Very thorough. I was expecting dryer vents, too, but not this time. Good purchase.

I called Blue Flame for their special of $89 for a tune up & inspection of my heat pump. They were over an hour early and I was the 1st appointment of the day and they didn't call to let me know the time of arrival. That's why I marked them a B for punctuality, they weren't late but early. They were all very professional in all my contacts with the company. He found 2 parts that needed to be replaced, He had them on the truck which was wonderful. He explained the problems clearly and the price was reasonable. When he had replaced the parts, he showed the old ones and explained why they needed to be replaced. He used his meter and flashlight to let me see where the parts were scorched and how the amps low on the old parts. He answered all my questions. And he treated me with respect for myself and for the house. He even washed my metal filters, explained why paper filters might be better for us and even measured for the paper ones so I'll know which ones to buy. I was happy with their service and would use them again.

Blue Flame service people refused to do tune up, he insisted to charge us $108.50 diagnostic fee before doing the pre-paid maintenance service, and the diagnostic was the inducer nozzle was clogged which should have been cleaned by the maintenance/tune-up service already paid for.

Al was awesome! He showed up on time, explained the components of my furnace and gave me an honest assessment of its lifespan. Highly recommend!

Blue Flame installed central air conditioning for us this week. Total cost was about $6,300: $5,000 for the unit and installation, $800 for the electrical work, and the rest was tax (9.6%). We had a 3-ton unit installed, and we already had a coil, so that was not part of the cost. The salesman was very nice and honest. He didn't try to upsell me, and when I pressed him on whether a 3-ton unit would be big enough, he assured me it would instead of taking the opportunity to talk me into a bigger unit (which would've required us to buy a new coil). The installation team was punctual, courteous, and professional. There are two reasons I did not give them an A. The first is communication. When we scheduled the installation, we were told it would take a full day, and a couple hours the next morning. As such, I made arrangements to work from home the day of the installation and the morning of the second day. We found out the day of the installation that we would need to be at our house the entire day the following day (not just the morning) because two inspectors would be coming by, and they did not know when exactly the inspectors would be by. Also, the company was coming back to fire up the unit but had to wait until the inspection was completed and therefore wouldn't be there first thing in the morning. I had to call the company to let them know that the inspector had signed off, and they sent someone by later in the afternoon. We are all busy people. It was extremely disruptive to find out on a Wednesday afternoon that I needed to stay home all day on Thursday. We were able to work something out, and the person I spoke with on the phone was very nice, but the situation was less than ideal. This could've easily been remedied by the company clearing explaining the process of the installation. Had I known all of this when I scheduled the installation two weeks prior, I could've more easily re-worked my schedule to accommodate the installation. Second, the sales person indicated the location that the unit would be placed, and we were happy with that location. Then, the evening before the installation was scheduled, a company rep came by to tell us that we had to place it somewhere else due to Seattle's city codes. We are less pleased with the location where it was actually installed and now need to do some work on our fence to make it work better. (They did NOT damage our fence, but the unit was installed outside of our fence, which is less secure, so we need to extend our fence to enclose it.) Again, this is something that would've been nice to know when we got the estimate, not 12 hours before the installation was scheduled to begin. The salesman who did the estimate obviously did not have a clear understanding of Seattle city code with respect to AC installation, and this seems a grave oversight. I wouldn't steer anyone away from this company, but if you use them, you'll have to probe them to make sure you understand exactly the process of the service you're having done.

Work went great, and they came out on a day that everyone else was closed on. The deal is kind of tricky so make sure you read these deals in full. I was under the assumption that the both inspections were included when it was either the a/c or furnace inspection.

The provider arrived on time and he was very knowledgeable. He provided the service as described and gave us some suggestions for ongoing maintenance.

