The bid was close to the other contractors who bid on the system, but we did not elect to go with them. Right about the time we asked for the bid they were going through some type of business realignment. It did not impact the evaluation of the bid, but in hindsight it would probably have made things more confusing. If I had this type of work to do again, I would be happy to ask for another bid.

When our furnace went out in late March, and our water heater developed a leak in the pressure relief gage we decided to look for quotes for replacement of both. We received estimates from about 5 contractors. Two of them stood out - we chose Blue Flame because of their listing in Angies List was slightly better than the other. The salesperson was good but new so we ended up waiting a couple of days for the estimate - then there was the back and forth detailing and selecting options (like a larger return, additional registers, air cleaner). Since we were without hot water (and 3 kids - one 7 months old) they send someone out and replaced the water heater earlier - I was real impressed with the job Justin did with that - it seems very professional. After that the heat pump / furnace was scheduled 2 weeks later which gave us time to prepare a spot for the outdoor heat pump. As it was they were able to do the heat pump/furnace earlier. They were also able to point us to 12-month-same-as-cash financing which we opted for which was real easy to get. When the Furnace was replaced the next week (by this time 'roughing it' in cold morning was getting *real* *old*) they again did a professional job. When they removed the old furnace the mentioned that they usually see that size in a mobile home not a 20,000 sq ft house (which explained a lot). Squeezing the new Trane in the rather small closet was a challenge but they managed to squeeze it in. They were unable to complete the hookup of the heat pump in one day due to complications - but we did have gas heat (yeah!). The next day they completed the heat pump hookups and had to re-route the air return to accommodate the air cleaner we opted in for that was a challenge since the closed the furnace was in was already full - but they re-routed some of the gas lines for the water heater to make room. A week later they passed inspection. The result is that we now have better and much more efficient heating which heats the entire house (before, with the old undersized furnace, if we had the register in the bathroom open it would only heat the bathroom and never would heat some of the more remote bedrooms no matter what). And much better air circulation. (We used to have so much condensation on our skylight that it would run down and drip - onto furniture, people, babies, etc...). And on top of everything else we have Air Conditioning which will be nice in the summer. The air smells better and seems cleaner. I would definitely use Blue Flame again and recommend it.

From the time we had our first visit from their estimator to the day we ended the project with a successful installation, Blue Flame's entire organization was totally professional on every level. The communication and responsiveness was way above average. The care their installation team took in our house by laying down protective covering over our carpeting and so on was much appreciated and really showed they care. We installed a high efficiency heat pump/air conditioner and the system works fantastic. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for service, preventative maintenance or to invest in new heating or cooling equipment.

The Blue Flame team showed up on time, worked steadily, respected the interior of my house by removing shoes and cleaning up after themselves. I have used them for other jobs, they are always professional and honest.

The service technician spent a good amount of time assessing the problem and bid me $1000+ to do the repairs. However, as he did not have the parts in his truck, I elected to engage another company to do the work as the parts were available immediately and we needed the furnaces to function asap.

Pat Blake came out to our house and did a thorough evaluation of our heating needs. He was a pleasure to work with. He gave us useful advice and was prompt in responding to follow-up questions. We ended up going with another company, but it was a hard choice since we liked both of the salesmen and trusted that either company would do a fine job.

We checked with both Angie's List as well as the Snohomish County PUD and found 4 contractors that were on both lists. We had all 4 come out and provide bids to install a Heat Pump in the living room with an additional head in the master bedroom. Although some of the pricing was similar, Blue Flame offered the Mitsubishi brand which is said to be the best for this type of application. The salesman was very friendly and also made sure we were aware of our PUD rebate. We set up the install date and they called the day before to confirm. They arrived on time and it took the entire day to install both the heads, attic unit and the portion that is on the outside of the house. They laid down drop-cloths and put on covers over their shoes so they didn't make a mess. They did a fabulous job positioning the units on the walls so it looks just great. Everything is aligned and it works beautifully. The workmen were so professional yet friendly. Even the owners son was working as a laborer to get the experience and he seemed happy to do it. The electrician arrived on time and got his wiring done. They paged the HVAC technician and he arrived 10 minutes later to charge up the units. They both work perfectly. The HVAC technician went over all the directions on how to operate the system and how to keep it maintained. The crew did a fabulous job cleaning up the work areas. They took all the trash and there were absolutely no scraps or debris left behind. I own several houses and have remodeled them all extensively and this is probably the best contractor I've dealt with. Very professional! heee

We were unable to light the our Gas Log Fire set. The service engineer quickly showed us how to push in and hold the pilot light button until the pilot flame remained on. He explained the shaft of the button can dry out making it difficult to operate. He suggested ways to gently free the shaft (basically jiggling it) until it could be pressed in about a quarter of an inch. Next he dealt with the servicing of the gas furnace. While servicing the furnace he gave us some pointers on cleaning the electrostatic air filter. I was pleased to see he brought a shop vac with him as the last service guy expected to use our house vacuum cleaner. We will be having the furnace serviced again in 12 months.

They speeded up the installation so I could get the York rebate. The installation went well, and it has worked great all winter.

Blue Flame Heating & Air Conditioning were very friendly and professional. Their customer service was exceptional. Whenever they were running behind a couple of times, they called to let us know they were going to be late. We really didn't have any issues with them. They were on top of things and delivered what they promised. We smelled gas in the home afterwards and they came out right away and took care of the problem. It was a small leak, a manufacturer defect that had nothing to do with them.

Were very good, cleaned and had my new system up and running sooner than we planned, very pleased.

I really appreciated them for scheduling to accommodate my work schedule. The ladies who answer the phone are the best! David came out on the first trip to investigate the issue. He listened to me and explained all points of what he had found. Originally I had also ordered maintenance servicing as well, but David was honest and told me my oil to gas conversion unit didn't need it. Five days after diagnosis David was back and replaced the relay. The heat is working on its own (i.e.; I don't have to run downstairs and flip the on/off switch). Great experience.

The installation of the tankless water heater was accomplished with out incident and my daughter loves the hot water. The installation of the heat pump was a little more difficult. It was the first one of this type that they had installed. They had to come out a couple of times before we found the best placement for the temperature. The manufacturer's instructions were sketchy. The company was great to work with and very responsive to my requests.

They also taught us how to turn the fireplace back on ourselves. They are prompt and clean, putting sheets down when they come in.

All of the staff was excellent, their service is always wonderful. The worker who came today was very efficient and very forthcoming with ideas. They were very punctual and the service went perfectly.
