, and gas fireplace insert in 2010. Cost was purchase and installation of those major heating and cooling investments. After that, we had less than $200 in service calls in the past 2.5 years. Since then, we've had them out when we had a few warranty issues and to tweak various settings. We've signed up for maintenance. The service from the company has been fast, responsive, and professional. Adam, who frequently provides our maintenance service is professional and spends enough time to explain how things work to us. He's been kind enough to diagram things and make sure we understand how things work and what we can do. They've come out in the snow and in the heat to respond to our service needs. Our experience has been very positive. They have not oversold us on anything and provided good value.

I had service completed today, a conversion to a gas furnace and water heater. Am very pleased that I chose this company after my initial meeting with Pat Brake back in July. I have received nothing but OUTSTANDING customer service from all employees at Blue Flame! The day the job was started it was fantastic from beginning to end. All the techs were outstanding, professional and helpful. The job was completed and all inspections passed. Dealing with Blue Flame after installation has been great. Everyone is very responsive and very kind. A man came out yesterday to help me with the thermostat; he too was great. I had only contacted the office a bit earlier and I had someone here right away!

Everyone we dealt with was professional, pleasant and knowledgable. The proposal we received from Rod was concise, detailed with several options to choose from. He did not miss anything or features that we asked for in the every first proposal. The initial installation went well, but due to Trane factory equipment problems, it took 2 months to get the system properly running. During the process, Don and Jack were instrumental and most patient troubleshooting the heap pump problems from failed relay, non-working controller board, leaking Schrader valve to malfunctioning expansion valve. It was somewhat frustrating that Trane wouldn't just replace the defective heat pump with one working to start with. It supposedly is more resource friendly, but frustrating regardless. Nevertheless, Blue Flame assured us that everything will be taken care of promptly and get the system functioning properly. At the time of this review, everything is working properly as expected. Although the process isn't perfectly smooth, we feel that Blue Flame took care of us as promised. We were impressed with the proposal and the knowledge that Rod offered and he was unyielding until the best configuration was achieved for our house. The final installation was definitely not the most cost effective for Blue Flame, but it was the best for us. They made multiple trips to make this right. Don, being the brand new hire for Blue Flame at the time of service was most pleasant and a joy to talk with. He debugged the systems, made fixes even on early mornings and weekend. The final problem didn't occur until Seattle got warmer and we started to really test out the A/C feature of the heat pump. At this point, Jack came into the picture and he was relentless until he resolved the problem. In a nutshell, we will use Blue Flame again. It's nice to know that there are businesses out there that stand behind their words and take care of their customers.