They installed a 60,000 btu 96% efficiency 2-stage, variable speed fan Rheem gas furnace. Installed Honeywell Pro 8000 thermostat. They completed the work in 1 day. The two installers were courteous and went through the operation of the furnace and the thermostat before departing. They really cleaned up the place before they left. They responded promptly to my call to come out after the install and fill-in some gaps in the caulking around the exhaust pipes. I have used this company for previous gas furnace repairs and was not disappointed with this install. I will also be using them for my yearly maintenance.

Very pleased with the service I received. Blue Flame did the job well and showed me the blower assembly after cleaning it. Charged me less than half what my (former) furnace service company wanted for the job! Blue Flame did not try to hard sell me on any long term contract or future services I may or may not be needing. Just did the job and left me the paperwork, along with a straightforward service pricing list for any other work I may want in the future. That's how I like doing business!

Blue Flame had by far the best quote for our furnace replacement and we hired them. There was an initial problem with a downflow heater coming with the technicians that had to be swapped out for an upflow model that caused some delays, but the technicians did a quality job of preparing the site for when the correct unit arrived and did a good job of installing the furnace.

Overall everything went well and Blue Flame made sure that they will stand behind their work. While the install took only one day it took a week+ to solve an issue with one of the new units and there were some corrections that needed to be made to pass the mechanical inspection, a rarity for Blue Flame according to the inspector as I had talked to him. The systems been great, it's been almost a month now with it and Blue Flame has been nothing but courteous and attentive in making sure that the new system and I have been taken care of. I got to meet quite a few of the crew and they were all very friendly, attentive (they had people out the same day if not the next morning for me), and helpful with any questions or needs I had. Happy that we chose them to do the work.

Overall I was happy with the experience. The company is very responsive and professional in setting up appointments and the technician was helpful and did a good job getting my 29 yr old AC up and running. There were two small issues. The first was some confusion over the scheduling. It seems they have a pretty modern scheduling system that sends out some automated reminders. At first I thought I had scheduled a morning time slot, but received email notification that it was an afternoon slot so I went to work. It turned out it was a late morning slot. Fortunately, they called me an hour before arrival so I was able to get home and meet the technician. It was not a big deal, but just make sure that if an email notification doesn't match what you agreed to on the phone you call and confirm the time. The only other thing to be aware of is to make sure if you purchase a pre-paid service on Angie's list that you keep a copy of the description. They were offering several different maintenance service packages here and they weren't familiar with the description of the one I purchased. Once I showed it to the tech and he called the office, they were happy to honor the terms, but it seemed like they hadn't seen the description for that particular package. This is probably good advice for any package purchased here. In any event these were small matters and the company did not hesitate to honor the package as described.

We found Jake and Adam to be delightful, and were very happy that someone as experienced as Adam was able to return and fix the air conditioner. We had purchased the club member maintenance plan, which helped offset the high cost of repair (around $1500.) Our tip to any homebuyers: hire Blue Flame to test the air conditioner before you buy. We bought this house in February, so it was too cold to turn on the AC then, but Adam said he had ways to test AC units even in winter. We wish we had known him then.

fine. However, one of the reasons we called service was to set up an annual maintenance schedule. This company only offered this service combined with other [i.e. duct cleaning, etc.] services which we do not need, and at a cost that seemed unreasonable. Would call again for only annual furnace cleaning if they ran another special. Otherwise too expensive and services we do not want.

I contacted them around 6:45PM on a Sunday. I got a call back by 7PM the same day (yes - within 15 minutes). The scheduler was incredibly nice, informed and helpful. They got someone out the next day, originally scheming for 12 - 4 and then called back to see if I could possibly do it earlier. I could and Jack showed up at 11:05 (with a window starting at 11). He was awesome: personable, informed, explained everything and showed me the part that blew. I asked about a hot water heater and he gave me a quote on that as well, detailing how long they typically last in Seattle and noting that ours was well over the life expectancy (someone else had told us this as well). Jack put on booties (even though it wasn't raining and my carpets need to be cleaned) and gets 5 stars! The service was quick and seemed like a reasonable price. All around great experience: exceeded my (high) expectations.
