Blue Flame Heating and Air Conditioning

Even though my installation is straightforward, I was told that their sales person needed to come by. Brian turned out to be super slick and a fast talker. He immediately told me that a tankless would be the far better choice. When I asked how much longer the tankless system held up (compared to a standard water tank) and how much energy it would save, he said that the difference was minimal. Ultimately, he could not tell me why it would be a better choice for me. Not surprisingly, the tankless was far more expensive than the power vent. Brian wrote up a quote for the power vent water tank: $2,969 plus tax, for a total of $3,254. I thought I was stuck with an extremely expensive water tank replacement. After getting Blue Flame's quote, I asked my long-time general contractor if he could recommend a reliable alternative -- he told me that Blue Flame is known for being very expensive, and recommended Greenwood Hardware instead. What a difference! Greenwood Hardware quoted me over the phone -- NO commissioned sales people, unlike Blue Flame. And no upselling. Greenwood's price: A flat $1,900 installed plus tax. And they install next day. I’ll be saving $1,175 by going with Greenwood Hardware, which I’ll do as soon as my current water tank fails. Because of Blue Flame's high pressure sales tactics and high prices, I've lost my trust in them. It's a shame, as they use to be a good company to work with. They installed my Trane gas furnace six years ago, and their pricing was very competitive .However, they are under new ownership, which seems to be more focused on upselling and their prices are now exceptionally high.

I had a complicated install due to the tight location of the water heater. They insisted on a salesman coming to the home. I was busy and sent them several pictures of the install with the measurements but they said they wouldn't do business without a salesman coming by. I agreed to see the salesman. Brian was on time and friendly but there was no follow-up at all. Not a call or sorry we can't help you.. However I did receive a couple emails asking me to rate them. I tried but it didn't take my rating... Hummm. Bottom line. If you need a gas water heater installed I suggest calling Right On Heating in Lake Stevens. No salesman, no hassle, professional. Pricing was very fair.

Went really well - but the ignitor was VERY expensive to replace labor-wise even though it's a $25 part.

Purchased a discounted deal via Angie's List which made the service more affordable. Blue Flame coordinated the time of arrival ahead of time, technician was very courteous and professional.

Great! The sales manager came out and was awesome. Very fast and knowledgeable installers known as the Josh's. They replaced our machine that kept our home at a much more cooler climate. Thanks again!

I was amazed how perfectly the team of guys all worked together. Josh C., Josh W., Steve R. and Darrin B. did an absolutely wonderful job. Extremely professional, courteous, helpful and friendly! They even had to trim an outside bush to fit the heater and they hauled away the yard waste! There is not one single thing to complain about and Blue Flame was worth every penny. I definitely recommend them for any service need and am pleased I selected this company to install my heater as from day one of making the appointment with Kailana to the estimate review with Kyler every interaction with this company was top notch. In the end I contracted with Washington Energy Services, but I'm sure Blue Flame would have done a good job, too. See my review for Washington Energy Services. It's hard to rate on individual grades below as they did not perform the actual work. The review makes you select "would you hire again?", but I did not hire this company.

They found that my furnace was prematurely shutting down due to overheating. Found that there was not enough return air. This is being fixed and they will come back to check and replace the overheat switch.

I just bought a new townhouse and asked Blue Flame to come out to check on the furnace and do a "Fall Tune-up" before the cold sets in. I also needed a new water heater and asked for an estimate. Adam came and was on time and extremely nice and a great resource. After inspecting the furnace we concluded that a new furnace would be best since the current one had NO Air filter and was an inexpensive model known for high maintenance costs. He didn't try to upsell me an expensive furnace but pointed out the options going forward. Adam did a great job and I feel confident that I got the best equipment for the size of the home as needed. No pushing me into a higher price model. He also recommended a great water heater which I bought since the furnace and water heater sat together and it would be smart and cheaper to do both at the same time. The installation went smooth and the guys showed up on time and worked efficiently all day. They didn't even stop for a lunch break. The work was completed that afternoon as promised and throughout the day a few other colleagues came by to check on them and bring some parts. I am VERY pleased with my experience with Blue Flame including the evaluation of my furnace, the selection of new equipment and the smooth and timely installation of the new product. Adam also recommended a few Air Duct cleaning companies, one of which I chose, and they were great as well and offered a reasonable price. This other company also had high regards for Blue Flame and their product. I feel I got a great deal but more than that, i feel going forward I will have the support and knowledge with the Blue Flame family that will be needed to keep my water heater and furnace working properly and my home well heated for the best price possible. Adam did a great job evaluating the problem identified by the gas company. His explanations were thorough and we clearly understood the purchase options we had. Adam arranged installation quickly and took care of all the rebates, permitting and other paperwork issues. Tom and Steve were the two service technicians who removed our old furnace and installed the new. They did a great job - were careful as they worked and cleaned the area thoroughly when they were finished. I would recommend this service provider highly.

