Blue Flame went above and beyond our expectations and got the installation done in one day just one day after the appointment for the estimate as time was running out on being eligible for a sale. All their involved staff was courteous and professional. The installation looks all neat and clean and passed inspection with flying colors. They explained everything in detail before, during and after the work. Their office staff is also very responsive, friendly and efficient. We are very happy to have chosen this company and are looking forward to use their services in the future.

The technicians and salespeople at Blue Flame are top notch. They worked quickly, installing a new furnace and AC unit in a single day. What impressed me most was that they were initially called out to do annual maintenance on my 17+ year old furnace for a new home we purchased. They couldn't get it to light and spent nearly 3 hours trying to remedy the issue, sending two technicians--which they didn't charge me for. Instead of repairing it we decided to replace and we are ever so happy we did. I highly recommend!

I checked out Blue Flame here since they are a local company to me. Saw the great reviews and decided to get a quote from them for replacing our furnace. I contacted them via their website and after some delay did manage to schedule a salesman to come out for a visit. He came this last Monday - spent an hour checking things out and then we spent 20 minutes or so going over options and costs. I gave him every indication that I was ready to move forward just wanted the quote in writing so I could be sure which option made the most sense. He left our house around 1030 am and promised I would have the quote by end of day. Nothing. Tuesday I checked via email - computer problems I would get the quote soon. Wednesday emailed both the sales person and my other "team member" about the lack of quote. Nothing. Thursday - you guessed it nothing. Friday I sent a message via Angie's list about the issues - heard back. I would have the quote by the end of the day. Now it is Saturday night and nothing. An easy sale lost and I have no idea what the issue was. I am glad others had good experiences with them but I couldn't even get a quote.

The technician was very conscientious and knowledgeable. He explained why we should run our furnace fan and what it's function is. He listened to our needs and suggested products to solve them. We ended up purchasing an electronic filter and an Air Scrubber. Between the two the dust in our house has really decreased. He also showed us the benefits to joining their Maintenance Club. We are very happy with Blue Flame and glad we tried them.

The good: I chose them based on stunning reviews here. Furnace went out and Jack was out to my house by the end of the day, but the furnace was toast and had to be replaced. We discussed a furnace/heat pump system (as I wanted to finally have air conditioning) - and he said it was the last day of 50% off promotion they were having on a heat pump. Great, so he comes back with a quote of $10K and I nearly fell out of my chair, but I haven't bought a furnace in decades to no real context. He said they have a payment program, so again, great! I was now without heat until they installed the new system, which wasn't going to be for 2-3 days, so they had someone drop by a couple room heaters which, since I work from home, really helped. Installation took the better part of a day (furnace in the attic), and every one of the crew were professional and on task. Unfortunately, we had MANY issues requiring many subsequent visits to resolve, BUT their customer service was superb and every single tech was prompt and again, fantastic. They finally got it all working and I'm really happy with the new system. The not-so-good: Price - and let me qualify that by saying I don't have enough information, in the form of a line item bill. I admittedly agreed initially to this deal before asking to see the detail, assuming I would get that info when I received the final invoice. Alas, that contained 9 line items but only the total amount, with an 'adjustment' (deduction) of a little over $600. I asked for the line item breakdown, and was told they were very sorry but they 'don't do that', so I responded, cc'ing Jack, to say this didn't make sense to me. Jack called immediately and said he would have it for me asap. 2 weeks went by, and had to reach out to Jack again. He finally sent a breakout that included only 4 items, and no way for me to tell what the price of the heat pump was or what my discount should have been, as the $600 adjustment seems way too low. I responded with these questions (sent the email twice) but still have not heard back after several weeks. Maybe it's me, but I find it really odd and left feeling a bit uneasy that there seems to be such resistance to my request for basic transparency on my bill. Happy to revise this review if we ever resolve this.

The whole team ( Brian, the comfort advisor, Kailana, on the phone and Ryan, Cameron and Tim, who did the installation) were are friendly, courteous and professional. The install went pretty quickly and they clean up after themselves and I am very happy .

Blue Flame Heating & Air Conditioning I spent 2 weeks researching HVAC companies in my area. I used Angie’s List and the listing of heating contractors on the Snohomish PUD website ([*** Link removed ***] as a starting point. I got a good snapshot the of companies I wanted to interview. Two of the HVAC companies I interviewed tried to steer me toward solutions and equipment I wasn’t asking for. Both of those companies also didn’t even bother to do a Manuel J residential load evaluation to determine what size of HVAC system I would need. Kyler - the Blue Flame advisor/estimator walked me through my options and the pros and cons of the different HVAC systems. He also showed me the yearly cost difference (graph) of AC/Gas versus a heat pump. I didn’t feel he tried to sell me a particular brand or use a lot of HVAC jargon to overwhelm me. They were able to schedule me for an install for 2 weeks later (although I was able to move it up a week because of a cancelation). I ended up replacing and upgrading my 20 year old gas furnace from 80% to 96% efficiency, 2 stage (Rheem), added a Trane 17 seer A/C unit, and a Mitsubishi ductless heat pump, and replaced my flex ducting with rigid ducting, and I also replaced my thermostat with a new 3rd generation smart Nest thermostat (highly recommend).They had everything up and running in 3 days (plus one day to insulate the ducts, do a pressure test and adjust the dampers). Day 1 Luke and Mannie installed the furnace, day 2 they installed the A/C, ductless heat pump, and removed the flex ducting. Day 3 they custom fabricated and installed the rigid ducts in my crawl space, charged the A/C, checked for leaks, and did a final inspection on the entire system. The primary installers, Luke and Mannie were incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and hard working. The amount of work, and skill to fabricate a custom HAVC install is hard to describe. At one point there was 3 trucks in front of my house (a different group of Blue Flame installers had finished early on another project and came over and pitched in) with 6-7 people all working as a team. Everything is working perfectly, there was a high level of professionalism and skill that went into every aspect of this project. The overall cost was competitive and fair - you get what you pay for. I highly recommend them - it was a great experience. Getting the right contractor is the most important part of HVAC solution, more important than the equipment it self.

I've been using them on a yearly basis. They had me sign a contract for an annual checkup on our furnace. I've been happy with them. We had a few issues that we then cleared up. After I started using them I saw there were some less costly services but then I didn't want to discontinue and have to find another one. I guess they are maybe average, but not so much economical. We were satisfied on what they did. That was only the second time they came. We signed a contract and they're charging us $12 and some odd cents on a monthly basis, that covers the service annually. The last time he was here he sold us some furnace filters for $100-something. We were using the reusable furnace filters. He sold us the ones that we use once and dispose it. He said those were better, since we don't use the furnace the whole year. In the Summer we do not turn it on. He sold us 12 and said that we should change it every other month or so, but we don't really have to change the furnace filters because it is not on. We still have some leftovers although he implies that he wanted us to buy a box full every year. I'm not going to buy a full box this year because we still have 6 or 8 of them left. He said a capacitor was about to give up, so he said he had to replace that. I think we paid $200 for that. We paid quite a bit of money on the second visit because we had to replace that part. I had asked them if we could just pay a lump sum for the year instead of paying a monthly deduction, they said that it wasn't possible and that they would have to charge us more if they did that. I don't understand why I just can't give them a check for the annual fee. They said that somehow in their system they had to do a monthly deduction. I didn't have a clear explanation of why, but we agreed to that. If I decided not to continue to use them I would have to cancel them a year ahead because it is already locked into my checking accounts. I guess I had agreed to have it deducted off one of my credit cards. At the time I'm okay with their service. Hopefully I won't have another $500 fee again this year. He said the capacitor that I had replaced should last another 5 years or so and at that time in the future, we might have to put in a new furnace but I don't know yet. We'll see.

I have used Blue Flame a few times for our annual furnace service and they are very professional. They arrived on-time during the assigned window, cleaned furnace as expected, and provided a new furnace filter since we didn't have one. My one complaint is that they tend to schedule pretty far out in advance (about a month from when I purchased the deal) and then they called on the day of service to see if I was okay pushing out the service another 3-4 weeks. Furnace service isn't very time critical so I was fine with the request, but decided not to reschedule that far out.

Have used them before and it was fine. This time they changed prices, changed brand of water heaters bid and were not the good company they used to be. Furnace service check went OK but turned out to be more than coupon covered. Would recommend all bids done in writing before agreeing to have any work done.

We were able to get a same-day appointment and Eric (the tech) arrived promptly. Very professional from start to finish and the Angie's List coupon saved us some cash. Eric was actually excited to see how old the furnace is and with the enthusiasm of someone doing what they love, jumped right in after we explained the issue. After poking, prodding and testing various components he was able to diagnose the problem and even went out of his way to find a solution that did not require replacement parts. (parts that in all probability aren't available anymore!) No bait and switch, no pushing for expensive fixes. Eric did a fine job of explaining what would be involved in replacing our current system when we're ready, but didn't attempt any scare or pressure tactics to force a sale. A+ for the entire Blue Flame team. Nice bonus is the level of communication they provide. Toni (in the office) sent email/texts advising us on arrival times and even sent us a notification with the pictures of everyone on the team so we'd know in advance who was coming. Would definitely recommend.
Description of Work: Our ancient electric furnace blower wasn't shutting off properly. The blower was running for a very long time after the thermostat indicated everything was off. We were worried about the overall health of the furnace as well as the wasted electricity the blower was using.