Don't get sucked in by the excellent customer service on the front end. Blue Flame installed our air conditioning in May 2015. It stopped working within hours and they had to come out three times before it worked properly. To their credit, they were very responsive each time it stopped working. After a full summer of having our upstairs not cool down enough, I called to see about getting a more powerful unit (and a quieter one since ours is so loud we can't be outside while it's on). I had to call three times before someone called me back. About two months after my first call, someone finally came out to take a look. They told us that our furnace can't support a larger unit, so we'd need to buy a new furnace. When I expressed frustration that they didn't tell me that our furnace size might be an issue when we had their air conditioning installed and asked (once again) about getting a quieter unit, I was told someone would get back to me within two days. It's been a month. Seriously disappointing experience.

For the installers I give an 'A' but for the follow up afterwards, with a couple of the problems, I give them a 'C' The price was good. I would use them again just because I'm still waiting on another response, but that might change if they keep putting us off. The workers were great, they were very professional, they were friendly and they answered all of my silly questions. The responsiveness after everything was installed, when there were problems with the electrical and some of the duct work has not been adequate.

The repairs went well but the billing department looks like they don't know what they are doing. After one visit started to bill me monthly for maintenance subscription that I did not sign for. I called shortly after discovering unauthorized transactions and they told me it is all will be taken care of. Half a year later they are still billing me. I asked them to reimburse me for monthly fees and they put the burden on me to prove that they billed me. Looks unprofessional and disappointing, makes me think in the office they don't know what they are doing.

Chris was great! Arrived right on time and was very knowledgeable and courteous. He educated me on a lot of different aspects of how to take care of my heat pump and air cleaner and about electronic air filters. He found a circuit in the heat pump that was corroded and replaced it. He also cleaned out my heating coils though it wasn't actually included in the $89 deal that I got on Angie's List. I will definitely use this company again for any heat pump or furnace needs.

Nothing came. I contacted Blue Flame to find out what was going on.. the office person forwarded my request... nothing came, I asked again... nothing came. So meeting with Blue Flame appeared to be a good contractor, it was a complete waste of 2+ hrs of my time and an unprofessional way to bid on a job. I don't know why they didn't respond: 1) They had no ac/heatpump solution to add to the Trane furnace 2) They didn't want to set up the heatpump or AC on the NEST generation 2 thermostat. 3) They bungled the entire getting-bid-out process? Who knows, but I cannot recommend them to get a job done. Thankfully I had 3 other contractors also come out to bid and they all did respond with a bid.

The staff was competent and did a fantastic job. However they messed up my day's schedule for arriving well beyond the promised time window.

We spoke to a few companies before deciding on blue flame. The difference was the initial consult - I forget his name but he came prepared and was very knowledgable. Other companies were very informative, but they didn't have any definitive numbers for the cost of the project. By the time our meeting was over, we knew which appliances, for how much, and how the products we chose would impact our monthly energy costs. For the install, all went well there too. We actually had an issue on our part - we had the cable company here making a change with our internet - so Blue Flame came back a few weeks later to set up our wifi enabled thermostat. They were in and out no problem. All around, very happy and look forward to keeping our system serviced from Blue Flame.

Adam came punctually, was really friendly and very professional. He explained all of the details about furnace, how it works, what to look for, where to find the filter, checked how it's working and advised for the future. I am very happy about the service and it was great to talk to Adam.

The work done by Blue Flame was excellent at all stages, from the helpful survey of the house leading to the bid, to the final installation and test of the new unit. All employees were very responsive to our questions and very professional in their conduct, including the office representatives we were not able to meet. We received an email shortly before the work crew arrived - the email identified all members of the work crew by name, and showed their pictures. All members of the work crew introduced themselves, and were very polite toward us. The crew demonstrated time and again, throughout the day, their pride of workmanship - it showed in the way the units were built up, the visual presentation of the final installation, the comprehensive testing, and the cleanup. We believe we received a very high quality finished product and we have very much enjoyed the use of it so far this summer.
